Another day another Wordle, another five-letter word to keep that grey matter busy for a few minutes. Today, March 16, is Wordle number 270, and we’ve got the answer.

Today’s Wordle answer is… CATER. This one could be tricky depending on your first few guesses as you could get to a place where “eater”, “later”, “pater”, “rater”, or “mater” could be options as well. We were lucky, as you can see below, as C was in our first word. However, it should have been obvious it wasn’t “carts” as that is a plural. With a bit more thought, this maybe could have been a 2/6!
Honorable mention at this point goes to this writer’s sister, who couldn’t have been more equally lucky and unlucky if she tried…
Cater meaning
Cater has two main meanings, both of which are verbs. One is to provide food at an event, for example, to cater for a party. This is the meaning which involves food and can be followed by -er to name a career, “caterer”.
The other main use for the word “cater” is to cater to somebody’s needs or feelings; to coddle, comfort or baby someone. You might have noticed that we alluded to this in the subtitle, “We’ll try to indulge your needs with this handy guide”!
