Last Updated:

Hyperviolence and horror go hand-in-hand, and when you mix action-heavy gameplay into the mix it becomes a perfect blend for an addictive game, even if the excessive weaponry stops it from being scary anymore. Sker Ritual is a spiritual successor to Maid of Sker that takes the gameplay in a more action-focused direction.

Whether you’re a fan of the original game or not, there are plenty of reasons to check out Sker Ritual, thanks to its dark tone and great gunplay. Check out the game release information that we’ve compiled below if you want to learn more about this game before it releases.

Sker Ritual Release Date

Sker Ritual was only announced incredibly recently for a game coming out this year. In November 2021, a teaser trailer was released showing off some of the game’s gameplay but was mysteriously absent of any sort of release date or release window. Instead, it just reminded viewers that they could wishlist the game on Steam.

Since then, there hasn’t been an official announcement of the game’s release date, but we can look at the Steam page to get an idea of when the game is coming out. Apparently Sker Ritual is going to drop at some point during Q2 2022, assuming that the release date on the Steam page is accurate.

One of the biggest differences between this on the original title is the huge focus on FPS gameplay. The previous title was a first-person horror adventure with no combat, your only recourse was to run and hide from enemies. However, this time around you’re packing more heat than an action movie character if the brief snippets of gameplay we’ve seen are to be believed.

The gameplay is also not just single player anymore. You can team up with 3 other people to take down hordes of enemies in a similar fashion to many co-op horde shooters that have been doing the rounds lately. Some of the weapons look like a total blast too, with crossbows, hatchets, and the classic double-barrelled shotgun all making an appearance in screenshots. Of course, the real proof of the gameplay will be in how satisfying it is to blow enemies apart.

So far, the only gameplay videos we’ve seen come from the teaser trailer that you can check out below.
