So I didn’t really think it would make THAT much of a difference but it does. Everything clearer, no static and also don’t have to worry about the dam xbox controller turning off when I’m watching streaming services. Cords are sufficiently long. The only two downside things are that you are 100 percent wired which is a small sacrifice for the boost in sound quality. Be prepared to be like the old days yelling at your siblings to watch the cord. I just sit close enough to where you can only go around me one way and solves the issue. Also the dac literally has no off switch and when you turn off the xbox it does not turn off no matter even if you are in full shutdown mode and not quick start. Expect the lights to stay on no matter what. I’ve just taken to unplugging the power cable from the back of the dac and hoping the repeated unplugging and replugging will not be harmful in the long run. Some people suggested getting a usb switcher so you can just switch off it when you are done playing. As for the headphones are comfortable and sound great but also ear cups lay flat plus headband is adjustable. I had no issues setting it up. Just plug the power cable into the USB on the xbox and that goes to the back of the dac. The included optical connection is required to get sound from your Xbox but the trick is that x/s no longer have an optical out. You’ll need to either hook it up to a hdmi signal splitter or some TV have an optical out which is what I used.Also you have to update your firmware before you can get voice chat on xbox and worse yet it will not auto update. If it’s not 36797 or later it will not work. You have to manually find it not on their site the firmware and update it. If you need help finding it. Ask me a question and I’ll help. Now all this seems like too many hoops for you to jump through then maybe this isn’t for you. I feel it’s worth it and honestly setup is super quick once you know what to do.

I went though probably 3-4 $90-$100 headsets in 3 years. My friend had always told me to buy ASTRO A40s +Mixamp bc he was still using his 6-7yr old set, but I could never bring myself to drop $250 on a headset. After my $100 RIG broke, I finally gave in got me a set and I couldn’t be happier. Its been almost 3 years and I haven’t had to replace any parts yet. I drop it on the floor from about 2-3ft all the time bc I hook it on my cabinet with a stuck on wall hook . My kid comes and spins my chair around and sometimes I leave the headset on my headrest so the cord gets wrapped around it and falls down etc. Long story short is, this headset is SUPER DURABLE. You have to TRY to break this headset to do any damage. 10/10 headset here. Will last you a long time plus you have amazing sound that is fully customizable with the astro app and equalizer settings saved on presets for games, tv, music

I can believe I could climax from audio but things happen. Lol nah but seriously this headset is a very smart investment if you want to experience immersive audio on a different level. I can’t explain in words how different the mix amp makes the experience, with out the headphones felt lifeless. The mix amp is definitely the soul of the headphones and you can hear it once you have everything together. Don’t get frustrated with the update process for the mixamp, just redownload command center from the store and keep switching around the cords if it’s not detecting. Eventually mine detected it, but not automatic update. Just go to the top right setting tab in command center and keep clicking the auto update option it eventually prompted me for an auto update. Whole process took like 20 mins after all the cord sorting and stuff, but definitely worth it for the audio. Sidenote also I play on XSX and I use the PS5 hdmi adapter for the optical input, doing this method will drop you’re resolution to 1080p but personally I think that’s the way to go if you really want to have the audio this god sent piece of equipment provides. My son asked for this headset for Christmas and he is very happy with the comfort and sound of it.

I bought this thing so late in the game but I’ve used Astro wireless before. I have top of the line wireless headsets but I bought this because I moved to PC and I wanted wired cuz I will just tell you right now this thing still keeps up pretty much with the newer headsets. The drivers are a little muddy because they are old school but I use this thing every day over headsets that were made in 2022. I still think it’s a very viable headset in 2024
