Update 2/8/16: I’ve now been using my “earhooks” for almost two months. I still like them a whole lot; however, there are a couple things I noticed and wanted to add to my review.Firstly, I have periodically experienced a static zap in my ears when unplugging from my devices (iPad Air2, iPhone 6s, Macbook Pro) while keeping the earhooks on. The hooks are not easy to get on and off. Thus, if I need to disconnect from my device for a moment, I sometimes leave earpieces on my head and unplug at the device, tucking the cord end in my pocket. The zapping seems to happen when the atmosphere is staticky and the bare metal jack touches something with a charge (like my sweater or my husband). Kerpowie! I’m more careful now about how I disconnect the jack and making sure the jack is tucked away safely while I’m walking around.Secondly, the sound from the earpieces is readily perceived by others at moderate volumes. This is because the earpieces don’t actually go *in* the ear canal, but rest just outside, which allows some sound to escape. This is not a deal-breaker for me, but was a bit of a surprise when I thought I was being all sneaky but my husband could hear everything I was listening to. ;)Even with these caveats, I still think that at under 10 samoleans these little guys are a good value. I really like the sound, they’re very comfortable, and they are the only inexpensive headphones I have that don’t fall out.Original Review:Holy moly, I have finally found it: cheap headphones that sound decent and—most importantly to me—don’t fall outta my ears! Wow. I have them on right now. And I totally love them.My ears are… I don’t know. Alien ears. Toddler ears. Not normal adult human ears, apparently. Because I have never ever EVER found a set of earbuds/headphones that didn’t simply drop out of my ears—or hurt. In-ear buds hurt me. Even the smallest size inserts are painful. I’ve also tried the over-ear form factor a few times without success. The speaker was always aimed in a way that I could not hear the sound easily. This has been my experience: brief bouts of hopeful experimentation with looooong stretches of disappointment and resignation. Every once in awhile I get sad and try a new set of headphones just to see if they aren’t entirely horrible on me. These Philips headphones were a gamble I figured would disappoint like all the rest. (Do I sound bitter? Dang right I am.) I was afraid to be too hopeful at this price point. I am so delighted to tell you, however, that my very low expectations have been happily blown to bits. TO BITS. These Philips “earhook” style phones are soooo comfy. And I can waggle my head all around without them falling out! Heck, they don’t even move. Huzzah!Because the speaker is aimed well for my tiny ear canals, I can hear the music really well. Even the bass parts sound pretty dang good. Certainly amazingly well for this price. The only niggle is that I wish there was a volume control on the cord. I’m still very happy with them, though. If you are similarly afflicted with weirdo ears, I’d encourage you to give these a try. Good luck!

I’ve gone through a ton of these ‘earhook’ buds over the last 5 years. To give you a rundown:At least 4 pairs of Sony MDR-J10 h.ear Headphones with Non-Slip Design (Black) One pair of Sennheiser OMX60 Ergonomic Earbuds with Basswind System Sound (No longer for sale on Amazon)and most recently Sony MDR-AS20J Active Style Headphones with Soft Loop Hangers – Black Since I’ve got wonky ears, regular buds dont work for me at the gym or on my bike. I need something that holds on for dear life, but still has some decent bass. The original Sony MDR-J10’s suited my needs because of how cheap they were and it was my first experience with the ‘earhook’ style. Unfortunately, they were very tinny with barely any bass. Given how cheap they were, and how frequently one of the ears just stopped working, I went through all for 4 pairs in a matter of 2 years. The Sennheisers were my experiment with buying more expensive buds in the hopes that they’d sound much better. Sadly, while they did produce decent bass, they were woefully quiet, even with the built in volume adjustment. Also, the area where the cable turns into the jack was super weak and became exposed and frayed within a few months of office use.The Sony MDR-AS20Js actually sounded pretty good, but the weird full ear loop design made them really uncomfortable. The wires on these seemed just as fragile as the original MDR-J10’s as an ear started cutting out soon after I started using them at the gym.I finally tried a pair of the Philips Flexible Earhook Headphones SHS3200/28 (Black) (Replaces SHS3200/37) . Not only do these have great rage of sound, but they’re the most comfortable buds I’ve ever worn. Now, understand that I have odd shaped ears apparently, and not everybody will love the way these feel. The bass is amazing without drowning out the high end. The volume is amazing, almost too loud at times. I’m using these with my Mac Pro and my iPod Shuffle 2nd generation. Just received my 2nd pair so I can leave one at the office and use the other at the gym instead of bringing them back and forth. Hopefully they last a bit longer than the 6 month average I’m working on. I’ll update if either pair dies. So far, so good.

I’ve purchased these headphones numerous times over the years and this latest version are my new favorites. The rubber ear hooks have always worked well for me – regular ear buds don’t stay in my ear when I’m cycling, skiing or trail running – and this version is no exception. The difference in this latest order is the sound quality. Previous versions had rubber cones that inserted into the ear and used a pipe system for bass, which worked pretty well overall. These new ones have a more traditional look, no rubber cones on these, just a traditional speaker look, but the bass seems stronger and the sound quality overall seems better as well. Very pleased with this purchase and will continue to buy them.

I love these earphones! This is the second pair I have bought with the first pair lasting for at least 15 years! The quality of the sound is amazing and I love the way they hook over the ears so they are not falling out especially since I use this when I am running or just walking. Great value for the money.

The sound quality is surprisingly good for such inexpensive earphones. Better than other brands I have tried. They are also a good fit, even with glasses. I wear them at the gym most every day.

I have been buying these headphones for a long time. Work great for running. I didnt need these because I got wireless earbuds as a gift. But these are great for a chesper activewear option. I used these for long cardio sessions and all sorts of gym sessions.

I like the stereo sound quality and the flexibility of the over-the-ear loops. Plus I like using wired earphones rather than wireless because I don’t want EMFs and radio waves going through the center of my head. That said, I buy this product first because I have to wear over-the-ear mini-headphones like this; the typical round ones with dangling wires (and their wireless counterparts) just fall out of my ears. Philips is one of very few companies to offer this style any more.Every couple of years, after I accidentally drop the phone too many times – which violently yanks on the headphone wires – one of the earphone speakers stops working and I have to seek a replacement pair. Thankfully these keep showing up for sale on Amazon.

I use to have those bulky headsets that would press on my TBI’s and cause massive headaches and pain. So when i changed over to these ear buds i got to say they are perfect for someone like me. I have a arm bar mice hooked to my desk and i can just hook the buds to it when not in use. Perfect fit for my streaming and gaming needs.

I had a pair like this and lost them. Ear buds hurt my ears and the books make it so much more pleasant.
