I have bought this radio-cd combo to replace my old radio-cd in a ’99 Ford Explorer. I will not make comparisons to other sounds system that cost hundreds of dollars and are certainly superior in certain respects. This was not the point here. I just wanted a good system to outfit a vintage 4×4 car (originally equipped, though, with the Ford Premium sound system). With everything, including extracting tools for the old radio and a premium wire harness, the whole operation cost me just over $100 (I installed the radio myself, I had never done this before and it was pretty straightforward once I had understood the basics). For the quality I got, the price of the unit is unbeatable. The radio picks on many stations, the CD player operates smoothly, the unit has all the sound adjustments features needed and a few additional bells and whistles, and the sound is very good.

The media could not be loaded. This is a good little stereo for my jeep. I wanted an upgrade because my stock stereo kept eating CDs and it’s aux port was a disaster. Frankly, I’m just done with CDs & having bluetooth was a big selling point for me. The price is also low enough that if it didn’t work out, I was okay with loosing out on that money. The install…Firstly… A lot of the problems I experienced along the way we’re jeep problems. There were many. The first problem I encountered forced me to reshape the inner bracket that helps hold the radio in place.Jeep also has wiring/canbus issues that are meant to throw up a road blocks to keep people from doing these installs themselves and forcing you to either buy a oem unit that a dealer must install or dig around the net to find a “compatible” radio.Because of this any radio that doesn’t talk to the computer through the canbus wires, does not receive any current through the radio’s ignition wire. No signal to turn on the radio once the key was in. Additionally, finding a good, understandable wiring guide for my jeep was frustrating. The radio’s guide also left me a bit unclear on which wire was to the battery & which for the ignition.I thought the unit was DOA or damaged by my messing around, trying to figure things out. Thankfully, this is a tough little unit that handled all the bumps and bends and improper wiring attempts. The other problem was the radio was not a perfect fit for the outer frame. It’s height was fine, but I ended up purchasing a separate install kit. If I’d know about it from the get go, it would have saved me so many headache.Thankfully this kit has everything you need to install this radio into a Jeep Patriot, including a long fused wire to bypass the non functioning ignition wire.Despite all the hurdles I had to overcome I have a very nice bluetooth radio that looks professionally installed and sounds great! I also love how when connected to my phone in bluetooth mode. I can shut my jeep off and it pauses the music on my phone. When I turn my jeep back on, it automatically resumes playing right where it left off. It’s great!!!

Boss 820BRGBFirst off, don’t let the price of this stereo scare you off. The sound quality is WAY above what this unit costs. I kept the factory JVC amp and sub, and the factory Harmen Kardon tweeters, replaced the door speakers with some Pyles, and the Harmen Kardon stereo with this. My car now rocks harder than it did when I bought it.Pros:1) sound quality – this thing puts out great sound2) looks – it looks good, no matter what color you choose to use3) controls – they’re easy to learn, and simple to use – I had everything down in probably 15 minutes4) four RCA preamp outputs5) AUX in, and Bluetooth – both work perfectly for music – works good for incoming phone calls, but Siri doesn’t work – I don’t know if it works with whatever dialing assistant Android uses6) it wired up easy using the Scosche wiring harness for my carCons:1) the controls look cheap – worse, they feel cheap – the volume knob, and USB door feel like something that would be on an inexpensive toy2) the USB input is pretty much useless – I put in a 64gb USB drive, with everything laid out in folders, and there is no folder view so you can go choose what you want to listen to – instead, you can only skip ahead 5 or 10 songs at a time, and with 3200+ songs to choose from, that makes the USB input useless3) there is no Apple Car Play, or Android Auto, but I knew that going in, so maybe not a con so much as me wishing I’d gotten a stereo that has them4) the colors – it doesn’t matter what color you try, none are particularly visible in bright sunlight, and red is the worst during the day – at night, it’s the opposite, with red being the only color that isn’t too bright to use5) no dedicated RCA preamp output for a subwoofer – while it wasn’t an issue for me, it could be for some peopleOverall, if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on a new car stereo, this one gets it done. I’m happy with it. If it had cost twice as much, I’d still have been happy with it.

Cheap, works great, easy to install and wire. I was so unsure due to it only costs $35. I’d buy this over the $150 radio I replaced it with any day.

Not bad. Decent sound. I love the knob for volume, my main reason for this choice in radio. The cables it uses are the same one’s that the stock radio uses (2009 Kia Sportage). Since there was an aftermarket radio in the ride I had to unplug the professional install cables for the pioneer & I used the old stock cables to hook this one up. Wasn’t looking to spead on an old car so this worked out perfectly. To access the menu press & hold the volume button, then you can set the light to one color from auto (only thing I had to Google). I have no complaints.

I noted others reviews about sound quality, however I decided give it a try anyways. I really like the sound quality in my case and the radio in overall. Everything is working well. Tip: you can buy an adapter for a plug and play installation as I did, because I was afraid of messing with the cables. If you do, buy a good one to enjoy the best sound quality as I do. This radio was installed on my sister’s Honda CR-V 2003 and she is so happy now!

The bluetooth connects immediately. It’s awesome. The only downside is the lack of ability to dim the backlight. Is too bright.

Not only fits great in a 1999 Nissan Frontier, but it was an easy install. I don’t have any electrical skills and I was able to do the entire install by myself. The sound is great, look is great, display is great, and it’s very easy to setup all the settings.
