This is my first smart watch, so I don’t know why paying hundreds of dollars for the name-brands would be worth it. I paid $75 for this on Black Friday and I have had it several weeks now and am very happy with its performance and battery life, available apps, and things it measures, and accuracy. This has the features of a digital watch for legibly telling time, day of week, and month and date. It has the features of a health tracker. It has afeatures of a workout watch. Everything is plenty accurate (do you really need a perfect measure of your heart rate, or just a relative one?); I’ve read that this brand has actually beaten the pricier competition in accuracy comparisons on steps. I find it quite accurate for steps and distance walked. Three things I don’t like: (1) screen does not stay on all the time to save battery. You have to shake your arm or push the side button to turn it on. That is annoying because I often just want to glance at my watch in the middle of doing things to see what time it is. I feel like they could make an optional mode that would use some sort of low power blacka nd white display mode to just show time, day, date. (2) Watch and app interfaces have a hundred options and a confusing array of menu items you have to trail down to find any given feature. Maybe I will learn it over time, but it is a mess. But the watch is very configurable so you can at least hide features you don’t use so you have a better chance of finding the ones you want (lets see, do I swipe up, down, left or right for that?). I find “Olympics Color” to be the best free watch face…no waste of space on decoration and shows pretty much all the measured variables. (3) No detailed users manual…anywhere; however, when I have a specific question about how to find a feature, I google it, and have always gotten a good answer, so maybe I don’t need a manual. But that means there could be features I don’t know to even ask for that are available and I will never know about them. Oh well, $75. UPDATE: To keep the “Always On Display” you can buy an AOD watch face, or built-in, you can make it stay on for 20 min at a time…go to Control Center on the watch and click the plus sign to add the option for “Keep Screen Lit”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently purchased the Amazfit Smart Watch, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. This smartwatch has exceeded my expectations in every way, making it deserving of a solid 5-star review!First and foremost, the user-friendly interface of the Amazfit Smart Watch is a game-changer. Setting it up was a breeze, and I was navigating through its features within minutes. The touchscreen is responsive, and the menu layout is intuitive, making it accessible to both tech-savvy users and those new to smartwatches. One of the key features that I love is its ability to track steps and sleep. The step-tracking is incredibly accurate, and it has motivated me to stay active and reach my daily goals. It’s a fantastic tool for keeping an eye on your daily activity levels, and I’ve found it to be very motivating. The sleep tracking is another highlight for me. It provides detailed insights into my sleep patterns, helping me understand the quality of my rest. This has been invaluable for improving my sleep habits and overall well-being.The exercise functions on this smartwatch are impressive. Whether you’re running, cycling, or engaging in other forms of physical activity, it accurately tracks your progress. The heart rate monitor is a fantastic addition, ensuring you can exercise safely and efficiently. It has truly become my workout companion. The icing on the cake is the beautiful interface. The watch faces are customizable, allowing me to choose a style that suits my mood or outfit. The high-resolution display is sharp, and the watch looks stylish and sleek on my wrist. In addition to these features, the long battery life and water-resistant design make this smartwatch incredibly versatile. I don’t have to worry about constantly charging it, and it can withstand my active lifestyle. In conclusion, the Amazfit Smart Watch is a fantastic piece of technology that checks all the boxes. It’s user-friendly, tracks steps and sleep with precision, excels in exercise tracking, and boasts a sleek and customizable interface. I highly recommend this smartwatch to anyone looking to enhance their daily life and fitness journey. It has truly made a positive impact on my daily routine. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a great watch for the price. The biggest negative was that there is almost no instructions that come with the watch. If you are familiar with smart watches or just generally up to speed about how modern stuff works, you won’t have a problem. Took me a bit to realize about swiping up or sideways to access things. There IS a minimal user manual on the Amazon page where you order. It’s in the upper right corner of the order screen. You can download a PDF of the user manual. It is a MINIMAL manual, however, but it helps.Pros: Battery life is amazing. It’s been 11 days since I bought the watch, and I’m still at 50% battery.Messages and phone call notifications work great. Very light weight and has an adequate sized screen. You can access all the watch data on the ZEPP phone app that you install on your phone. Monitors work outs, steps, HR, blood oxygen, stress levels, sleep quality and amounts, and can be a remote for your phone music playing. I think you can have 5 things to monitor, with a few more choices that you can substitute in if you’d like.Cons: User manual. Also, you probably have a limited number of apps that can display. I’m not sure, because maybe there is a way to download more apps from the ZEPP page, but without instructions, I don’t know how. One minor thing is that the watch seems to struggle collecting a heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress measurement. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds for the data to collect, with it failing on occasion and requiring you to press “measure” again. It’ll collect HR without prompting when you are just wearing it, though.Would I buy this watch again at this price point ($59)? Absolutely. Are there better watches? I’m sure there are, but I don’t have the time or money to buy a sample of all of them to try.Edit: I’ve now had the watch for 15 days with no problems. The battery is only down to 39%, so I believe it must have a nuclear reactor powering it or something. :)Edit: After over 3 months I’ve finally settled on a schedule of recharging every 9 days. It’s around 25% charged at that point, so a I connect the magnetic charger for an hour or so, and it’s back up to 100%. Still no problems or concerns.

