Product Description

Model: A9125. Anker 615 USB Power Strip (GaNPrime 65W)

The 5-in-1 Fast Charging Power Strip

Power 5 Devices At Once: 3 USB ports and 2 AC outlets provide power and charging for up to 5 devices from a single wall outlet

Less Waiting with Fast Charging: Combining Power Delivery and Anker’s world-famous PowerIQ 3.0 technology to deliver a tailored, high-speed charge to virtually any USB device.

Compact and Dependable: The portable size makes this ideal to bring during business trips and vacations to keep all your essential devices charged.

Superior Safety: Designed with short-circuit protection, fire-resistant casing, over-voltage protection, and many more advanced safety features to give you peace of mind.

Notes:

1. Worldwide Travel: The USB ports support an input voltage of 100-240V~50/60Hz

2. Most cruise ships allow charging stations, but some forbid power strips with extension cords. Check the cruise operator’s website if you plan to take it on a cruise.

3. The max power output for AC is 1250W at 125V/10A. The max power output for DC is 65W for USB-C ports and 12W for USB-A port.

Which USB-C port is more powerful?

When you connect to either of the ports, the maximum output will be 65W. If you connect to both USB-C ports, the first port you connect to will output 45W max, while the second port you connect to will output 18W max.

Why is it harder to plug in the AC plug?

From a safety perspective, the power strip is designed with Anker’s patented protection door structure, so the AC port is tighter than the conventional socket.

How do I prevent the AC cable from bulging out when stored?

When storing the AC cable, wrap it tightly or the outermost layer of the silicone cable will arch.

What is the outer layer of the power strip made of?

The outer layer of the power strip is made of liquid silicone, which is relatively soft. To avoid damage, keep away from sharp objects such as scissors.

The Anker GaNPrime 65W Charging Station, also known as the 615 USB C Power Strip, is a versatile and efficient charging solution that offers multiple ports and advanced features. This comprehensive review combines the product description, personal experience, and additional insights to provide a detailed overview of its capabilities. The 615 USB C Power Strip from Anker is designed with convenience and functionality in mind. It features two fast-charging USB-C ports, two AC outlets, and a USB-A port, allowing you to connect and charge multiple devices simultaneously. This power strip is a great choice for individuals seeking to minimize clutter and simplify their charging setup. One of the standout features of this power strip is its high-speed charging capability. With a 65W USB-C output, it provides ample power to charge a wide range of devices such as phones, tablets, laptops, and more. Notably, it delivers fast charging speeds for devices such as Samsung smartphones, ensuring your Samsung devices are charged quickly and efficiently. The compact design of the power strip is another advantage. It takes up very little space on your desk and is travel-ready, making it an excellent companion for both home and on-the-go use. The cable length, although not particularly long, is well-suited for its intended purpose. It works perfectly in hotels by the bed, at a desk, or in the airport. Its portability and compact size make it convenient for use in various locations without the need for extensive cable length.Safety is a top priority with Anker’s ActiveShield 2.0 technology. This feature intelligently monitors the temperature to enhance protection, providing peace of mind while charging. Additionally, the integration of the latest GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology ensures that the power strip remains safe and powerful to use.During personal experiences, the power strip has proven to be reliable and compatible with different voltage standards, making it suitable for international travel. As per my personal experience, I have used the charger in countries with 240V power outlets, and it performed flawlessly. Although Anker’s manual may not explicitly state the dual voltage compatibility, contacting their support confirms that the power strip is indeed compatible with different voltage standards. This reassurance from Anker’s support team provides additional confidence in its usability during international travel. While the power strip itself excels in performance, it’s worth mentioning a potential heat issue when using specific chargers such as the Anker 511 USB C GaN Charger. Monitoring the temperature and ensuring the charger does not become excessively hot is important for the safe operation of your devices. In terms of additional benefits, purchasing the Anker 615 USB Power Strip includes a 3ft (0.9m) extension cord, a welcome guide, a 24-month warranty, and friendly customer service. Moreover, the connected equipment warranty provides coverage up to $200,000 for your connected devices, offering complete peace of mind.In summary, the Anker GaNPrime 65W Charging Station, 615 USB C Power Strip, offers a comprehensive charging solution with its multiple ports, high-speed charging capabilities, compact design, and safety features. It serves as a reliable and convenient power strip for charging multiple devices simultaneously. With its compatibility with different voltage standards, suitability for various locations, international travel-friendly features, and the confirmation of dual voltage compatibility from Anker’s support, including my personal experience with flawless operation in countries with 240V power outlets, the Anker 615 USB Power Strip proves to be a valuable asset for both home and travel use.

