Bought a new laptop (LG Gram 17 inch 2022 32RAM 2TB) and I wanted to buy an external disc reader/writer for my library of well-preserved physical Rosetta Stone collections I’ve bought over the years. This worked perfectly for my needs. It works with Windows 11, is nice and compact, and stays in place very well.It doesn’t move at all when switching out discs during installs.Easy to re-package and store safely in its original box until needed.I don’t use it for anything other than what I explained above. However, if I did need it for any other purpose I’m confident it will complete the task. Price not too bad. Nice looking design, I like that the cord can store away, because as I said, I don’t have it out except when I need to use it for a specific purpose.Very satisfied. Another quality ASUS product.

Device was instantly recognized on my Dell XPS laptop using Windows 11 Pro. No complex install procedure. Easily read and copied files form laptop to device and back. ASUS provided software is on the included install disk. I did not need it and so cannot rate the software. Simple device, easy to install, has a cable tuck corner to hide cable when not in use. Perfect size for tossing in your travel back.

I’m doing this because I’m shocked. I am one of those ancient people who struggles with, no, I hate the Comcast remote, I’m phone challenged and everything is a struggle. Did I mention I’m old? So this external DVD Drive arrives and my expectations are zero, but I have a DVD I can’t replace or find at my local library so I’m desperate. I had a Pioneer external DVD Drive for several years and it worked 80% of the time, but it could not rip this one file on this DVD that I want. I got frustrated and tore the top off it. I felt much better, but I still did not have the file I wanted. The DVD drive in my desktop wouldn’t work either. So I opened the Asus and right off I see I have to buy an adaptor so the usb-c will fit in my usb 2 laptop. Not happy. It arrives 2 days later and now comes the test. It ripped it as though nothing was wrong with the DVD !!! All I did was plug it in and run MKV, no downloads and I did not even look at the instructions, CD or DVD that came with it. Am I pleased? Happy?? You bet and it was 30% of the price of my old Pioneer..

This model works well, much better than the last cheaper one that was inconsistent, slow, and sometimes seemed to get hung up in an infinite loop. This one works (and sounds) like I’m used to in my last few desktop computers. Seems just as fast but of course it’ll always seem slow compared to modern solid state drives. But sometimes you just need to deal with a CD or DVD, and this drive will do the trick.

I bought it so I could play old school pc game Diablo II:LOD on my ASUS 2023 TUF A17 17.3″ 144Hz FHD Gaming Laptop and it works perfectly. I’ve had no problems with speed or graphics.

The Asus ZenDrive has a small footprint very light, I use with a Intel NUC 11 and Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. The built in cable is nice and compact. Asus includes some backup software that allows you to backup your PCs.

I have a new laptop that doesn’t have a cd/dvd drive. I still needed to access some old material on CD’s, so I bought this drive. Very compact and silent, and works extremely well. A single cord takes power and data from the computer, and pushes back into the case of the cd drive when done. Very pleased with this purchase.
