PolarPro Creative Filters for DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine Announced

PolarPro has just introduced a new lineup of filters specifically engineered to fit the DJI Mavic 3 & Mavic 3 Cine. This brand new set includes VNDs and polarizers as well as mist and creative filters to emulate the anamorphic look.

The announcement of the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine was one of the most impressive product release of 2021. Their amazing dual-camera system, robust codecs, lightweight design and ever-lasting battery life make them one of the smartest and most advanced aerial solution on the market.

Since their release, the guys at PolarPro have been busy perfecting a fresh lineup of filters that could match the potential of these two drones. The result is an extensive set of filters, from classic VNDs and polarizers to more innovative creative solutions. Let’s take a closer look.

PolarPro filters for DJI Mavic 3: overview

All filters in the new lineup are compatible with both the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine. While some have a clear technical purpose, others provide never-seen-before creative solutions for this type of drones.

Among the technical filters, we can find two VND options: the VND2-5 cuts off from 2 to 5 stops of light, while the VND6-9 is a little more intense. Moreover, four polarizing filters (CPL, ND8/PL, ND16/PL and ND32/PL) complete this set of technical tools.

However, the greatest novelty is the introduction of three FX filters for aerial use. The Mist filter reduces contrast and offers 1/4 of diffusion. Instead, by placing the Blue and GoldMorphic filters in front of the camera you will be able to emulate the effect of an anamorphic lens. In fact, these two filters transform point-like light sources into blue or golden horizontal light streaks.

Even more surprisingly, PolarPro also offers three combined filters that mix the benefits of the VND2-5 with the creative look of the Mist, BlueMorphic or GoldMorphic filters.

Build quality and design

When it comes to their VNDs, PolarPro claims that they can achieve the same color accuracy of standard ND filters thanks to a new polarization technology. In truth, the whole lineup seems to be very well built.

In fact, all filters use German CinemaSeries glass. This should ensure high color rendition and low levels of refraction. Moreover, the new aluminum filter frame looks lightweight, but still sturdy and protective.
