Merry Christmas! This is the first time I’ve shared a Little Things Newsletter on Christmas morning, so thank you for letting me be part of your holiday. As you celebrate this weekend, my prayer is that you’ll find hope and joy through Christ’s gift of a savior – the ultimate Christmas gift.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Pastor Steve of New Life Church shared some thoughts that resonated with me in this Christmas letter. If you are weary, my friend, there is hope.
ON THE BLOG this week: Top 10 Fudge Recipes can be made in 10 minutes or less! Creamy, rich homemade fudge is my favorite holiday treat to give as gifts or serve to guests. Unlike traditional fudge recipes that boil on the stove and must be stirred constantly, each of these recipes is easy to make and absolutely delicious.
This was my last recipe post for 2021. I’m ready to curl up on the couch, read through my stack of books, watch our favorite movies, laugh and play all the silly games, and bake and cook my heart out just for fun.
What I’m CRAVING: Tamales! I’ve never actually made them on my own. I’ve only been lucky enough to make them with friends or enjoy eating them after friends have labored to make them. Making tamales is often a whole day-long event and I would love to learn to make them. This recipe looks like a terrific place to start.
My FAVORITE THING this week is this Celtic variation of O Holy Night. You can also listen to the song here on YouTube.
What I’m WATCHING: This collection of Shrek movies has been just perfect for our family movie nights this month. We watched the 2nd and 3rd ones this week and laughed so hard. I’m glad my teens still enjoy the silly movies we’ve loved for so many years.
“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.” – Laura Ingalls Wilder
Wishing you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