I’ve learned that with smart watches you always need to make a tradeoff. I like my smart watches to have fitness tracking, phone notifications, and LONG battery. Personally, battery is my main concern. I hate having to recharge a watch every day. This is the perfect smart watch I was looking for. It has enough battery so I don’t have to worry about it too frequently (10 days on easy use, 6-7 for me personally as I work out with it two or three times a week and that consumes more battery). It has very good fitness tracking features, which is mostly what I was looking for. I’ve found the sleep tracking to be very accurate, even detecting those small midnight wake ups every now and then. Of course, since this is Zepp OS, it doesn’t have too many apps and additional features to use, but that is also what helps the battery last so much. The Zepp App is a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it has a lot of useful information, and it’s a lot easier to see and set up the watch from it, then having to set it in the smaller watch face. I manage and set up most of the watch settings options from the smartphone app.If you are looking to respond to Whatsapps, use Google Maps, and use more complex apps in your smartphone, then this is not for you. Look for a Samsung one, but the trade off is the battery will be considerably shorter. If you are looking for a very long battery life and absolutely only fitness tracking, then you should look into a smart band, instead of a smart watch. If you are like me, and are looking for that ideal middle point at a budget friendly price, then this is what you are looking for. This is exactly what I wanted. Very happy with my purchase.

I’d never heard of Amazfit prior to a week or so ago. Which is okay; they’d never heard of me either. I certainly know who they are now!I found myself in need of a timepiece, but I wanted one that was a little more comprehensive than my usual Timex Ironman. A “smart” watch; something like an Apple Watch might’ve been nice; I’m a Mac adherent and have been for thirty-plus years. But research showed their watches possessing a hefty price tag and a skimpy battery life.Having received gift cards for my birthday, I looked around, did my homework, and finally decided to give the amusingly named Amazfit Bip a try. Or, more precisely, the Amazfit Bip 3 Pro. I guess that’s a Bip 3 that’s lost its amateur status. My initial thoughts on receiving it…hey! This is COOL! What you have here is a slick looking watch that does everything I could want it to do…heart monitoring, blood oxygen sensing, workout tracking, even sleep monitoring…and it does a lot more stuff Amazfit does a much better job at listing in its promo material than I would be able to do here. Of course you can change its face, and the amount of widgets available. I kinda like that; an overly busy display is annoying. Speaking of which, the display is big and readable even in bright sunlight, which at my age is pretty vital. I can get notifications on incoming messages and phone calls. The Zepp app (which comes in both iOS and Android flavors) makes it fairly easy to digest all of this incoming info. It’s all packed in a lightweight package that boasts a battery life of two weeks. I can’t verify that yet, but I’m almost a week in and I’m at 52% life remaining…and this is with a lot of playing around with the thing to learn how to use it and several workouts and hikes using the GPS. Yes, a GPS! With mapping, even! Now on to the downsides, such as they are. It’s not a Dick Tracy watch (I know, I am dating myself here) which means that I can be notified of incoming phone calls and texts, but not answer them. And I can’t play music on it. Control it, yes, play it, no. But honestly, these are two very minor gripes in a watch that comes in at under $60.But then…there is the execrable strap.Yes, It truly is awful: hot, sticky, and tight. Mind you, I am a large-framed person but frankly my wrists aren’t THAT big around. How a really buff guy could wear the Bip comfortably right out of the box just mystifies me. Now, you could stretch it–I’ve done this in the past with watches–but you don’t have to: quick-release pins make the silicone torture devices a cinch to swap out. I got a pack of three stretchy nylon straps for a little over $10 (I’ll include a link below) and, PRESTO! Problem solved. The watch is now comfortable, so much so that I barely notice wearing it. And it looks rather spiffy too. There’s plenty of colors and designs to choose from. And now? I really don’t see any downside to the Bip 3 Pro. Low cost, plenty of available data, easy to learn and use, customizable, and it looks good on your wrist. Mind you, I’m still waiting on a jetpack, but this sort of gee-whiz stuff may be a bit much for an old codger. Maybe a hoverboard…Link to the stretchy nylon replacement straps I got (there’s lots more that will work):https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZSW3RKS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

