The resolution is limited to 1080, however, it is very bright and works great for daytime use. I ordered these for meetings in a gym and a very large foyer in our building. The only “issue” i encountered is the rear feet are not adjustable. Besides that, I had a fantastic experience and they worked as expected for me with great picture quality.

We’ve used this for a month in a home theater setup with Mac Mini (for internet) and a DVD player. It projects on a large classroom-size screen in our living room. Audio is sent directly out of the Mac Mini to a state of the art sound system. The whole thing is rather impressive. But I digress. Optoma HD39HDR has nice, clear images and it never goes out of focus. The only thing I’ve found to be a problem is that when you are projecting in 4/3 aspect ratio for DVD and then go back to the 16/9 for internet, the color is all messed up, being to red and too rich. People all look like they’ve spent the night in a toaster oven. The remedy–just turn the projector off and after 10 seconds turn on again and it will go back to normal. I love the rather economical bulb which is supposed to last years. In the econ mode, which preserves bulb life, the brightness is just fine for our living room. Our previous Otoma projector lasted 10 years with c. 4-5 hours operation per day every day. I hope this one will be as good.

The media could not be loaded. I shopped several projectors, and have tried 2 others before this one, but this was EXACTLY what I was after. This works when the lights are on in the room. I set this up in my garage where I had 4 LED shop lights and the light from the garage door on and you can still see the picture. Better if you can turn the light off directly above the screen, but usable if not. The picture is fantastic. I have it connected to a surround sound system so I cannot say if the sound is good.I have heard people talk to the fact that the fan is a little noisy in bright mode, but I changed mine to Eco+ and not only did the fan go almost completely silent but the picture barely dimmed. I keep it in Eco+ because I really can’t tell much of a difference in the picture, and it is still very bright. Not 4K quality, but I doesn’t really claim to be, but it is really good 1080P.See the pictures to show with 4 shop lights on, in the dark and then one to show the quality on a paused screen. There is no lag in sports events. All of the photos and the video are in eco+

Purchased this projector back in 2020 and have close to 4k hours on it so far. Here’s a few things you should know before purchasing.1) When switching between apps, games, video source or even just clicking a menu or home button it’s very common for this projector to pop up a blue screen for around 8-15 seconds. If you’re looking for a very fast, smooth and top notch projector this ain’t it2) the projector gives off a considerable amount of heat, I live in the desert and already have enough of that so I used a window AC unit to combat the additional heat3) it’s a good projector, I’ve used it on 20ft inflatable screens, big garage doors, large walls and most commonly my projector screen and it has always displayed a good image. I’m very happy with the lumen output, refresh rate and easily customizable display settings but I have to say at this price point I do believe there are better options out there so I would urge you to keep looking.

I’ve been using projectors for about 15 years now. My latest was the Hd146X, I had it in a bad location and it regularly overheated and crapped out after 2 years because of my own fault.I bought the HD39HDRx as a direct replacement for it. at the time of purchase it’s only $30ish or so more than the 146x so I figure i’d try it.Things you should know, it has minimal features. Most significantly Keystone! you can ajust the keystone if the project is higher or lower than center, but if it’s (significantly) left or right of center DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECTOR!! There is no LEFT OR RIGHT KEYSTONE. Also if youre using it for gaming and need to use the heigh related keystone the keystone is disabled during gaming mode. Which is really weird. The Hd146x allowed for gaming mode and keystone. So basically if you can’t have your projector close to center vertically and horizontally, any you’re expecting to use keystone don’t expect alot out of this. It’s a height reletated keystone only, and it looks like a digital keystone which means it will crop the image, so you’ll lose imagine quality the more you keystone. If keystone is not a problem, and you can position your projector accordingly this bad boy is BRIGHT as heck! I would consider it one of the best value’s on the market for a bright 1080 HDR projector. If keystone isn’t a issue I would not hesitate to get this thing, for budget home theater/gaming.IT IS BRIGHT!!! the brightest project i’ve ever owned, and should suit most peoples needs. It’s even too bright at night with my screen. So the eco mode is more than bright enough for me.That means savings since the bulb will last longer. The bulb on my previous optoma projector lasted longer than the DLP chip 2+ years. So I expect it’s entirely possible this projector’s bulb will last the estimated 4years. I would be happy with 3 though.I’ve only had this projector for a few days, I’ll update it if anything changes, but I really wanted to comment on the keystone situation for anyone considering this projector.

When connected with xbox some games and apps don’t support hdr so I get blue screen interruptions which is extremely frustrating. And the hdmi cec doesn’t work properly so I cannot use the xbox to turn the projector on or off without using the remote. Noise and quality are great though. These issues are not from Xbox or projector settings both are enabled properly.

It wouldn’t power up 3 weeks before one year warranty was up. I called and got a live person who immediately sent a RMA form. I filled it out and they sent a RMA number. I shipped it and in four days there was a new unit at my door.( I live less than 100 mi away) This is a great company

I came from an Optoma gt1080 short throw projector when i moved to a new apartment. The HD39HDR is pretty great. The only flaws that I’ve noticed are things that I *could* fix, like perfect placement so that I don’t have to use keystone/zoom, but I don’t have the patience. I have it connected to my gaming PC via hdmi, and i love it. I watch movies, play AAA games, and surf the web, on a 100″ diagonal screen, from ~12′ away. It all just works. The price has only gotten better. If you need a totally respectable 1080p projector, this is a great choice.

This is my first projector purchase and I love it. I use it for my PS5 and the picture quality is excellent and response rate is top notch. I find this better for gaming than our high end LED TV. We currently are projecting an approximately 86″ picture with the projector mounted on the ceiling, about 6 feet from the screen.Currently we’re using the built in speaker, and it’s fine. I wouldn’t expect much from a projector speaker as it’s really meant to be paired with a surround sound system, which is currently on the way! very happy with the purchase.

I did not own any other projector before this. I have a huge love for cinema so I decided to create a home theater on a budget with no help. I did not want to buy a cheap one and suffer with the quality, so I took the chance and invested in this one. I did hours upon hours of research, trying to see which one would be the highest quality under 1,000. There wasn’t much information on this one compared to some more popular models so it was hard to make a decision especially with how untrustworthy some of the reviews can be on this website. I am very pleased and relieved to say that this was one of the best purchases that I have ever made. I use it almost every single day, I even use it to play competitive video games. The input delay is nonexistent, it is truly incredible. Such good quality too, the movies look incredible. I could not recommend this more, you will not be disappointed.
