On top of being one of the world’s most successful tennis players, Naomi Osaka stunned the world when she bravely pulled out of the French Open in 2021 to focus on her mental health. While the issue of mental health is rightfully growing in understanding and importance, it is still often overlooked. Osaka’s decision in 2021 helped to yet again bring it to the forefront of people’s minds – and is just one of the tennis icon’s many inspirational actions, including her active support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
To celebrate the star, her culture, her activism and her achievements, Epic Games has worked with Naomi Osaka to bring her likeness to Fortnite in two new Icon Series skins, inspired by her mixed Japanese and Haitian heritage.
Naomi Osaka Fortnite skin
The first of the two skins is the Naomi Osaka skin, inspired by Osaka’s Japanese heritage. The pastel outfit gives the tennis star’s likeness luscious pink locks, and reimagines the fashion icon’s tennis kit in a stunning pink and turquoise palette. Complete the look with the Royale Racket Pickaxe (included with the skin), which leaves a pink trail with every swing and is also wearable as a Back Bling. Finally, the Queen’s Cloudcarriage Glider gives you a stylish way to enter the court Island. The Naomi Osaka Outfit is available in an alternative color variant as well, the Court Queen style.
Dark Priestess Naomi Fortnite skin
Then there’s the Dark Priestess Outfit set, inspired by Osaka’s Haitian heritage. This also comes in two colorways, with Osaka’s brunette hair replaced by multi-colored tresses in the Neon Priestess alt style. The Priestesses are accompanied by the Portalforger Paddle Pickaxe, which again comes with the Outfit and can be worn as a Back Bling. Like the Royale Racket Pickaxe, the Portalforger Paddle leaves behind a green trail with every swing. The Glider is also reimagined in the Priestess set, with green hues again replacing pink on the Cursed Hazeboard Glider.
When are the Naomi Osaka skins in the Fortnite shop?
Both the Naomi Osaka Outfit and the Dark Priestess Naomi Outfit will be available in Fortnite’s in-game Item Shop from March 3rd, 2022. The shop will reset to launch the items at the usual global reset time:

Fortnite Naomi Osaka Solo Cup
There will also be a brand-new Solos cup taking place before the launch of the Outfits, giving players a chance to be the first to get the skins – and for free. Embark on a new challenge and take place in the Naomi Osaka cup on March 2, 2022. Place high enough, and you could earn the Naomi Osaka and Dark Priestess Naomi Outfits, the Royale Racket Pickaxe and Back Bling and the Portalforger Paddle Pickaxe and Back Bling early. Also, everyone who earns at least eight points in the cup will unlock the Forbidden Ace Spray.
