Updated review (2024-01-26):I could not contact Acer technical support, so I requested a return & replacement from Amazon. A few days after my initial review, the Amazon replacement Acer 7-in-1 USB-C hub arrived.The replacement hub is working as designed. The three 5 Gbps ports (two USB-A 3.1 and one USB-C 3.1) all are providing solid 4 Gbps read / 3.5 Gbps write speeds, which are likely being limited by the connected NMVe device or SSD controller.I would recommend this hub to anyone interested in purchasing it, but be sure to check all the ports for proper functionality when it arrives.I have updated my product rating to reflect the functionality of the replacement Acer USB-C 7-in-1 hub.Original review (2024-01-24):I bought this Acer USB-C hub to extend the media read/write capabilities of my existing 10 Gbps USB 3.2 hub.I connected a NVMe Samsung 980 Pro SSD USB-C 3.2 drive to the Acer hub, and saw approx. 4 Gbps read/3.5 Gbps write transfer rates for the two USB-A 3.1 connections. These rates are really good, and pretty close to the theoretical 5 Gbps rate. The file transfer / USB protocol overheads and NVMe enclosure’s controller limitations probably are the real limitation preventing 5 Gbps transfer rates.However, I can only get 400 Mbps transfer rates when using the “5 Gbps” USB-C connector on the hub. When I remove the Acer hub and use the same USB-C to USB-C cable on the same PC connector, I see the 4 Gbps read/ 3.5 Gbps write rates I saw with the Acer hub’s USB-A 3.1 connections.I suspect that my hub’s USB-C 5 Gbps connector may be defective, and will be contacting Acer support for help.I will update my review with the results.

Compact, enough ports for us. Just right.

This multi-port device has the same look and feel as the several Acer computers that I’ve owned over the years. Very nice & sturdy quality. I have not tried every port but, those that I have worked perfectly. No drivers or downloads required, just plug and play. This will probably last a lifetime!

The media could not be loaded. 2nd EDIT: Not only did the company offer a refund, they also generously shipped me another unit, and it works just as it should! They gave fast responses when the first unit gave me issues, and addressed it as well as you possibly could. I would use them any time!EDIT: the company quickly reached out and offered a full refund as a result of a faulty product. For me, that goes a long way. I have plenty of ACER products and normally have no issues with them. could have just been a faulty single product.Very bummed. For the first 2 hours of use it worked great. When it’s just USB-C to HDMI connected it works fine, but the second I go to plug my Mac in, while using the HDMI to stream to my monitor, the screen begins flashing every second or two on both my Mac, and the monitor. The flashing screen is happening at the same time the Mac keeps making its “chime” that the charger is connected, over and over again. Clearly something is going on that the charging is not staying active. whenever the charger is first connected it causes a quick(ish)black screen, which I could live with if it just happened right as I plugged the charger in… but when the charger KEEPS thinkings it’s just getting plugged in over and over, and keeps flashing, it kind of makes the product useless. And I’ve already thrown the box away so I guess I’m stuck with a product that doesn’t work. Super bummer.
