This thing is an absolute game changer and a must have for MMOs. I used to have the original OEM chatpad for 360 and resigned myself to not having one when MS never came out with one for current controllers. It didn’t dawn on me until recently that the aftermarket would have a perfect replacement! I’m so glad to have one of these back on my controller.GoodCompatibility – This fits the current Series X controller and the Elite 2! Even better is you can charge the Elite 2 in it’s charging case with it on! My hats off to them, they really did their homework on this one.Backlighting – This is also a great feature that I wouldn’t want to be without. Green was a good choice. It’s not harsh, yet it’s very bright.Bad or not so badFit – Not really a complaint but the fit is probably 99.8% It snaps in there, but there’s the tiniest feeling flex or play in the fit. I’m really nitpicking though, as it’s still very securely on. This is probably as good as it gets with aftermarket.Quality – If I remember right, the original 360 chatpad controller felt like it used much better plastics. As you’d expect, this one is pretty smooth (in contrast to the controller), and a bit light and cheap feeling.Buttons – The buttons are solid rubber with kind of a cheap calculator feel (no tactility). In contrast, the original chatpad did have a click feel when depressing buttons and each key was made of hard plastic. If you have any need to type in game, this is the one to buy. Until MS releases an OEM version, I think this is as good as it gets. It’s very inexpensive and does everything it should.

I was pleased that the keyboard was easy to set up following the simple instructions. I like the fact that it fits so neatly with the XBox controller and takes up much less space than an external keyboard. I am using the keyboard for entering data in MS flight simulator and finding it much easier to use for this than my flight controller..

We love this controller’s keyboard because it saves us time and it is extremely easy to use. It is a plug and play that doesn’t need any complicated installation. We use it for some of the xbox pass games that require writing, as well as for searching for titles and apps. It is very responsive: if you don’t use it and it goes asleep, it wakes up and starts typing right away as soon as you start pressing the keys. Also, it connects flawlessly to the controller. The green light helps when you play in the dark, so you don’t need to turn on the light. Overall, it is a great addition to our Xbox complements.

Easy stuff. This keyboard fits and feels like the official chatpad offered by Microsoft, but with green LED backlit keys. The USB receiver is small in size not unlike the unifying receivers used by Logitech, and feels like the old feature-phone chat keyboards back in the 00s and early 2010s.My primary use has been with my console replacement PC (and a Linux powered PS4 Pro with the Windows controller adapter and cow – Doom and Fallout 4 work well with this setup for the kids using steam on their TV – just remember to have them put it in standby, or it’ll boot back to the PS4 OS, needing a PS 4 controller to interact with and launch the Linux loader), and works as intended within Linux (PopOS 20.04 on the PC, Arch on PS4 Pro). Unlike consoles that have on screen keyboards, linux isn’t quite there as there is no way to interact with it using a controller (yet). This provided me the next best thing – the ability to create character names in Fallout 4, Skyrim, The Outer Worlds, and more, without whipping out the Logitech K400r. I highly recommend this keyboard for non-console use (and potentially for use on XB1, I doubt functionality is different). The backlighting is good and evenly distributed across the keys. The headphone jack currently is useless to me, since I don’t need headset or headphone support with my setup. The keys have a satisfying click on each press and feel similar to the MS offering. The only downside: cost – this is a little overpriced for what it is – a small format QWERTY keyboard, but I suppose multi-system support (console and PC) make up for it in my use.Overall, I highly recommend this keyboard/chatpad simply due to PC compatibility and solid feel.

An amazing substitute for Microsoft stepping out of the game.

Works great. Buttons feel nice. The backlight can be turned on and off manually. The only downside is the dongle has to be plugged into my console 24/7 to use it when I need to. I really wish it just connected via the controller but I just plugged in a USB hub to make up for the used port on my xbox. So a very very minor problem solved. Recommended.

Loved the jack bends so u can plug into controller the way that works for you.. very pleased

If you play in groups, this knocks out the issue of clear and quick communication and fits snug in my factory controllers. I have bought 4 of these over the past few years and is something I just add to my purchase whenever I get a new console or controller.

Have a current Xbox controller that came with my Xbox Series X, this Chatpad fit it perfectly. At first I was concerned that it made the Xbox detect that there was an audio device plugged in, but it’s plug for audio folds away if you don’t want to use it.Also came with instructions, and paired automatically. I’m satisfied.
