Keep Track. And Keep Score

With more sensors to improve detection accuracy, AutoShot game tracking automatically detects¹ along the fairway and records distances for post-game analysis on Garmin Connect.

Know Your Course

Get precise distances to each location on the course, as well as PlaysLike Distance, which adjusts yardages to account for uphill and downhill shots so you can select the best club for the situation. And with Touch Targeting, you can touch any point on the map for precise measurement to that exact spot — including fairway, sand traps, water hazards and more.

Reach the Pin

Green View gives you each green’s true shape from wherever you are on the course, and it allows you to manually drag-and-drop the pin into the correct location for the day for greater accuracy. PinPointer even tells you the direction to the pin when you have a blind shot.

Know Your Swing

Pair your Approach S60 with the Garmin TruSwing golf swing analyzer to get swing training, including swing speed and club path angles. By understanding what your swing is doing and how it impacts ball flight, you can improve the consistency of each swing.

I love this watch. I read the independent reviews online before purchasing, so I knew the incredible amount of features it has. After reading the negative product reviews on Amazon, I was a little concerned about my ability to learn the settings. However, after some quick Google searches and watching some videos on YouTube, harnessing the S60’s capabilities really wasn’t that hard. You just have to have some patience to learn – this watch can do a LOT of stuff. After a week of use so far:Pros:* the golf functions are flawless. I spent a round on the course messing around with it. Yardage readings were extremely accurate and it was perfectly visible in direct sunlight. It was also cool (or embarrassing) to see the yardage of each shot automatically, without having to touch any buttons.* the watch is versatile. It’s a lot lighter than I expected, for a device with so many options. It feels the same as my FitBit Blaze, as far as size and weight. There are also over a hundred watch faces to choose from, so you can easily change the appearance on a whim. Install the Garmin Face-It app, and you can create your own custom face (included a pic of one I created).* having used FitBit products for the last ~4yrs, I honestly thing the Garmin is a more-accurate step tracker. I noticed my FitBit would register 5-8 ‘phantom’ steps during my 45min commute in the car. I don’t know if that’s due to vibration in the steering wheel, ‘lively hand motions’ to other motorists, or whatever. I notice that the Garmin doesn’t give me any ‘bonus’ steps. When wearing them at the same time and actually counting steps, the Garmin was more accurate by a couple of steps.* fantastic battery life. I’ve worn it eight straight days, including a round of golf, and still haven’t needed to recharge. Based on my usage, it uses less than 10% a day (I’ve just used it as a watch today, and it’s only used 3% in the 14hrs I’ve been awake). Utilizing the GPS and golf features during a round of golf will burn ~25-35% – I was messing with it constantly during my round, and it used ~30%.Cons:* it ain’t cheap* even though it’s pricey, it doesn’t include a heart monitor – the only thing I miss from my FitBit. You can add an accessory for that function…for an additional price.* it’s app-happy. I had to install three apps to cover the features I wanted to utilize; Garmin Connect (most of the general settings/features), Garmin Golf (granular golf tracking/stats) and Garmin Face-It (custom watch faces). In the end, I have no regrets over the purchase. I love it.

Works great, was a bargain at $265 compared to its original $500 price tag. At some places it’s $250 or less, but I appreciate the Amazon return policy in case something’s wrong with it. Battery life is sufficient, way better than the Samsung Active 2 that I was wearing before, not enough for 36h most likely, but I only play 9 or 18 so it’s fine. Super comfortable, non-gps battery life is several days, always on display and easy to read in daylight, using it as my everyday watch now. Used to carry around a garmin g80 on the course in my pocket which was annoying; now I have less crap in my pockets, and since its on the wrist it’s a lot more accessible for reviewing yardages, entering club data and strokes, etc. I have a tiny lady wrist, 6″ circumference, and I worried how the watch would fit but it’s fine. The band is comfy, I’m on the 4th hole on the strap from the smallest setting, the strap doesn’t make my skin break out, it’s a little big but it’s passable, just looks like a big outdoorsy fitness watch. Has all the golf functions anyone could wish for:plays like distances, touch targeting and hole overview and flag positioning, club distance tracking and automatic swing sensing, scorecard function, compass for blind shots, relatively accurate measurements, compiles performance stats. If you really play 36h regularly then the S62 might be worth the $500, but for the rest of us mere mortals that play 9h or 18h this S60 is a great half-cost option with nearly all the same functionality.

Watch worked out of the box. Immediately synched with Garmin Connect, no issues. Played 18 today, watch had 92 percent batt when I started, ended round at 58 percent. That was using every feature including auto shot tracker and scoring.Watch very customizable. Can download different apps and watch faces and it’s super easy to do. It’s basically a slimmed down Fenix 5. It’s 46mm so it’s the perfect size (tho many women may not like that big of a watch)These bad reviews are strange. I never even read the manual and figured it out in 5 minutes. It literally was plug and play. And no. You don’t need a computer. Everything can be done on the app. And if you own a cell phone you own a block to charge it. Not sure why so many people think they need to buy a charging block 😂😂Your TV USB will even charge it. Or as I said, your phone block. Or iPad. Or kindle. Any block that takes USB will charge the watch. Silly people. The watch auto shot and tracker was awesome. Maps out distance and where the ball landed, which is reviewable after the round when you sync to garmin connect. Then you just tap the scorecard and scroll through the holes at the bottom and select which you want to look at. Scroll left and right to go through all of them. I also own game golf live which I now will sell (no more tagging my shots!)I’m beyond pleased with the S60.

