I wanted to add a review for using this as a computer monitor in case others were thinking of the same. The unit is very bright. I don’t have to close my windows if I’m looking at high contrast things like text. Color isn’t maybe as good as more expensive projectors, but I found it to be fine. I found that using 1080p resolution for desktop use was better than 4k as the pixels are a bit fuzzy at that resolution which makes text not look as good. This is due to the pixel shifting tech used (any 4k projector sub $1600-2000 will use this). The screen is very detailed at 4k showing movies and games, however, and the pixel shifting kind of adds a bit of an anti-aliasing effect. I dare say I might actually prefer a pixel shifting projector for computer use as it lets you decide between 4k 60hz and 240hz 1080p with both modes having their own strengths. I feel I have two monitors I like for different reasons which is cool. There is just a slight perceptible lag on 4k, but its really not bad. I don’t notice any at 1080p 240hz. And it really does go that high, the difference between 120 and 240hz is noticeable, and it looks really good at the high refresh rate. I actually prefer it over my 144hz 1440p monitor. I don’t think this would be good enough for esports compared to a 240hz monitor, but its very close. Remember to use the game mode.Overall it works better than I expected as a computer monitor and I’m happy with it and feel it was a good value for the money.Other thoughts-I wish the power plug was longer. I’m not going to install this in ceiling, and I had to use an extension cord for it to reach down to a plug that is only a few feet horizontally away.-The remote is a bit old fashioned looking. Not a big deal to me but I think ViewSonic should update the design.-Sometimes the unit makes a strange whirling sound that is annoying. Usually it doesn’t and it has done it less as I have used it. Its not the fan, it sounds like something is spinning that is not lubricated. When this isn’t happening I found the fan noise to be fairly low and constant.-Its very easy to switch between modes like normal and eco, needing only one button to be hit. This is really nice since the bulb has a lifespan. If I know I’m going to step away from the computer for a few minutes or am going to just be looking at text I can switch it to super eco in two seconds.-SuperEco at 240hz flickers, changing to a different refresh rate fixes this. Some tips:-Dynamic Eco is basically as good as normal in terms of color and brightness at least when its showing a bright image. That’s my main setting. I think it just dims when the screen is dark. It is better than eco (but not super eco) in terms of bulb life according to the manual.-Make sure your resolution is 1920 by 1080 if you want 240hz. If its 1920 by 1200 if will default to 120hz.-if the projector is located above you, make sure you turn the projector upside down. It will need next to no keystone correction that way which keeps the image at native.

This is the least expensive native 4K projector I found. The picture is bright enough to watch during daylight and bright and colorful in the dark.

This projector is SUPER BRIGHT. Great for gaming at 1080p. Super smooth 240 hz over HDMI. Only thing I’ve noticed is that some colors look a tad washed out. No deal breaker but just something to keep in mind. Speakers are loud but no bass present. I don’t mind since I always use external speakers from my laptop. Overall 5/5 for me!

I have a View Sonic PX747-4K 3500 Lumens projector for the past 4 years and it has served me well, after seeing the View Sonic PX748-4K 4000 Lumens projector I wanted to see if there was a difference in brightness and Picture and YES it is a STEP UP from the PX747-4K projector, a Brighter Picture and TRUE 4K images for Movies and live programming very impressive and it is 3D ready if you like. I project on a 144″ Screen and in a Sun lite room during the day and I was very impressed with how bright the picture, it was not washed out by intensive light from the windows. This View Sonic projector PX748-4K UHD deserves 5 Stars .

I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Pretty much a WOW experience from the second I turned it on.Bright and vivid colors, even in a lit room. 4000 lumens in 4k is pretty hard to beat at this price point.Believe me when I say that you get way more than you pay for with the PX748-4K. I had an Epson home cinema and this blows anything out of the water in the $2k and under category.Don’t hesitate to buy if you are looking. My Xbox looks amazing and on screen play is smooth with low latency enabled on the projector.I bought a tv tuner box and this thing is amazing for watching any sports game on the big screen.I project onto a 110” screen and have a semi lit basement unless it’s night time. Beautiful picture night or day!

ViewSonic PX701-4K 4K UHD 3200 Lumens projector3D is working already has firmware V1.06. As per the user manual “3D display supported” link on this website or ViewSonic website > Support > DownloadsNo 3D button required, turn ON here:- Main Menu > ADVANCED- 3D Settings > 3D Mode > Auto / Frame Sequential / Off- 3D Sync Invert > Disable / InvertIf option is Greyed Out then change PC HDMI resolution to one listed in the User Manual compatible with 3D e.g. 1920 x 1080 Advanced Display dropdown 120Hz refresh rate.Works with DLP Link glasses e.g: ASIN B07BMS5MTBIf you have 3D Video with 2 Side By Side (SBS) frames next to each other then playback / merging of those has nothing to do with the Projector or the Glasses, a common reason for return.Instead use a free 3D Vision Video Player e.g: NVIDIA-3D-Vision-Video-Player-2.50nvidia com /download /driverResults.aspx /135655Which can merge the video frames into a single Stereoscopic frame: File > Layout > Side By Side& Aspect Ratio > 21:9 so the Heads aren’t squashed.

I replaced an older ViewSonic 1080p projector with this and it’s been night and day in terms of picture clarity and brightness. The fact that I can mount it off center and use both horizontal and vertical keystone to level the picture has been amazing.

Converts regular blue ray to 3D works with my Sony 3D blue ray player.

I know, I know, they’re all made in China in the same factories nowdays, but at least ViewSonic has a well established name brand to protect, so the internal compenents and construction are more robust than the cheap knockoffs with similar specs. There’s a reason why you see this in so many school districts. They hold up. We use these in our business and they just work. Very happy with this latest purchase. Mounts great upside down for permanent installations as well.

Above my expectations. My original idea was electric screen above living room window. Ended up leveling screen to flow with blind rail. This Projector was ceiling mounted at 10’3” to the screen. After just a few moments of adjustments WOW. I’m hearing family and friends already planning to purchase. I rarely write reviews but I was hesitant on this purchase being lower in cost. Compared to others. Don’t be. I’m happy and living room has some light entering with no problems. .
