This summer my fiance requested a Fitbit. One night there was a sale too good to pass up, so I quickly did as much research as I could and weighed it with what my fiance wanted in a fitness band. I got her the Alta back in late June and she loved it! After having it for a week or two and really getting acquainted with it, she started showing me all the stuff it tracked in the app and I was seriously impressed. As a longtime Samsung Gear Fit user, I saw the Fitbit app blew the Gear Fit’s out of the water. When I originally got my Gear Fit I wanted something that tracked my heart rate and steps but also could show me time, texts, and notifications from certain apps, as I missed wearing an actual watch, but wanted some tech too. While I still wanted a watch, I decided to get myself the smallest, cheapest Fitbit so I too could utilize the app, and I am thrilled with this little guy. So these days I still wear my Gear Fit on my watch arm and the Flex 2 on my other wrist. It works for me and I am very happy. The thing I love about the Flex 2 is its size. It is so small! My one main problem with the Gear Fit was that it was just a bit too big to sleep with on, as it would cause my arm to really fall asleep badly, so I could never utilize the sleep function of the watch. Even the Alta my fiance has is too big for her (causes the same problem on her as my Samsung does with me) but this Flex 2 poses no such problem with me, so I have been really happy that I can now track my sleep. It has given me some serious insight into how I spend my sleeping hours.Overall, I lover this thing! The app is superb, the Fitbit is tiny, water resistant, and holds a good charge. The band is nice too. The next smartwatch I get will be more aesthetically pleasing and less fitness based because I’ve got this little Flex 2 that tracks all the fitness type stuff I need.

Ok, I am a longtime Fitbit user and was hoping the Fitbit2 would be a quantum improvement on an otherwise great product. After using it for a few weeks I can say that it certainly is.The core functions of the original Fitbit always served my running workout routine well. However I always wished I could use it in the pool. That said I was skeptical it would actually record my lap swim accurately. It worked great, better than hoped for. My first clue that this was a quantum improvement came after the first gym visit wearing the Fitbit2. It recognized that I was on a elliptical machine and recorded it promptly. For the swim, I set the pool length (finding how to do that was not easy though) and started in. I also set it to notify me when I passed my 45 minute first benchmark. I also used a watch and counter also to make things honest. At 45 minutes the band vibrated which I could feel in the water. After I found it had not only correctly timed the 1 hour swim, but had correctly calculated the distance and added to the Dashboard!! Wow, just what I needed!!I noticed a few concerns, but nothing that have kept me from being impressed. All and all, so far HIGHLY recommend.Pros: 1. Does all the original Fitbit did in a smaller more secure package 2. GREAT for swimming laps. No need to wear a separate swimming watch. 3. Update process was smooth 4. Better appearance and stronger clasp.Cons: 1. Seems to last about 5 days between charges, old one was 7. That may change as I stabilize my usage pattern. 2. Not simple to program swim mode. Seems simple after you figure it out but not immediately intuitive. 3. The way the device inserts into the band requires bending the band. This concerns me that band breakage such as with the Fitbit1 may become a problem again.

This was my first Fitbit device, and I am very pleased with its performance. I had debated getting the Flex 2 or the Alta, but chose the Flex 2 for its slim profile, waterproof design, and lower price point. I have yet to incur water damage, and the five-light design is very minimalist yet informative. One of the main reasons for purchasing a Fitbit was for the silent alarms, as my alarm would annoy both my roommate and me in the mornings. Although I at first set backup alarms on my phone, I turned them off as I realized the Flex 2 had very strong vibrations that have never failed to wake me up in nearly a month’s use.A common complaint is the press-on design of the band, and at first, I was disappointed at how difficult it was to put this on. However, after use, it became much more comfortable to put it on, but not to the point where I felt it was in danger of falling off by itself. Finally, I love the Fitbit software, whether online or on mobile. I like the social aspect, particularly the friendly competitions and challenges. Although this model lacks a heart rate monitor, I use my Samsung Galaxy S7’s heart rate sensor in conjunction with my fitbit to track my exercise statistics.PROS:Slim and minimalist designDurable bandWaterproof pebbleStrong, effective vibrations (alarms, notifications)SoftwareCONS:no HR monitor (not truly a con at this price point)I did not receive any compensation for this review. I’ve been using this for almost a week. I bought this Fitbit because my doctor recommended it. I like that it is simple but effective, and at a good price point. It really is no imposition to wear, as it is very light and comfortable. The bands are generously sized. It comes with small and large size. Based on my wrist measurement, I thought I would have to wear the large, but the small fits comfortably. I like that there are options to wear it as jewelry, but I am happy with the extra set of colored bands I bought.I was surprised at how accurately it measures my activity. It seems like it is reasonably close for accuracy. It’s nice that it auto-detects activity so I don’t have to remember to turn it on. It does a good job tracking my sleep. I like the easy water tracking feature and you can also add what you eat. It also has a way for women to track their cycles. It DOES NOT track stairs climbed (except to add steps toward your daily goal) and it does not track heart rate. I did not test it for swimming although the package says it will do that.Overall, this is a good activity tracker for someone just starting out, maybe not sure if they want to drop a couple hundred bucks or so for a premium tracker. I feel like I get good value for the roughly 60 dollars I spent for this one.

