How to increase Effort Levels in Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Improve Pokemon stats)

[ad_1]

Last Updated:

With any Pokemon game, while the aim is to ‘Catch ‘Em All’, you’ll also be fighting some fearless opponents on your adventures. This means you have to train up those Pokemon you’ve caught, hoping that you don’t black out and end up back at the last visited Pokemon Center.

With Pokemon Legends: Arceus this is no different. Training up your Pokemon is essential to progression as the challenges grow more difficult as you open up more areas in Hisui. What has changed, though, apart from the whole going back in time thing, is that you’re able to improve specific Pokemon stat areas with a certain item, thus allowing you to give your party a little boost when it needs it most.

This is called increasing Effort Level and we’re going to give you all the details you need below.

How to improve Pokemon stats with Effort Levels

If you want to boost your Pokemon’s stats through Effort Levels, you’ll first need some Grit Dust. After this, you simply open up your bag, hover over the Grit Dust item and hit A. Then, select the Pokemon you want to improve and hit A on the again. This will bring up another menu showing which stats you can improve. Choose from HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Def, or Speed and hit A once more. Your desired stat should now have been elevated.

The caveat with using Grit Dust to improve Pokemon is that this can only be done up to three times for each stat. So, you can’t plough a bunch of Grit Dust into your Pokemon to basically make them invincible despite their level.

You can also catch Pokemon that have might have maximum Effort Levels already but hey, more Grit Dust to use on other Pokemon in your party right?

If you want to pick up yourself some Grit Dust you can do so by completing requests for various individuals in Hisui who will give you Grit Dust as a reward, by purchasing it from vendors, or finding it out and about in the lands of Hisui.

Grit Dust is a little on the rare side so we wouldn’t waste it on Pokemon you’re likely to send to the Pastures but it’s not impossible to get your hands on so a few tests here and there won’t be too disastrous.
