It took me a long time to select headphones for XBOX gaming & on-line webinars with the added bonus of bluetooth connectivity to my cellphone. I did a tremendous amount of research which is really difficult because the majority of manufacturers website descriptions are geared towards teenagers – all glitter and noise with meaningless videos. Maybe I am old fashioned but I want specifications like the range of the 2.4ghz connectivity – simple questions right? Can I go outside for a smoke or get a cold soda from the frig without dropping my connection – the vast majority did not list the range of their connectivity or if their app for sound adjustments carried over from PC to console (in my case the Xbox). Fortunately, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X has excellent range – I found that standing next to heavy duty electrical devices – like my Samsung Refrigerator caused interference but not a total disconnect, 75′ from the plug in dongle. Moving the Dongle from the XBOX 1X to the PC (2′ from each other) and flipping the XBOX/PC switch was a breeze, syncing the headphones was a no brainer, just turn headphones on they sync immediately, on board headphone controls took a little getting used to especially the bluetooth on/off and the headphones on/off dual switch is poorly labeled with some raised symbols – they should have used some paint to distinguish which position is bluetooth vs headphone power – I have to get a flashlight and glasses to see the markings. Other than that the headphone mute is a locking pushbutton with a audible tone and a red LED on the microphone to let u know if mic is on or off – REMEMBER to SHUT MIC OFF if you are retracting the microphone back into the headset or all kinds of weird feedback will occur – obviously since mic will pickup what’s coming from that side of the headset. I found after messing around with the app that out of the box flat setting was great for most purposes. I have a very high end Dolby ATMOS/DTS:X 7.3.4 surround system so even though the headphones sound decent as compared to a pair of studio quality recording headphones – nothing compares with my home theater speakers. I could wear these headphones for several hours before my ears started to get too warm. Microphone quality on group IP based teleconferences and via bluetooth for telephone calls is excellent and being able to connect to both the Xbox or PC via Quantum 2.0 over 2.4Ghz and to any bluetooth device, in my case my Galaxy phone simultaneously is a welcome feature. Answering a phone call automatically mutes the microphone to the 2.4Ghz connection whether it be the Xbox or the PC.Finally the battery life is pretty amazing – @38 hours for the USB connection only or 26 hours if you have both the USB (2.4Ghz) and the Bluetooth on together. The USB C fast-charge connection on the headphones is very fast with 15-minute charge providing 6 hours of USB time if u are dealing with a completely dead battery – which is an almost impossible situation considering the 38 hour capacity. A real world example is using the headset for 5 hours it took about 15-20 minutes to get it back to 100%.You can customize the appearance of the headset with optional matching metal earcup plates and headband in 4 colors Cherry Red, Mint Green, Lilac & Rose Quartz. It comes with all the cables you will need to charge (USB C male to USB A male – 5′), connect USB C Dongle (including a short USB A male to USB C female to connect to Xbox or to a PC if dongle interferes with PC/Laptop USB C port and other connections), and even a 3.5mm to 3.5mm (4 pin to 5 pin) 4′ audio cable to connect headset in analog mode to Xbox controller or other analog audio input/output headphone/mic jack. If you need a splitter cable for the analog connection to separate mic/headphone you would need to purchase that separately it is on Steelcase website as is the color upgrade options. It also comes standard with the breathable cloth earpieces which can also be replaced with the vinyl cups if u wish also optional on Steelcase website. A rather cheap clothlike storage bag comes with headset – it will at least keep dust and pet hair off your headset.I rate this headset 9.5 of 10 considering reduced Amazon price, excellent sound, range, positive connectivity (no disconnects for me at all), battery life, dual simultaneous connectivity 2.4Ghz & Bluetooth, best microphone quality and best software-controlled sound and microphone control – this after trying and returning other major brands in this price range, and comfort/fit, finish. The only minor complaints are the cheap storage bag and the somewhat difficult combination bluetooth power and overall power on/off buttons being one rocker switch and hard to read labeling for that switch – visually the Bluetooth LED indicator is Blue and the overall power button for the 2 way dongle LED is green – so u know u made a mistake after the fact if wrong color LED is lit.BTW the room I use this headset is LOADED with wi-fi “smart” devices including 8 ceiling LED lights, 4 wall sconce LED lights, 2 wi-fi controlled window shades, Amazon Firecube w/Alexa, LG 77″C1 OLED TV. Xfinity 4K cable box, Xbox1X, all Alexa controlled via 2.4Ghz wireless & hardwired. The key to having all of this in one room is to hardwire as much as possible (main wireless router is in basement, hardwired remote 8 port switch behind A/V racks) – so all of the A/V equipment is hardwired – the lights and shades are 2.4Ghz wi-fi, nothing seems to interfere with the Steelcase 2.4GHz Quantum 2.0 Gaming Wireless connection dongle which is 15′ from where I typically sit with headphones.

I have an arctis wireless pro and when my other arctis 1 wireless died i wanted a better set like my pro’s but not spend as much. Also didn’t have the need for a base station with a laptop. Settled on the nova 7x. 100% happy.- super solid construction. Even mkre than my pros- battery isn’t modular but lasts super long.- usb c and charges really fast- power on Bluetooth independently- indicators for power and mute- mute button feature, wheels, all the tactical controls you want- not bulket but not uncomfortable over ears at all. Actually quite good- some say my mic is better than the pros.- bonus….audio for music is actually surprisingly good…enough for me to use them for that purpose as well as taking calls.

