The product is good. Not worse and not better than others. Works as expected. Easy to apply.

I upgraded my Ryzen 5 to a Ryzen 9 & wanted to have the theraml paste coverage & cooling needed for this. I went with this stuff for that. I am happy that I did.Not only was this easy to apply, it is holding up very well. It is a couple months on there. Granted, all of my thermal paste is on there for years, so that test will come at a much later date. So far, so good.I do like that it came out rather smoothly. I was going to use “my normal” stuff, but had read about this thermal paste from Artic. Seeing as there are a few changes to chip & what over time, as well as a shipping issue, I went with this paste. I so far, am glad that I have.I only have small bursts of extra heat after playing an intense video game. Considering I do some intense art work, that’s pretty darned good.Bottom line, if you’re looking for some high end thermal paste for your build, I suggest this. It goes on easy, & with the removal stuff, comes off quite smoothly & very well.

(First, this isn’t a review based on other similar paste, it’s a review on replacing old paste.)My 8 year old laptop was slowly beginning to run hotter and hotter over the last couple years. It usually stayed around mid to high 80°C under high load, and idled around mid 40°C, but over the course of a couple years, it eventually climbed up to a steady 99°C, under medium to high load, and idled at around 55°C. I had no temps change even when undervolting my CPU by .135mV. These high temps were causing thermal throttling to the point I was considering buying a new computer.(High temps causes thermal throttle, in which the system tries to reduce temps, or limit temps, by reducing system performance. It also disables Boost on my Intel CPU, which is where a significant amount of my PCs performance comes from. Seeing as base clock is 2.5GHz and boosts to 3.8GHz under high load, like in games or 3D applications like Blender.)Some games (Like CS:GO, now CS2) would start off in the hundreds of frames per second, and in ~15 minutes, drop significantly to 60fps and below… While it’s arguably playable, it was well below my PC’s potential. I wanted to find out what to do, if anything, to fix it.Some quick research pointed me towards the factory thermal paste being the problem, either dried out, or just awful from the beginning. I did a few searches on how easy it was to replace, or if I had any high risks damaging my laptop… And there wasn’t any risks that I was afraid of, besides voiding warranty… If it were a new laptop. (My laptop’s warranty expired years ago.)So I started looking at different brands and types of thermal paste, and found Arctic’s MX-4 being sorta legendary in gaming PCs. Quite a few of my friends recommended it to me verbally when talking about the issues I was having. A little more research into Arctic’s products left me with MX-6 being the best for me and my PC.Laptops always run hot, general lack of airflow compared to a desktop. Some other brands, and types of paste, seemed to have better performance being applied to systems with water cooling, and led to drying out under temps over just 80°C, which is low for a gaming laptop. I kept seeing MX-6 being recommended over MX-4 for laptops in newer threads and articles, and for people who have never messed with thermal paste before. So I decided to try MX-6, with the idea being, if it didn’t fix my thermals issue, I’d clean it and try again with MX-4, and if that didn’t work, I’d buy a new PC… Luckily, when I received the paste in the mail and removed the heat pipes from my motherboard… The factory thermal paste was dried out. This was a good thing since it meant I had a chance to save my laptop, and not have to try again. It worked, phenomenally. Not only was it easy to apply, it dropped my CPU temps from 99°C, to 82°C under high load, and GPU temps from ~83°C, to 73°C. My laptop even idles significantly lower from around 55°C, to 42°C. (As I’m typing this review) I also haven’t gotten any thermal throttle whatsoever since replacing the dried up, old factory paste. Games like Counter-Strike 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate III, Forza Horizon 5, Escape From Tarkov, Battlefield 1, and even The Sims 4 and newer Ubisoft games run significantly smoother, with no performance drops due to thermal throttling.I even replaced the paste on my old school laptop (also 8 years old) and it performs significantly better, to the point that I use it again, for coding, Photoshop, and general research. I didn’t grab the temps on that laptop though, seeing as it was spur of the moment and I never used it much for anything other than typing up documents, coding, Photoshop, or research while traveling. While any brand, or nearly any thermal paste would have fixed my issues… I felt like I could trust Arctic more, going by their impressive reputation, and while this certainly isn’t cheap, or rather, defective paste, they marketed it to beginners as well as professionals.Bottom line, I’m very happy having saved 2 laptops from the bin, and hundreds of dollars on a new system. Definitely earned a customer for life, and helped me learn a ton along the way.

Did exactly what it’s supposed to. My only real complaint is the lack of a good way to store it for later. But it’s so cheap that it really doesn’t matter. 9/10.

My laptop is 6 years old and has been overheating pretty bad lately. The fans started SCREAMING so I finally got fed up, disassembled it in order to clean the fans and noticed the original thermal compound had dried up/cracked.I cleaned the fans out, removed the old compound stuff with isopropyl/q-tips and applied a pea size drop of this new thermal compound.Booted the laptop back up and she’s whisper quiet now, and the temps are stable. Love this stuff! Would happily buy again. Highly recommended.(The syringe is also resealable)
