Good compact machine, very easy setup, simple and quick connection to my home wifi, quick loading of BD discs and DVDs. A good, basic machine, low cost, and seems “solid” in every way. The remote is simple (uncomplicated) and very serviceable; it’s small, but no bigger than it needs to be, which is very good. If the unit has any down side, I’d say that the services it comes supplied with in the online area are mostly not useful to me, most seem expired or don’t deliver anything. There’s not yet a firmware update (as of March 23, 2023) available for the machine, and maybe an update will contain new and more useful icons to click on which will be up to date and operable, we’ll see. I like this machine!, and it supplements another Sony BD player of mine which has been made “region-free” for BDs and DVDs, but which has no wifi capability. The two players now use up both HDMI inputs into my LG TV. Another great provision of this player is that it comes along with an HDMI cable in the package. I think it is a bargain at the price.EDIT [added March 26, 2023]: I find that the user manual is unclear or incorrect about ADDING apps to the “[My Apps]” area of the Home Screen. Here is what works for me: To ADD apps to the [My Apps] area, first click the large “+” (plus) sign in the [My Apps] area. A new screen of apps, “[All Apps]”, will appear. In that new screen of [All Apps] icons (tiles), click on one that you want to add to [My Apps]. The selected app will then appear in [My Apps]. To add more apps from [All Apps] to [My Apps], repeat this. I have not yet tried REMOVING apps from [My Apps], but I’ll take a look at that soon. — J.L.M.EDIT [added March 29, 2023] To REMOVE an app from [My Apps], click “Options” and use the Remove selection.

I had an earlier version of the Sony Blu Ray DVD player, but it was really, really slow in all of its functions. I bought this newer version because the reviews I read indicated the functionality was much better. The reviewers were right. Everything about this DVD player is better, faster, and dependable.

I needed a new player and this DVD player works awesome. It recognized my tv with no problem and without typing in a code.It connects to a wi-fi network easily and allows video streaming without using a cable. I have played several DVD’s and the picture quality can’t be beat. The sound is nice and clear with no fade outs. It has a remote, hdmi cable and quick start manual and 2 batteries in the box, so no purchasing them separately. I am thoroughly impressed with this and hope to get many years out of it.

My girlfriend bought me the first one as a gift which I use in my living room. When I decided I also wanted a DVD player for my bedroom, I purchased the same one. It’s great. Great picture quality, lots of extras / options.

I had a Blu-Ray player from when they first came out, but watching DVDs on it was nearly impossible because the quality was so fuzzy on a bigger screen. Since I had some TV series sets I wanted to watch on DVD, I decided to try this. (Cheaper than buying all the digital episodes!) And it worked! The quality is a lot better, and I can watch my DVDs without getting a headache. I also love how small it is too.

This is a very small and compact Blu-ray player. Very easy to set up. Very high-quality picture. I have been very impressed so far with this product. I bought this item used, but you could hardly tell it had been used at all. A great value with a trusted name like Sony.

GREAT PLAYER, MY ONLY PET PEEVE IS THAT IT SHOULD COME WITH TWO CONTROLLERS, THE COMPLICATED ONE WITH 50 BUTTONS HALF OF WHICH YOU ONLY PUSH BY MISTAKE, AND ONE THAT YOU WOULD USUALLY USE WITH PLAY, STOP, FF, F REVERSE, JUMP FORWARD, JUMP REVERSE, FREEZE FRAME…. ON OFF… NO OTHER BUTTONS ARE NECESSARY AND I HATE PRESSING THE WRONG BUTTON ALL THE TIME BECAUSE THEY’RE SO SMALL AND THERE’S SO MANY UNECESSARY BUTTONS, LIMITING THE BUTTONS AND THEY COULD BE BIGGER AND EASIER TO PRESS THE RIGHT ONE…

Another quality product from Sony. If you need a blu-ray player at a great price, this is the one. Walt’s supplier has been awesome with all my electronic purchases. Highly recommend!
