SAB’s co-owner, Yuna Kim, heads up sales and marketing.
Therapedic International kicks off the year inking a new licensing agreement with South Korean mattress maker SAB Co., Ltd., boosting capacity and international reach in the region where it’s had success for the past decade.
SAB Co., located in S. Korea’s most populous province of Gyeonggi-do which includes Seoul, is owned and operated by mattress industry veterans Mr. Kay Shin and Ms. Yuna Kim. The six-year-old company has been on a strong and consistent growth trajectory and currently produces more than 500 units per day of innerspring, hybrid, foam and latex mattresses.
Therapedic president/CEO Gerry Borreggine said, “It is well known that Therapedic International is thoughtful and thorough in selecting our licensee partners, and we are pleased to have the operational and marketing strengths of Mr. Kay Shin and Ms. Yuna Kim behind the quality of the Therapedic brand in South Korea.”
Shin and Kim have a solid history in the mattress industry where they started their careers 15 years ago selling beds and mattresses, and later supplying mattresses to CASAMIA, one of the largest Korean living companies.
“Yuna Kim and I had a desire to sell the highest quality mattresses directly to Korean consumers. Now we have found the answer. It is to become a family member of Therapedic, one of the world’s best mattress companies,” said Shin.
With the SAB partnership, Therapedic’s licensing group, which already spans six continents, further solidifies its strength in Asia, making it one of the most enduring international brands in bedding since its start over 60 years ago.