This is a nice intro to fitness tracking devices. I don’t need a lot of the fancier functionality that the more expensive trackers have, like GPS tracking or a screen. The features I find the most useful, to be honest, are the sleep tracker, the alarm, and vibrating when I’m getting a call. It’m trying to get on a better sleep schedule, and having visuals and reminders are really helpful. The alarm I use as a backup for my normal morning alarm, and then I also use it to tell me when I need to leave for work (I have a bad habit of not paying attention to the time), when I need to take my medicine, and when I should start getting ready for bed. I also have a tendency to leave my phone somewhere in the house on silent and missing phone calls because of it.The one feature I thought I would find most useful was the text alerts, but I haven’t managed to get that to work. I’m actually kind of happy I didn’t though. I didn’t realize how much I would value the alarm feature and I get a lot of texts, so I think the vibration would become meaningless at that point. This also really opened my eyes to how much water I was drinking (or wasn’t drinking, as the case may be…). When I started tracking that I realized I needed to start drinking more. It’s nice having that ll in one place. And I normally only have to charge this once every three days, which I can do in the hour I’m sitting in bed watching tv and not moving.Next time I get one of these I may get one that can track reps at the gym or something like that, but for now this suits my purposes and it’s too bulky to wear all the time.

I like wearing a regular watch and this tracker allows me to track my steps without having to wear a second watch.

If (like me) you are looking for a low-profile fitness tracker that you can wear every day, but you already wear a watch that you like, AND are fashion conscious so you don’t want to wear something that LOOKS like a fitness tracker, this is the Fitbit for you!! I previously used the Bellabeat, and while I liked it okay (it looked nice and discrete clipped to my shirt or neck hem of a dress), it stopped tracking steps after only a few weeks. Customer service was not good, so it just sits abandoned in my dresser. This Fitbit Flex 2 has (so far) worked SO much better, and as I wear it constantly (the sleep tracking is great) I don’t forget to put it on! I can’t speak to how accurate it is, but quite frankly I don’t care so much – I needed something that helped encourage me to get out and be more active, and this does it! I feel a lot of pride when I beat my goals for the day – the flashing lights and buzzing when I pass my step goals are like a party on my wrist. I also really like the app – it is much easier to use than the Bellabeat. In order to ensure I don’t make a fashion faux pas, I purchased several bands, as well as a pretty charm that fits over the original black band – everyone just thinks it is a bracelet, and people have even complemented me on it! It is super easy to switch the bands and charm. The only negative is that i’ve found the battery life to be a bit less than advertised, although I’ve never actually let it die (maybe I should just to confirm how long it lasts). But in the end, it hasn’t really been a problem for me. Basically every 2-3 days I stick it on the charger for 20 minutes while I’m in the shower, and it is fully charged by the time I get out!

I had the last flex and hated it. I returned it after trying to like it for 2 weeks and still hating it. I’m really not a fan of wearing anything on my wrists at all and I have small wrists and a wrist bone that sticks out…and no matter the band on the last flex it irritated my wrist, it was clunky, and unattractive. I really wanted a Fitbit and to like them since most of my friends and family have one, but all the ones they kept coming out with were just bigger, clunkier, and uglier. After seeing this new one in stores I got excited and ordered it, but was very very skeptical. I am still in shock at how much I LOVE this thing! It is SO small and lightweight and even when I use the wristband I can hardly tell I have it on. I actually wore it on the band yesterday and panicked a couple times thinking it had come off and I lost it because I couldn’t feel it in my wrist, but nope. It was still there. I also LOVE that I can wear it on a clip! I bought the high-rated, off-brand, magnetic clip on here and use that most of the time clipped over my bra strap. I constantly forget I have it on. This thing is also DEAD ON ACCURATE, unlike the old flex I had. No matter how I calibrated my old flex it was off by like 30 steps in 100. This one is dead on, even when I wear it as a clip! I also thought it might bother me not being able to see actual steps on a readout, but every light is a quarter of your goal and it’s easy to see. Plus, I usually just check my app for my steps anyway. Overall, I am one VERY happy customer and Fitbit has won back an unsatisfied customer! It’s tiny, lightweight, accurate, waterproof, and you can wear it on a clip of in a pendant and not just on your wrist. What’s not to love?!

This product has essentially changed my life. I’m a fit person. I work out every day and eat ridiculously healthy so of course, I would assume, my daily steps would be significantly higher than an average person’s. I was dead wrong. Fitbit really introduced me to a community of people who take their health seriously and care about their well being.I chose this particular device because of how slender and small it is. I didn’t want something that would weigh down on my wrist or something that would immediately draw attention to it. The waterproof ability of it means I can take it on swims, in the shower, on runs, and anywhere else I need to go. I almost never take this thing off. I love tracking my progress throughout the day and using it as both an alarm and the primary notification whenever I’m getting a call. The battery usually lasts me 3-4 days before I need a solid charge and I’ll just leave it on for an hour or two while I’m sitting around the house before I grab it.In the future I’ll probably buy a version which recognizes rising heart rates and elevation changes. Some of the things I’ll do routinely like lifting weights and climbing at elevation aren’t recognized by the device. Although I can manually enter the type of workout I’m doing, its up to me to estimate the calories burned in the activity.

I’ve owned several Fitbit devices with the HR feature, but I decided to buy an Apple Watch so I didn’t need them anymore. So I thought..after only a week I really missed the Fitbit features and decided on the flex 2 so I could wear it on the same wrist as my watch. The lights will light when you reach so many steps throughout the day. You can also get phone and text notifications. I don’t use those features so I have those 2 turned off. I use the alarm feature to wake me up in the am and to remind me it’s time to clock in at work. It tracks sleep…I honestly don’t think any of them are very good at sleep tracking..but that’s my opinion. I love the fact that it’s waterproof and I can wear it in the shower. I never take it off but to charge it. All of the other Fitbits I owned (charge Hr and the blaze) the bands gave me a rash and I had to take them off frequently. The flex 2 hasn’t done that yet. Not sure if it’s because of the thinner band or why. I love how thin the band is. I don’t have a problem putting it on or taking it off. I ordered a 3 pack of different color bands directly from their website to change them out. Overall..if you don’t need the hr feature, stairs climbed and don’t need to know the exact count of your steps without looking on the app this is a great option.
