Navigate Easily with Waypoint MapSince the STRIKER fishfinder series includes high-sensitivity GPS, you can see your position in relation to waypoints you have marked. Use the waypoint map to easily view, mark and navigate to locations such as brush piles, stumps and docks. It’s also a great tool for finding your way back to the boat ramp. |
Check Your Speed on ScreenYou can quickly and easily see your boat’s speed on the screen of your STRIKER fishfinder. It’s a great tool to make sure you are trolling at the right speed for the lure you’re using and for a particular fish species. It’s also a good way to tell if you are going the right speed in wake-controlled areas. |
Take Your Fishfinder AnywhereA portable kit is available to protect and carry your STRIKER fishfinder with GPS, so it’s perfect for kayak, canoe or ice fishing. It includes a sealed, rechargeable battery with charger, built-in transducer cable management and storage and suction cup transducer mount and float. |
Experience the Clarity of CHIRP
STRIKER 4 fishfinder includes a Garmin CHIRP (77/200 kHz) transducer, which provides a visibly higher level of clarity and detail for fish and structure than traditional 77/200 kHz transducers.
Instead of sending just 1 single frequency, CHIRP sends a continuous sweep of frequencies, ranging from low to high, then interprets them individually upon their return. Since the frequencies provide a wider range of information, CHIRP sonar technology can create crisper fish arches with greater target separation.
You also can upgrade to high-performance Garmin CHIRP technology, which provides crystal-clear sonar images with even more remarkable target separation and resolution from shallow to deeper depths. For better fishing, bottom contours are more visible, even at higher speeds, and signal noise can be suppressed at greater depths to provide a more timely interpretation of what’s below.

First fishfinder, so I’m no Bill Dance. Can’t compare to other models.I mounted it to my trolling motor… as opposed to drilling it into the hull of my boat. Much easier, works well. Knowing the depth is super helpful, not only for fishing, but for navigating… I only use it at speeds a little above idle… it cuts out if you’re trying to go fast….Shows “fish arcs” and blobs of baitfish, not to mention the shape and contour of the bottom. I can see the screen easily in full sunlight with sunglasses on… don’t know why some folks say the screen isn’t bright enough. I run it off a deep cycle battery that I also use for trolling. Worked all day with the trolling motor pulling on battery as well… it also shows the voltage output from the battery which is super helpful.Only downside- the battery hookups are super frail thin wire. I literally crimped them into the trolling motor alligator clips and then taped them up really well. You’re going to have to figure something out to keep the wires held securely in place… but other than that everything is great. The directions are easy to follow… they are lacking though as far as the power hookup goes. Just remember red positive, black negative…. you’re good to go.Still learning the features, but has gps, speed, water temp… all really useful. Can keep my boat trolling consistently at 1.2 mph.Great little unit, highly satisfied, affordable and works well for my little fishing setup. Will update if it stops working. If no update, assume she still works great! I have a feeling it will hold up just fine.

Lots and lots of features on this ‘budget’ unit. First the GPS. There is no map showing shoreline etc, just a blank expanse where you can add waypoints, islands etc. Course and speed can be displayed, as well as laying ‘breadcrumb’ tracks that you can follow for your return trip. If you elect to follow your track back, course and deviation from course indicators are available, and well as distance and eta. The transducer for the fish finder is a dual frequency/beam for narrow or wide underwater searches, and can be displayed separately or at the same time. You can also display the GPS and underwater information on a split screen. There are literally dozens and dozens of menu options to customize the display. As others have mentioned the print instructions included are sparce at best. The online user guide is better but still not all that great. If you want to get an idea of the capabilities of this unit and/or learn how to really use it, the ‘1cast 1 fish’ series on YouTube is highly recommended! I believe that this Garmin Striker 4 unit is one heck of a value for its low price.

The GPS is a nice thing to have. I can’t figure out how to get good arches but I don’t need a fish finder I needed a depth finder. It has good auto scale adjustment and it has water temp. Replaced a humminbird tx400.

Upgraded from a 1990s lawerance, the quality and having color on the screen is worth the price alone. Everything else is just a topper. Fits well on 1993 bass tracker (v hull 17ft)
