This is a hidden and underrated gem. I’m a HAM operator and I like these for family use. They are programmable. Software is proprietary and works best on a PC. Comes with programming cable. Battery lasts a long time. They come programmed a little funny. The FRS channels don’t 100% match the FCC website. But you can program whatever UHF frequency you want. You can even program offsets for half duplex operations. Very cool feature. You can set transmit power only through programming. Basically, don’t buy these if you don’t want to plug them into your computer and program them. But do buy them and learn how to do that. It’s just good fun.They will scan, but there is no display. All UI feedback is audible prerecorded human with Chinese accent. Lol.Keypad is lockable. Great for kids.One issue was that my Baufeng headsets didn’t sound great (microphone didn’t play nicely) but that’s okay. Internal speaker is extremely clear! That’s no lie. I would buy these for that fact alone. Audio is better than the Motorola FRS radios I used to own.I bought these for the excellent price. And the fact that they supposedly transmit at 2 watts. But I have not seen that tested. I love for form factor and the holster/belt clip.The antenna is not detachable.Battery life is great.

This set is exactly what I was looking for. I had a few of the standard Motorola walkie talkies that we used as a family for outdoor activities, hunting, and for the kids to play around with. They had OK range, poor battery life, and were just generally cheap feeling. I was looking for new ones and came across these in my search. Here is what I love so far:1. They are very compact – about half the thickness of the Motorola ones I have2. They are rechargeable and come with chargers that can charge 2 units at a time3. No screen – I actually like that they don’t have a screen. I never used the screen on the Motorolas any way.4. Audio is extremely clear. I am amazed at how easy it is to understand what the other person is saying.5. Range seems to be excellent. I know this depends greatly on the terrain, but no complaints so far.6. You can lock these to specific channels so that kids cannot change them by accident.7. Great price for the set. I didn’t really need 4, but I like having an extra one.8. High quality build. These do not feel like toys to me. They feel more rugged or industrial. Time will tell I guess.9. Battery life is great. My kids have been using them a bunch already and I have only charged them once. I know this is not scientific…Overall these have exceeded my expectations so far and I would highly recommend them.

Great signal, can hear clearly, wide range/radius. Charges quickly and stays charged. Just don’t leave it on and forget to charge it, or you may be awoke in the night to a robot voice yelling at you to “please check your battery!”

I ordered these thinking I was getting 4. I only got 2 so either the description was false or they sent me the wrong amount. I’m not returning them cause I need them I hope the company will just send me another pair. They seem to work great and are clear for sound. I’d like to give a better rating and review. ( the company sent me my last 2 for free and sent me 2 ear pieces with them and I thank you for making everything rite so on that note I gave them 5 stars and I like the product thank you)

My family and I bought these especially for cruising. After looking at reviews of more expensive talkies, and finding out on a ship they all pretty much work the same, we settled on these for the price and reliability (as was advertised). So here are my pros and cons.PROS: 2nd floor to 9th floor of the cruise we heard each other really well.No static or reverb or stray signals.Small and very lightweight and very easy to use. My 6yr old had one.Charges in no time, comes with charger, our standby time lasted all day, never lost power and we used them often.CONS: doesn’t transmit clear when you’re in the stateroom to another floor, so step into the passageway and you’ll be good.Overall I would recommend this product because I love it myself and I gave it a true experience.