i bought this charger in preparation for my steam deck that has just arrived, because i knew the chord was really short 4.9ft Directly referencing the website, i planned on buying this extender and pair this with a 10ft USB-C to USB-C (one that’s capable of 65 Wat charging)here’s some Pro’s and Con’s, first starting with the pro’s:*the USB-C ports are really nice to have and are enough voltage to charge my steam deck and my Samsung galaxy s20fe and sound core Q35 headphones at full speed, although i need to get another 10ft USB-C cable first*it also includes a USB-A full size port that does fast charging, and regular charging too, i use this for devices that have not made the switch to USB-C.*it includes two US AC outlets with grounding style plugs, when you are not using the cable, you can wrap the cable behind the silicone sleeve and use the ac outlet on the side with the USB ports to plug the loose cable into.*its pretty small and easy to put in my bag, i use it in my tech bag, it is able to plug in all the devices i need charged which is very useful.*the AC outlet is at an angle allowing you to plug it into a dual plug outlet very easily without interfering with a plug above nor below you.now some of the Con’s:*the chord seems to get pinched from being slotted in and out of the cable slot, see the pictures attached.for a second iteration, perhaps have some spare silicon as protection for the groove and so the chord can pop into it without pinching.that’s the only real issue i had with it. i am worried that the chord will eventually get pinched too much.other than that i have no issue’s recommending it as it works very well.

I got this to replace a regular surge protector that I would pack for working on the road. The old power strip has two USB A ports but they are low amp and can’t charge a MacBook, so I had to carry all the charge bricks with me. It also started to melt when I was photographing in Central America. I usually have a Macbook Pro, phone, camera battery charger and maybe a charger for AA batteries for a flash. This fits everything well. Usually it sits with the USB ports facing up and the camera battery charger on top, but when I need to charge AAs, I roll it on its side. I still carry a compact GaN USB charger in the computer bag, but this has significantly reduced bulk and cable management issues. The cord could be longer. I’m 6′ and it’s basically from belt to floor on me. If you need longer, this isn’t the right item for you, but I have long USB cables. This is small and elegant so it stays in my overnight bag and actually goes with me. I prefer the convenience.Putting the tester to it, I think it’s under-rated as a USB charger. Plugging in a meter, with a good cable, it’s peaking at 91.45 watts (~19.5 volts, ~4.7 amps, also note about 85 watts with a generic charge cable– cables matter). That’s to a 14″ MBP when charging a single device. In actual use, it’s performing about as well as the big, four-port 100-watt brick I keep at home under my desk. The meter doesn’t lie. I suspect the 67-watt rating may be based on sustained heat dissipation in a compact device over a longer session, but I’m liking these Anker GaN Prime products. The active temperature monitoring will hopefully prevent something like the melting incident from happening again.

Just took it on a few weeks in Europe. Worked flawlessly on 220 volts with a plug adapter (no voltage converter needed), and very convenient to have the extra receptacles when an additional charger was needed. Not too heavy but weighs enough that it doesn’t slide around on a nightstand. The cord wraps and unwraps easily and is just the right length.I agree with the other ratings that the slot for the cord seems overly stiff and time will tell if the cord jacket gets damaged from repeated use.Definitely something I’ll take on every trip.

This works well and is pretty compact for travel. When I travel internationally I like to use a single plug adapter to connect a power strip and then use my local plugs and USBs from that source. This works well as that compact power strip and I like the little silicone skirt that keeps the cord tidy within the unit. There are two aspects for me that could be improved in a future version. 1.) Even when coiled, there is a “tail” of cord that always hangs out. This keeps the unit from being optimally compact for packing, and in general it just kind of looks silly. 2.) For international use, it’s much easier to have a 2-prong plug rather than the grounded 3-prong plug. I realize that the third prong increases safety, etc., but the versatility of a simple plug would be useful.

Anker is my go-to for charging and battery accessories because it’s high quality in terms of relatability and performance. This is perfect for my work area and I’m able to keep a MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Retina charged using USB-C, still have a USB-A available for charging my iPhone or mouse, AND also have two regular outlets. I love that the cord wraps around the base and is neatly tucked under the silicone band. Will be great for travel.

My favorite thing about this power supply is that the cord hides away inside the unit. This makes it easy to store inside a bag, but also makes it draw less attention when bringing it on a cruise ship. The security people at the terminal don’t always understand what is allowed and what is prohibited. Most cruise ships should allow this unit (my last one did) but it’s best not to draw attention to it with a long cord.I also plan to use this at work because sometimes the conference rooms have limited outlets, and so with this you gain an extra outlet while being able to charge multiple devices.

65W is key to work in low wattage ports (like some 737s have), but still offering PD sufficient for a laptop. The cord is great for inconvenient hotel room plugs and finicky airplane outlets (and wraps up neatly for travel).120/240 input works everywhere.Simply the best travel charger I’ve found–this and country-specific adapters are all you need.

I use this to travel; it is a great solution to plug in an airplane’s in-seat outlets securely. Most block-type chargers are heavy, and the loose plugs won’t stay on due to the weight. This charger also charged my 16-inch MacBook Pro when I did not take the bulky 140W charger.I also found the hideaway extension cord to look clean and valuable.I recommend it to my friends and people who travel a lot.
