There’s a lot of zombie media with the word ‘day’ in the title, isn’t there? From Day of the Dead to Days Gone, and DayZ, for some reason, there’s a deep connection between the two. Now it seems like that connection gets stronger with The Day Before, a zombie survival title coming to PC and consoles later this year.
If you’re into your zombie titles, you’ll be happy to hear that we’ve compiled all of the important info together in a single place for you. Read on to learn more about this upcoming title.
The Day Before Release Date
The Day Before was announced in January 2021 with a trailer that was scarily similar to the original reveal of The Division back in 2013. Despite some skepticism from the YouTube comments, people got excited by the concept of a true zombie MMO experience.
Well by the time this year is half over, everyone will have had the opportunity to experience it. The Day Before goes public on June 21st, 2022 for the PC version. Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions are expected to follow shortly after.
The Day Before Trailer
There have been some games that you could technically call a zombie MMO before, but it seems like this is going to be the first full experience in the genre outside of stuff like DayZ. The focus here is going to be on actually playing with other people, rather than just straight-up griefing each other, since there will be both PvE and PvP options available.
One detail no one is quite sure about yet is how the game is going to be monetized. The publishers are mostly known for their work on free-to-play mobile titles, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see this game go the same route from a monetization perspective. However, since this is clearly a much more grandiose title, there’s also the possibility of a one-time purchase or subscription model as well.
Check out the gameplay reveal below if you want to see what the game is going to be like. Bear in mind that the experience is still going to be heavily dependent on the servers as well, so take anything you see in a trailer with a pinch of salt.
