When I purchased my Stinger flashlight I didn’t realize the model I selected didn’t have the tail cap switch. After using it on a few calls I realized how much I needed it, and this works perfectly.

The Streamlight Stringer is a fine flashlight, or torch as they say across the pond. The original switch on the model I have is located up near the head assembly rather than on the rear, as with most other hand-held lights I’m used to. The beam on the Stinger is amazing and works well as a weapon light. However, the switch was in an awkward place. Also, accustomed to the rear switch, it was odd to have the switching up front. So, I took advantage of Streamlight’s option for a few more bucks.The tail switch is well made, machined to the same finish as the Stinger, and fits like it came with it. It has the Streamlight logo on the rubber switch and a rubber O ring under the cap. Two switches adds redundancy and ease of operation. I would have preferred the switch was OEM’d at the rear in the first place, but now that I have this tail cap I understand why they didn’t. With the stinger HD’s rather hefty weight and length, holding it at the rear with one hand while triggering the cap with the thumb does put a tad bit of torque on the wrist – no big deal, mind you, but it can be felt.A good addition to a fabulous light.

I have an older Stinger LED HL, with only the top button switch. I took a chance & bought this tail switch to have both. Threads fit and now have both a tail & top-of-cylinder on/off/strobe switch. The unit functions as it did before, but with an improvement.A tactically significant improvement. With a $20 upgrade, I didn’t have to buy a new flashlight.
