This is my first time using a fitness tracker and I didn’t want to spend too much money. For what I want, this tracker works for me. My goal was to track my workouts and calories in and out, everything else is just a nice to have. For the watch, the only issue I have is sometimes not being able to get it to respond when I want to pause an exercise. For the app, there is way more than what I need. I like being able to log my food and being able to scan a barcode is so convenient. In my opinion, the only downside is the limited exercises available…there are only so many to choose from and you aren’t able to add more. Otherwise, I think this is a great fitness tracker for a first time user.

Still getting 5 stars BUT a few cons in the operation of the device and the app. It’s an incredible product.CONSOn the device you can’t disable some menu options and get them out of the way even though you don’t use them, like payments for example. On the app sometimes it just doesn’t connect- like changing device settings such as the watch face- not sure if just my phone or device.PROSI got the Charge 5 specifically because it doesn’t have all the smart watch features like text notifications for example. But still has a beautiful color screen and the ability to see in real time your heart rate, steps, calories burned, and zone minutes which I don’t understand. To review your sleep you must sync to your phone then you can see an overview from the device screen or in detail from the app.The app is very powerful- tons of ways to make sense of all the data points it collectsI believe the sleep tracking is excellent. This was the main feature I wanted. The watch is easy to take on and off. It’s hard to interact with the display of your hands are wet.I have it on constantly and usually charge it every 5 days. It charges very quickly- like an hour or so.The heart rate tracking is very accurateThere is a stress level test where you it measures electrical activity in your skin- I believe this test is useless because you have to squeeze the sides of the devise for 1-3 minutes or so- which is just not as accessible to do in the middle of the day or something. The alarm feature is great- it just silently vibrates your wristFor that reason alone I love it because I can get up and out of the house early without waking my family with a loud alarm.Random stuffYou can buy third party wrist straps.Sometimes the device freezes and you have to plug it into the charger and use the reset button

I’m nearing 70 years of age and have had some trouble sleeping and know I’ve been way too sedentary. After reading/watching many reviews of the Charge 5 I hoped that it would provide some insight to my sleeping difficulty and, perhaps, the “Premium” app would add some motivation to be more active. I’ve now owned and worn my Charge 5 since 5-April and I’ve been delighted with both the device and the app. At first I did notice that battery life seemed rather short but some brief research online pointed to a solution which worked very well. For your convenience, let the Charge 5 run down to less than 20%, charge it to 100% then do a “Restart” from the “Settings” menu on the device. While doing that I also changed the “Screen Awake” setting to “Manual” (I have to double-tap the screen to see anything) and I have since been averaging 9-10 days between charges. The information it provides about my sleep is quite interesting and informative as are some of the tips for sleeping better provided in the app. The heart-rate monitor and blood-oxygen sensor on the Charge 5 also agrees with the finger-tip monitor I got shortly after the Covid pandemic was declared. Furthermore, while I’ve had no heart trouble I’m still reassured that I can catch any problem early with the recent update to the heart-rhythm monitor function. I am also pleased that the “Health Metrics” section of the app confirmed my suspicion that I’m pretty fit for an old man despite too many years sitting in front of a computer. As the weather gets warmer I’m sure I’ll get even more active and can be confident in seeing quantifiable evidence of the effects. One last thing, I had some trepidation regarding wearing the Charge 5 24/7 since I haven’t worn a watch in decades and have never worn any jewelry. The device is very light and it has proved to be of no concern whatsoever. Most of the time I’m not even aware of it on my wrist until I need to set an exercise, see my heart rate or how many steps I’ve taken, etc.

Absolutely love my Fitbit. Keeps me accountable and keeps me movin.’No complaints. This is my 4th over several years. The Charge 5 is my favorite model so far. Tracks workouts, steps, calories, heart rate among many things. Love that I can buy interchangeable bands to suit my mood or my clothes.Worth every penny in my opinion.

I love the fitbit watches, I tried a few others over the years and this is the best one I think. I like that I only have to charge it once a week. The other smartwatches I had to charge either daily or every other day and I can’t remember to that so the once a week charge is perfect for my life style. I tried the premium and thought it was just okay. Not worth the money for the extra features that I really did not need or use.

This was my first time owning and using a fitbit and this is a likeable fitness watch. On sale i have no hesitantion to recommend and would purchase again at the black Friday type of price i got in 2022, 99$ I think. I used the 6 month trial of health functions and found I didn’t care to obsess over every little detail anymore- though for the first months I did so(maybe just because I could) . Just the basics, track stuff, am I sleeping enough, and sure, am I not having A fib, ! No, joke my neighbor was diagnosed and years later, died of it. Best to catch it early!I do appreciate the ecg function and have even once popped my watch on an older friend and tested them before they started a gym membership; it made them feel better about their health status and was at least some measure of okay- ness . I sometimes feel flutters in my chest and have been able to run the 30 sec. scan right on the spot and reassure myself to keep going.I can’t give a deep dive review as an athlete but I have used the waterproof mode for tracking my recreational swimming/ exercise. When I am on Bluetooth my messages come through. I am hesitant to add a payment card to the watch since there are no software updates— is it safe? Sometimes I swipe to payment face accidentally but I know it would be super convenient if needed. I’ve used my phone that was before. The only thing is that the watch face styles are limited. There is only 1 style that I can read the watch face without my glasses. But, at least there is the 1. I take them off in the gym.Ok, good luck and good health!

I rated it overall a 5 star because the sleep tracker wasn’t a real selling point for me. I find that the sleep tracker is a little “bogus”. I woke up one night around 2 am to use the bathroom and realized my battery was very low so I decided to just charge it the rest of the night. The next morning it showed my supposed sleep pattern and heart rate info all the way through past 6 am. I wasn’t even wearing it and it was obviously connected to the charger. Everything else I love about it. The steps counter seems to be very accurate, as I’ve watched it count as I’m walking and it’s right on the money. I love that it “knows” when I do an activity (except it counts some of my walks as ‘elliptical’ workouts because my neighborhood is very hilly – but I’m okay with that because it is like an elliptical.) I love that I can sync MyFitnessPal to it and it keeps up with my calories, etc. automatically. I love the free trial of premium because of the available workouts that I can cast to my TV and it keeps track of my fitbit info – heart rate, etc on my TV screen so I can visualize my progress as I work out. I love the difference watch face choices in the app. The ECG has been very informative. I have noticed that I felt palpitations occasionally and thought it was nothing but too much caffeine, but it caught one episode of afib so far so I will be getting checked out for that. You can actually download the ECG for your own records or to send to your physician, etc. I printed mine out and I can see the afib pattern. The only thing for me has been that by the time I feel a palpitation and swipe through to get to the ECG screen on the Fitbit and get it started, the palpitations have stopped most of the time. One other thing I really really like is that there are many many band choices online that are really inexpensive (but read reviews so you don’t buy ones that will easily break or fall off) I’ve bought about 8-10 bands in different colors and styles so I can change my band to match my outfit or mood. All in all I love it and it has helped me drop about 10 pounds so far in about a month. I’d definitely recommend it.

I am happy with the performance of my fit bit, though as a senior in my late 80s setting up was tedious requiring assistance.