3 month update: I still live this watch. Frankly, it’s pretty darn good for the price, and I’m still happy I bought it. There are some quirky things: sometimes the watch disconnects from my phone. But a quick restart fixes that. I’m hard on my devices and there is a scratch on the watch face… But based on other reviews, I had expected that. As far as the accuracy of the health data and particularly the apnea tracking: well, it isn’t as accurate as the data from my cpap. Sometimes it tells me that I’ve had high apnea episodes when my cpap says I haven’t. But yanno, it clued me into the need for the cpap, so the apnea data isn’t as needed since I get that from my device. Otherwise,I still love this watch………………Original review: It has changed my life.Read on…I’d had a Fitbit Versa for nearly 3 years. Loved it, but then one day it literally fell off my wrist while I was at an event, and I didn’t notice it was gone until hours later. Retraced my steps, but never found it.So hunting for a replacement, I searched reviews for budget health watches. This Amazfit Bip Pro cost a third the price of a new Fitbit, with similar features. Purchased it. Set it up. Pleased with it…Except that it didn’t do one thing my Fitbit did: give me overnight sp02 readings. I miss that feature, because I’ve tracked my nighttime blood oxygen level for a year, and it seems to dip overnight. Average readings were 92%. I was concerned but had no idea what was causing it.Well, what Fitbit did not have, the Amazfit does: the reason that my sp02 dips at night: sleep apnea/hypopnea. From the very first night with my Amazfit, I was showing high risk hypopnea readings, +35 average, with some nights having +80 hypopnea events. It wasn’t until the consistent high risk hypopnea readings that I googled hypopnea and put all my symptoms together for female sleep apnea (poor rem sleep, drops in resting heart rate as well as resting sp02, daytime sleepiness, mild snoring, 20lbs overweight, late 50’s senior). I just thought this was all part of getting old! I never used to snore. I used to get better rem sleep. I never used to fall asleep in the daytime if I sat still. But like I said, I’d never connected the separate dots until wearing the Amazfit. So I downloaded an app, Snore Lab, to record myself snoring, and confirm I was actually having a problem. Um yeah, it isn’t super loud, but it was all night long snoring, every night! So now I’m using a cpap, and it is beginning to make a difference. Normal sp02, few if any hypopnea events, and my CPAP is giving me good data. Cpap therapy is taking a bit of getting used to, but I’m already noticing less sleepiness mid afternoon, and my waking sp02 on my Amazfit watch says a consistent 98% instead of low 90’s. Snore Lab results are excellent, normal sleep with no more snoring (it records the sound of me using my cpap mask, which is great).I hope this review helps you look at your own sleep patterns and if you’re having signs like mine, get checked out for sleep apnea!

First let me say I’ve owned galaxy watches for years. They have fantastic build quality, very tough and durable. But having to charge it every 36 hours just shouldn’t be a thing in this day. One other big gripe is the lack of quality watch faces. With the Amazefit Bip 3 pro, yes the name could be better but the charge lasts 2 weeks. Getting around the interface is silky smooth. The watch faces are so much nicer.I really hope it holds up, but even if it doesn’t last 2 years, I could buy 5 more and still come out better. I like it a bunch so far!

I had this smart watch for a little over 3 months. I brought it for a birthday gift for myself. Coming from the fossil gen 5, whom battery was terrible. This right here, is a game changer! for working out or to use casually.- Affordable price, love it!- Screen is bright and colorful- This smartwatch battery actually lasts a long time, legit.- You can upload and use your own wallpaper using the app: zepp- The only apps I used mainly where the stopwatch and alarm, that’s already on the watch.- Its water resistant, being in the rain or sprinkled water from washing dishes, wont damage it.(I’m still playing with the settings for adjustments. But man this watch is cool.)

I’ve been using several versions of Fitbit for the last 10 years. They’re good but hardly passed a 2-year usefulness. And I have been a very careful user of smart watch, never using it in a gym’s sauna or spa even if it is rated water-proof or water-resistant.I decided to try Amazfit when my latest Fit it conked out and I am so blown away with all the WAY MORE features that this watch offer, at less than half the price! So far this has been reliable for the last few weeks since I bought it, and let me tell you, the calls that I received from the unit were so good that my friend would be getting one after he also got a pair of earbuds that I recommended earlier. He said that the conversation we had using the watch was loud and clear. And the apps that you needed notifications were not so limited like the previous brand I mentioned. THIS is a big plus for me. And the different preset timers were perfect for my cooking. No more “Hey Google” to set timers. Not lastly, the types of activity programs are so diversed, and you can pick one with easy navigation. And the battery life is insanely good.YES, I would recommend this watch to anyone thinking of a smart watch

I’ve owned a couple of bands and a GTS4 in the past and was never really happy with any of them, they all had bugs that were at least irritating. So far I haven’t had a single problem with the BIP 5 itself, sport tracking is great, the phone answering on the wrist is surprisingly good. My only complaint is that the ZEPP app still does not sync in the background on Android even with battery management disabled. If you don’t actually start up the app manually on your phone, activities will never be synced into the phone, out to Fit or Strava or anything. Apparently it’s been like this for years. I don’t know why they can’t fix this.