Over the past five months, I’ve rigorously tested the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X with its compatibility with a wide range of devices. Using the dongle, I connected effortlessly to a Windows 10 laptop, Xbox Series S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Android TV, and an iPhone 15. The Bluetooth connectivity was equally reliable, seamlessly pairing with various iPhone models and an Apple TV. In every case, the connection was stable and without any issues. The sound quality is great, little lacking bass side, offering good audio for gaming, movies, and music. What sets the Arctis Nova 7X apart is its comfort for extended use and robust build quality. The battery life is impressive, easily sustaining long gaming sessions or movie marathons. In conclusion, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X stands out with its universal compatibility, great audio quality, and enduring comfort. They are an excellent choice for gamers and movies lovers alike, offering great value and performance.

I had been using a Hyper X Cloud headset that I’ve had for years before the microphone completely quit on me, which led me to snagging this on Prime Day.First off, the headset nails the basics. Sound is plenty good for games and basic music/podcast listening. It’s not gonna have as punchy bass as a Sony or Bose headphones, but that’s a different product category anyways. The microphone is superb, and I’ve even received compliments on how crisp I sounded on phone calls. Battery life is as good as advertised, and the charging is very fast using the right charging brick. The design is also very clean and functional – retractable mic, volume/chatmix dials, and mute button are all as intuitive as they sound and feel premium. Bonus points for not looking very “gamer” either, these are inconspicuous with the microphone tucked away and wouldn’t fetch any stray looks out in public. Now, we start gaining some distance with a feature I wanted but didn’t know how much I’d appreciate it until I had it. Simultaneous sound inputs – one for the included USB dongle, and one for Bluetooth. For example – you can listen to a console via dongle and your phone via bluetooth at the same time. Playing Zelda with a podcast in the background? So nice! Taking a phone call while playing? No problem! It works as seamlessly as you’d hope and something I can’t believe more headsets don’t offer. This is the first product from Steel Series I’ve owned and they’ve made a great first impression. I was skeptical they’d be worth the price, but now I’m just sad I didn’t invest in them sooner.

Bought a pair of the original 7x a while back and returned them almost immediately. They were very comfortable but sounded just ok, felt flimsy, and showed wear very quickly. Tried several other brands, ultimately settling on the Lucid LS50x, and have happily used those for a few years.Bought these after reading the rave reviews about the new Nova Pros and finding them a bit expensive for my use (Xbox only), and man what a difference. The sound quality and directionality are night and day better than the Lucids, which were on par with the original 7x and every other Xbox headset I’ve tried, and the build quality is fantastic.Extremely comfortable, very solid, compact enough that the cans don’t bump the headrest on my gaming chair every time I move, and so light it makes me realize how much neck/head fatigue my old set was causing. Just wouldn’t want to walk around with them much since the strap design is more geared towards prolonged comfort than a secure fit.Hands down the best Xbox headset to date.

This is by far the best headset I have used. Sound quality is great, super comfortable, and the wireless is easy to use.

I use this for R6 Siege and this headset has improved my K/D from a 0.7 to a 1.2. I can hear footsteps from further away. The mic takes some getting used to, but it’s a quality mic.

I bought this as a gift for my brother and its been excellent. Not only have they kept putting out software updates for it with new features, the bluetooth option has been really nice. He can have his headphone connected to discord on his phone and on his playstation at the same time so he can have proximity chat as well. Will probably end up buying this headset for myself again soon. 10 out of 10!

Edit: Unable to find an alternative wireless headset for my needs, namely Xbox and PC capable, at a reasonable price. I tried this headset again.Again the device bricked, this time within a day or so, however I now know why it is bricking. Unlike some of steelseries other headsets this headset cannot handle being too far away from the plugged in dongle. Leaving the room with my wireless headset on my head I can walk maybe 10 feet before the sound cracks and the headset if not immediately brought closer will brick.Fortunately, this time my headset does actually have the reset button it is supposed to have and it works to reset the device. However this is an expensive WIRELESS headset, to have such an issue is embarrassing. If you are unsure of what bricking is here is the gist, the hardware is powered on (in this case) but loses all functionality INCLUDING the power button meaning it is stuck on and cannot use the headset or reboot. As described in the subject, this product bricked 26 days after Amazon’s (turns out false) return window. (I’ll get to why it’s false at the he end for those interested)Second problem with this headset, the fix is a reset button in a pinhole under the ear cover. The pinhole should be in EITHER the left or right speaker, in my case there was a pinhole in both. NEITHER pinhole had a reset button inside, believe I tried to find the clickable button it does not exist. Therefore it is impossible to reset the bricked device.Lastly, I gave Steelseries customer service a descriptive message about my problem, the response I got was to and I quote “Try factory resetting your Xbox Series X console”. The device wasn’t even connected to the console. That suggestion was so far away from helpful I decided not even to bother with this terrible service because it would take hours just to make them understand what the actual problem was.About Amazon’s shady return window. Fortunately, I bought Asurion insurance for the device because in ‘My Orders’ Amazon showed the device was no longer eligible for return, expired after 1 month I think. So I contacted Asurion the insurance Amazon uses. They refuse to honor policy because as it turned out after an hour long phone call, AMAZON has a secret return policy window for certain products like electronics one that apparently you would only know if you called and got a real person to file the return. Amazon MUST cover the product for X amount of time before Asurion will pay for it, so the return window you see in orders is actually a lie, (and in my opinion) designed to make people take a loss on their broken product.
