Videogame Requirements for Upcoming Titles (Far Cry 6, Battlefield 2042, and more)

Fall – The Season for Gamers

Move out of the way, Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, Fall is the season of AAA titles. With Fall rapidly approaching, and our wallets starting to hyperventilate, MANY titles are coming up that are all demanding your attention. While you are sitting, pondering which title to pick up, you should also ask yourself… is your PC going to be able to run said title? With each year, games advance more and never cease to blow us away in terms of visuals, however that does mean that older hardware could have a hard time keeping up. Lucky for you, we have some recommended, and minimum, spec requirements for these titles.

Far Cry 6

I can’t tell you how excited I am for this game! Especially since Giancarlo Esposito will be portraying the main antagonist. Not to mention, this game is shaping up to be a huge sandbox world, just as Far Cry 5 was (really recommend that game). Be sure to check out the gameplay trailer here

Far Cry 6

Do be warned, though – Ubisoft has a track record of having poorly optimized games at launch (we are looking at you, Assassin’s Creed: Unity), so I would take both spec requirements with a grain of salt.

Let’s look at the minimum and recommended requirements:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 | AMD FX-8300 or better

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 | AMD R9 380 or better

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or better

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)

VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti or AMD RX 5700 or better

Back 4 Blood

The spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead franchise, Back 4 Blood, is coming, and it is coming with more action, more zombies, and… a card system? Nonetheless, Back 4 Blood is a fast-paced co-op horde based shooter that puts you in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. You can check out the gameplay trailer here, if you didn’t get a chance to play the open beta that happened recently. While shooting your way through, what seems to be, endless amounts of the undead, you must make sure that those frames aren’t dropping – here is the recommended specs for Back 4 Blood:

Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X

GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 590

Diablo II: Resurrected

Diablo II Resurrected

Blizzard’s infamous Diablo II is getting remade from the ground up. This classic game has been fond in many gamers’ hearts over the years, as well as been played by many gamers over the years, and fortunately for us, we will be able to relive it with updated graphics. Check out the trailer here. Blizzard has always been good about having their games optimized to run on the most basic of computers, so the minimum and recommended specs for this game aren’t too bad:

Operating System: Windows 10

Processor: Intel® Core i3-3250 / AMD FX-4350

Video: Nvidia GTX 660 / AMD Radeon HD 7850

Hard Drive Space: 30 GB

Battlefield 2042

I can’t express my excitement for this game enough. As a long time Battlefield fan, this installment looks like it is heading back to its roots. With EA showcasing new features in this title, it is most definitely ambitious, and exciting, to see what the DICE team has been up to. From 128 player servers to killer tornados, I cannot wait to get my hands on this title. I highly recommend checking out one of the trailers here. This title, however, will be a demanding one. Let’s look the specs for this title:

Core i5 6600K / AMD FX-8350 or better

4 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560
