Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Release Date, Trailer, and what we know so far

Last Updated:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is, weirdly, the fourth entry in the titular series and has been much anticipated by JRPG fans. Nintendo revealed the game during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, showing off luscious scenery and making many gamers drool at their mouth slightly. While this trailer penciled the game in for a September 2022 release, since then, Nintendo has pulled the game forward to release on July 29th, 2022 instead.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Release Date

It’s pretty unusual for a game to have its release date brought forward, but nevertheless, that’s precisely what happened with the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 release date. Nintendo announced the change through a video they put out on the official YouTube channel last week which you can also check out above.

Some fans have speculated that the change in release might be related to the delay of Advanced Wars: 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, which was supposed to release at the start of April. Other eagle-eyed gamers also noticed that the change in release date had Xenoblade Chronicles 3 coming out much closer to Splatoon 3, giving Nintendo games a week to look forward to in late July. On a similar note, the new release also means more competition for the upcoming title Digimon: Survive.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collectors Edition

As you could probably have guessed, there is a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition, and it’s shaping up to be a surprisingly exclusive item. Right now, you can only register your interest in the product. Nintendo set up a site to monitor interest in this specific edition of the game where you can put your email to get updates.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition will feature a special steelbook case for your game card, as well as the regular case of course, and a 250-page softback artbook. If you want to be in with a chance of getting one, you’ll have to keep your eyes glued to the My Nintendo Store since that’s where it will be exclusively available. There’s still no word on price though, and with this being one of the more modest JRPG collector’s editions we can only hope that it won’t cost an arm and a leg.
