I love it when reputable brands have cheap and simple products. This thing works perfectly to turn on my Denon receiver which is in a completely different room. Now we can control the receiver without the need for an expensive universal remote.

My wife recently bought a new TV Console with has doors that close off the electronics. This little device seems to transmit the IR signals from the remote into the closed off area of the console. Everything works as advertised. The setup was simple, in fact I never read the instructions. One thing is just to ensure you have the receiver and transmitter properly positioned. Each one is labeled, and both have some sticky tape to help with the installation. All Good.

I have the Xfinity 4K box (XG1v4) and apparently (I didn’t know this) it’s notorious for having terrible IR reception. I tried multiple universal remotes and with any of them, I could only control this if I was within approximately 3-4 feet or less. Super annoying.I got tired of having the Xfinity remote along with my universal… I mean, that’s why I have the universal remote so I’m not cluttered. I like that the Xfinity remote uses RF or bluetooth or whatever, but I guess they crippled the IR receiver to try and force people to use their remote always and forever. With this IR repeater, I positioned the sender just a couple inches from where the IR receiver is on the cable box, and I put the receiver of this item somewhere… anywhere nearby. I actually just put it near my other home theater stuff since I’m used to pointing the remote there anyway. For the USB power, I read some advice about using the USB port on the Xfinity box itself which is exactly what I did, and yeah… it works fine.Honestly, I was a little skeptical about this… I’ve never tried an IR repeater before, but this just works. By putting the IR sender close to the cable box, I was hoping to avoid “reflections” where my other equipment could get duplicate signals, and that’s working fine.So if you need a little boost for a single device like, this works out great. I was about to give up hope of having a single remote but I’m glad I took a chance on this.

Reusing an aging home theater system, so hiding it behind a wall was preferential. This product allows us to use the reciever, cd/dvd player and older not so smart tv, with a nice older audio system that nobody sees a wire anywhere. 😎

Works good. Easy installation. Wish I had bought this years ago. Would recommend.

The directions could not possibly be more skimpy and yest they were adequate for a quick (except for fishing it thru the wall) and easy install and it works. It would be good it they charged a few extra bucks for the USB wall plug.
