Arr, there be a myth that exists in the game of Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Arrrrrceus). One of a creature so brutally hideous that it can only be described as “a blue Pokemon”. Yes, we must solve the riddle, sail to the X on the map and then, just maybe, catch us the scurvy dog!
If only it were that fun! Instead, this is reminiscent of that Regi puzzle from Ruby and Sapphire where you have to go through a sequence of events with specific Pokemon and then you get a chance at catching the unique Manaphy and Phione.
To get started, you’ll have to have seen the credits after the Palkia and Dialga boss fights, as well as get the quest from the board in the Professor’s office. Once you’ve listened to it, you’ll be pretty much a little stumped if you’ve never read the tale from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In a random bookshelf. How is anyone meant to figure this out?
Anyway, essentially you need to take yourself and three specific party members:
Mantykes literally litter the Cobalt Coastlands, you should have caught an Overqwil during the Trials of the Lakes (Qwilfish does evolve into it by using Barb Barrage in the Strong Style 20 times) and Buizel is found literally anywhere with land and water nearby. With these three in your party, head to the two weird curved rocks at the edge of the map and begin to sail through.
Make sure you sail through in the evening, anything earlier or later, this won’t work.
Once you’ve done that, a message will pop up and a rock will have moved somewhere else on the map. Head to the now open cave and inside you’ll find not only a singular Manaphy, but three Phiones. Don’t get too caught up dodging and just ensure you enter a battle with them or you’ll get trapped in a spiral of death.
After being dealt with (They’re all level 35 and the Manaphy is 50), exit and go get your reward from the professor.