Outstanding watch in all aspects. I’ve been using it as an everyday watch for about a month and love it. I see a lot of negative reviews so I’ll try to address common complaints:Pairing – once you download the Garmin Connect app it’s a breeze, no issues here.Directions – true, they don’t come with the watch, but are easy to find on Garmin’s website. I found them very helpful, and easy to read.Functionality – some have had trouble using it. If you don’t consider yourself mildly tech savvy, this watch has too much horsepower for you. There are several screens and almost endless options, which could overwhelm some. Everything is customizable – you can turn features on and off. If all you need is front/middle/back distances this is a bit of overkill.Battery – in GPS mode it is average, very good in watch mode. There are many options to save on battery life.Software – updates when you sync with the Garmin Connect app, no issues with black bars some have mentioned.Price – sure it’s not cheap, but considering the fact that you can wear it as an everyday watch, the endless features: swing tempo, shot tracking, stat tracking, step tracking, sleep, biking, swimming, walking, running, etc. you might be able to justify the cost.Bottom line: this is the best golf watch out there with all the bells and whistles, go for it!

Is the s62 better? Probably. But if this is still 260, it is absolutely the best gadget for a golfer to have on their wrist. The bad? Here goes. It’s not winning any beauty contests. To keep it light it’s hard plastic. The battery isn’t that great, I only wear it golfing and I keep it plugged in with it’s proprietary cable. In gps golf mode it will drain 20% doing 9 holes. It has missed a swing here or there. You can only edit what club you used later in app and that is not fun, but doable. I had one issue where it drained itself one night after I unlplugged it and once it didn’t want to turn on. Searching for gps satellites takes a long time to do. For some reason you need two apps on your phoneBut for a second, pretend you thought, yes, but it’s 260 bucks. And you bought it. You plug it in to charge, it takes forever to turn on, you link it your phone, you set up your clubs, and you watch a YouTube video on what settings to turn on in the golf app.You go play. You walk up to the tee, you quickly move the flag using your touchscreen and you are almost if not as accurate as guy using rangefinder. You choose your club and after swinging touch the watch to tell it what club you used. Every club but putting. And you do your his for every club. At the end of your match, it syncs with your phone and you have beautiful full color pictures of every hole and how you hit. It starts tracking your handicap. It tracks your club distances (and you can access this from your phone). Your scorecards, all on your phone for forever. You can go back and look at pictures. Screenshots to text your friends. No guessing what your 160 yard club is.If you golf a lot, you should own one of these. Period.

I use this only for golf. Still use Garmin Vioactive for daily use as it tracks sleep, heart rate, etc. which this doesn’t. I have it paired with Garmin CT-10 club monitors. You can see every shot on the phone app, even those sometimes it is disheartening!!

I think that I am in love. This watch is A-Maz-ING. Seriously, like probably one of the favorite things I have bought in a long long time. Did I happen to say I like it? I have played 10ish rounds with it and man, so great. It does take a little time to understand what and how you do things on it. But the yardage, almost perfect. Tempo trainer, my swing is so much better because of it. Battery life could be better, but only when on the course and it makes sense that it runs hard, the screen is on most of the time to help you. In regards to the reviews about the “locating satellites takes forever” Well, I don’t have that issue because when I get to the course I start the watch, I would say 3-4 min max to find them. Yes that would be an eternity of you were already on the first tee, but just start it sooner. Did I mention how much I like it yet? Oh, and it keeps score for you, transfers your shots to your profile on the web I mean c’mon it’s SICK! You can see the holes in full screen and the list goes on and on and on. And no, I don’t work for Garmin. Buy it.

  8. A. for YOU

This watch is an amazing tool that is helping me become a better golfer. The GPS is incredibly accurate; I hardly use my rangefinder any more. I love the scorekeeping too. You can zoom in and get yardage to hazards on each hole from where you are. It always shows the distance to the green from wherever you are, and the distance to your last shot, so as soon as you go to your drive, for instance, you know how long it was, which is great when you hit a good one. One of the best things is reviewing your round in the app. You can look at every hole and it shows every shot you made and how long it was. This can really hurt your feelings when you did poorly, but it’s awesome on the good ones. It also interfaces with your smartphone and gives you phone, message, and email notifications, which I love (you can decline calls from your watch!). It counts steps, but it does not have a heart rate monitor (that’s probably the only con I can think of for this watch). Expensive but worth every penny.

I could not decide which one to buy so I ended up buying all three- The white one I quickly realized is not for me- but i am 50 yrs old. The upgraded black version with the ceramic bezel and leather straps I felt was too heavy to golf with, I could cleary feel the difference between the two. So I returned both and go the cheaper black one. I am very impressed with this watch. I would wear it daily if I was not a building contractor- for fear I may scratch it. Message notifications, weather forecast, pause and play music, cycling distance map and elevation changes -all bonuses to the golf features. I have ony used it once golfing but I am impressed how it kept track of my swings. and after downloading the Garmin app you can visually see all your shots on a virtual golf course. Giving you a percentage of fairways hit. GPS was great giving you the the front middle and back ofthe green. There are alot more features such as swing tempo- for me to explore.

I personally have not used this watch for golfing yet myself, but I have been with someone who had one and it is great. There are plenty of videos you can look up to see how amazing it is. It was very hard finding reviews about the fitness portion of this watch online. I am very impressed with that portion of the watch. I use this watch for running and I am very impressed with that feature. While you are running, it keeps track of time, distance, and pace. When you are done with your run, it gives you a review of your run. You can open the app on your phone and it will show your run in a map. The map will show you where your pace sped up and slowed down. Watch also has a step counter and tells you your sleep statistics. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
