You CAN charge this from a wall outlet, you could even use the cord that came with your switch, you do not have to be playing it for it to charge. I don’t know why they’re lying about it but they are I literally have it plugged into my wall and it’s working great. I had both of my sets of joy cons charged within five hours after I got this and plugged it into the wall . I will even include pictures showing that it’s charging from the wall, The reason this upsets me is simply twice I almost did not purchase something because of what I read and reviews in both times I decided to go ahead the worst that can happen is I would have to return it and both times I found that The majority of the 3 to 1 star reviews were made up there was nothing true with it and I’m really sad about that, I don’t want people missing out on a great product because somebody is better about a Nintendo product. I will say this and it’s sad and it’s petty but there are a lot of people in the gaming community who were going out of their way to try to make the Nintendo switch fail and I don’t understand it there are problems admittedly I haven’t had any issues with my system and I don’t know anybody that’s had issues with their systems but I have heard reports, but that happens with every product at lunch let’s be realistic. back to the point this product works great I am very happy with it I encourage anybody that has two sets of joy cons to get this one charger after that you won’t need anything else 🙂 I’ve taken pictures with it plugged into the wall I’ve taken pictures of it in comparison to the grip that came with the system, I’ve taken pictures of it connected to the switch while charging, I’ve taken pictures of it connected to the wall connected to the switch while charging,((( now there is one thing you will see that the light is on in all of these pictures , that light don’t stay on the entire time it’s being charged that light shuts off after a couple seconds it’s just like the docking station that light comes on to let you know hey it’s in there and then it shuts off while it charging .))) I hope that this helps guys I’ve just read so much misinformation and there’s a lot of people again who were just really hoping that the switch fails and I don’t understand it, wey Xbox Nintendo PlayStation and even some random offbrand stuff LOL we have every system dating back from nes every major system I’m not a Nintendo fan girl I just love videogames and I hate when I see things being misrepresented because a certain group doesn’t like it

Works as expected. The packaging and instructions weren’t in English although it says U.S version.

First off, yes, you can charge it via the wall. The Nintendo Switch Dock’s AC adapter can be used with the Joy-Con Charging Grip.Second, the Joy-Con Charging Grip (at least mine) should come with a USB to USB C cable. That cable can actually be used with a power bank to charge your Switch!Thirdly, you don’t need to plug the cable into the Nintendo Switch Dock to charge it. If it is a somewhat high powered USB port, it will more than likely charge the Joy-Cons connected to the Charging Grip. In other words, yes a power bank can also be used to charge the Joy-Cons connected to the Charging Grip.If you’re running out of USB ports to charge all the Nintendo Switch accessories which may or may not include the Switch itself, I recommend a “100 PERCENT Hybrid Charging Tower”. Its a charging tower that has two AC outlets, 4 USB outlets, and a detachable 3000 MaH power bank. That right there is pretty much perfect for any Switch set up. Here’s the direct Amazon link to it:https://www.amazon.com/100-PERCENT-Charging-Smartphones-Worry-Free/dp/B01MCRUC2O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1550125283&sr=8-1&keywords=100+percent+hybridBefore you ask, yes, you can use the power bank from that product to charge your Switch. So long as the cable is the one from a Joy-Con Charging Grip set.Oh right, one more thing, you can charge the Joy-Cons with the Charging Grip overnight if you have to. It won’t “overcharge” it so to speak. So charge away if you need to! That’s what they’re for!I lied, one more thing, the cable that comes with the Charging Grip can also be founded bundled with a Pro Controller. Please note that this cable from Nintendo CANNOT be bought by itself! If you want one, you either have to get a Pro Controller, or buy one of these Charging Grips here.Well, that was a longer review than I expected to make for what is (or at least should be) a straightforward device! But seriously though, people don’t talk about the cable being able to charge the Switch itself enough! That’s something very important that every Switch owner should know!

The media could not be loaded. Works perfectly, of course it does. It’s an official nintendo product. Very satisfied

I’ve used the iron Joy-Con grip that came with the console throughout the years. Now with the Joy-Con Charging Grip, it’s just like using the regular grip that I can plug in to charge while I play! Have used this for at least 2-3 years! Will buy again if it breaks!

It’s the JoyCon comfort grip, but it charges. What more do you want?Pros:Holds 2x JoyCon controllers, turning the JoyCons into something resembling a traditional controller. Way more comfortable for larger (adult-size) hands.Charges via USB-C. It’s surprising this isn’t on the default grip.Has a lanyard loop. A lot of people don’t know what the loop on the back is for. People in Japan/Asian often enjoy hanging lanyards (“cell phone charms”) off their devices. This is also useful for keeping your controller to hand at an event, or if you have multiple sets of similar controllers in your home.Same great build. The Nintendo builds are plastic and steel rails, so they’ll last a long time.Cons:None. Just should have been a pack-in for the console.Overall:The most essential purchase for the console. For most people, this is the best control option on the system. Not only does it do almost everything the Pro Controller does, but it still splits back into JoyCons for all their functionality too.

A couple notes first.1. If you plan to play on the TV screen a lot, this item is essential!!2. This item or the pro controller are essential, this one is $30 rather than $70.If you plan to play on your TV screen for extended periods of time, you NEED a chargeable controller. That means you need either this charging handle, or the pro controller. This is $30, the pro controller is $70. So this was a no brainer.my biggest (and only) complaint about the Switch is its lack of charging abilities. If you want to play for long times, straight out of the box, your options are limited.1. You can connect the joy cons to the tablet, and dock it. (Which means no playing.)2. You can use the AC wall adapter and plug it into the tablet-joy con combo. (Which means no tv playing, and you’re tethered to the wall.) and I don’t know about everyone else, but my AC adapter is plugged in behind my tv, and not exactly easy to just move around. So you either have to dock every now and then to recharge, or rearrange your play area.I highly recommend getting this grip!
