Joe –
These work well. Make sure to set up the private channel. Quite easy. Sound quality is great. Range is solid. More like 1/2 mile but still I didn’t really expect more. Solid though I’ll prob buy two more to have four.

Bought for my teens to use but I think I will get myself a set. They were easy to set up and have good range. Perfect around the house or out on a hike
Debbie Santage –
We used them for our move. If one of us was a couple of miles away, they still worked great.

I purchased these so that my father and I could stay in contact in case of emergencies. He can’t walk and I take care of him but when I’m in another room we can now communicate better without having to use our phones.

Never fail us not one time.Sometimes would be 3 or 4 miles apart. Aways worked to keep us together.
Good&Bad –
So going quickly through Midlands ‘small’ manual, I setup the radios the way my wife & I want for use around the house & yard…..(1) Turned the volume down, it was MUCH too loud & no, there is no knob to turn down the volume. Instructions to lower volume are in the manual (2) No VOX… (3) Set our Channel & CTCSS Privacy Code (4) Turned off the ‘Roger Beep’ (5) Turned on ‘Silent Operation’ (6) Locked the Keypads. Basically we want the radios to be in a very simple & quieter operating mode. I’m in my workshop quite a bit or outside working in the front or back yard. So wherever we’re each at, the radios will make it a lot easier to communicate instead of running back & forth. The battery pack took much longer than 3-hours to charge (5hrs) but the radios seem to now be working fine. The orange color is awesome, seeing/finding the radios wherever we put them down is super easy. Finally, decide what channels may work best for you in your area (try turning on your scanner & listen to radio traffic, find the least busy channel) whether you want to be on channels 1-7 or 15-22 (busier shared FRS & GMRS Channels) or on 8 -14 (FRS Only Channels) as well as using a Privacy Code (recommend). Be careful placing & removing the radios in the charger, they need to be pushed down firmly but gently into their charging position. Finally, read the manual. i.e Page 7, If you got something really messed up and can’t find the way to straighten it out, just restore the radio to its original setting & start over. Don’t worry, you’ll get it setup the way you want it & it won’t take long. Settings aren’t permanent :}

Love the battery option and NOAA channel
Walkie talkie –
Walkietalkies we’re great. Easy to set up & came with batteries. Have tested them from a 1/4 mile and they work great. Going to use them at them parks and camping.

Great product for the price I paid

Was supposedly able to transmit and receive up to twenty miles. Only works a few blocks, if over 10 blocks it is really better to try yelling instead.
