This was recommended highly to us. We spent much much for a different kind of antenna and this one works so much better. Someone that works in the tv industry recommended this kind. Well worth it.

After doing some research, I found out pretty recently that if you have one of those strong antennas, but you live super close (within 15mi, check via rabbitears.info) to your TV stations, it actually hurts the signal! It’s something about the strong signal/amplifiers causing distortion if it’s too close. I thought it was just wishful thinking, so I got this antenna expecting for my signal to be worse especially since this was cheaper than other antennas I’ve paid for. Boy was I wrong. While I didn’t get more channels, my channels have NEVER been this clear!! Half of my channels used to cut out on a routine basis, and with any kind of movement. Not anymore! I can walk around the antenna and cars can drive by my house without it cutting out. It pairs even better with an antenna caster (like AirTV/HDHomerun) so I can get this good signal everywhere in my house. I’ll probably buy more eventually just in case if my WiFi goes out.If you’ve been using a flat antenna, struggle to get a steady signal because you’re too close to your stations, and aren’t ready to get an outdoor antenna, this will be a game changer! This reception feels just as good as when I paid for these channels, and now I have them all for free. Thanks, Phillips!

I’m so glad I bought this! I had an older, powered antenna with a disc and rabbit ears and while ok, it was unsightly, and also had to be placed higher, and on a wall to pull in half of my local channels. This new one is flat, sleek, unobtrusive. I did have to place it on a shelf unit above the tv, to bring in the most channels. Best advice- experiment with where you place this, until you get the channels you want. It sat nicely n the top of the flat screen, but I got more by positioning it higher.

We ditched cable about 6 months ago in favor of all the free streaming services. Needed this for local stations, though. Picks up all the local stuff (about 30+ channels), no static, great reception. Got it primarily for college football that seems to always be on network tv. Really don’t notice the antenna especially with a big tv. Really good price for what it does.

I have a (rudimentary) Smart TV. I also live in a fairly urban area so I get a decent number of broadcast signals.Easy install, looks good. The antenna found 60+ HD channels. More importantly, it gets all of my local news channels (essentially THE reason why I used to have cable as we use streaming for everything else). Was VERY pleasantly surprised. I can see all of the antenna channels/programming descriptions in my TV guide menu (a huge plus).

As the title says, it pulls 30 digitalChannels out of thin air.We cut the satellite cord and go 100% streaming.I wanted the locals for the 5:30 news so bought this antenna based on the good reviews.Plugged it in, put it on top of the TV and tuned the tv, 30 channels, maybe 6 HD and the picture is crystal clear on them. Very happy, i didnt need to mess around placing the antenna in the window, hardly noticeable on the top of the tv, it’s smaller than it looks in the pics, maybe 15” wide.We are rural but it didn’t seem to matter.Product has a lifetime warranty so we registered it.I did plug the amplifier in too.

I’m don’t have local channels anymore after cutting the cord a few years ago. We are having horrible fires here in the Texas Panhandle and I needed local channels to see what is going on around me. Easy installation, scanned my TV first, as instructed, and set up was a breeze. I now have all my local channels and a total of 30 channels all together! Just what I was looking for!

I almost never do reviews anymore but I’ll make an exception for the Philips Modern Loop Rabbit Ears Indoor TV Antenna SDV7114A/27. This is the best $15 I have spent in a long time.I was born in the early 1950s, when TV was a new thing. Few people had TVs, and you could tell who did by the antenna outside the house, on a pole, higher than the roof. Antenna was the only way to receive a TV signal. Indoor antennas were called “rabbit ears” because of the “V” configuration. Those were (and still are) VHF (very high frequency) antennas. UHF (ultra high frequency) antennas usually are in the form of a circle or loop. When cable TV service was canceled in my household, it removed my ability to receive broadcasts of the local NFL team (the Saints, actually). And maybe because I am “old school” I’m not too fond of “streaming” TV. In any case, with football season eminent a couple of weeks ago, I started researching antennas. I read up on a few dozen models and brands, of different types. Some of the claims were obviously bogus; for example, there is no such thing as a 4K or HDTV antenna: a TV signal is a TV signal. It will be either UHF or VHF, depending on the broadcasting TV station, and that’s about the end of it. Also, an amplifier may not be necessary, and can make the signal worse. Obviously, the fewer active electronics in any device, the less it’s going to cost and the components that can fail are also fewer. So I decided on the Philips antenna. At that price, no great loss if it doesn’t work.My TV (Amazon Fire TV) sits 17 miles from New Orleans as the crow flies. New Orleans is of no particular importance in this discussion – I mention it so people can decide if the terrain in their area is similar. There are no mountains, tall buildings, or anything like that between my TV and the city. This matters: those things interfere with TV signals. In other words, your results may vary. TV signals also do not penetrate metal or concrete very well.So I connected the Philips antenna to the TV (coaxial cable) and ran the “scan” app. Thirty-five channels were detected. I expected four or five. ALL of them came in as clear as can be. Unfortunately, the channel that carries the Saints was not one of them (it’s a UHF channel, for what that’s worth – most channels are VHF). So I moved the antenna from behind the TV on the window sill about three feet away. Scanned again. 56 channels! All of them come in as clear as can be, including the channel with the football. And this window is on the west side of the house, whereas the TV station is on the opposite side, to the east.I would give this thing ten stars if I could, but really that’s ten stars for old school technology. New is not necessarily better, nor are bells and whistles.

This works 1,000x better than all the others and is a must buy!!!I have three other flat/”paper” type antennas & I even bought a $150+ antenna but this one blows all the others out of the water!!!After trying the others and even buying the most expensive one Amazon sells (that I definitely returned) I was getting discouraged and coming to terms with the fact that we’d never get the local channels we wanted to watch… However, after much frustration I figured I’d try ONE more antenna and give this one a shot..I plugged this one in 5 minutes ago and was blown away by the amount of channels & the clarity so I rushed right over to my phone to order another one for our bedroom tv & to write this review so other people won’t have to face my same frustration! As an added plus for someone that is mildly OCD, the low profile design looks MUCH better and far less noticeable than the stupid paper type antennas you’re supposed to stick to the wall or a window!

It works great and is easy to install…it did come with a sticky residue on it from the stickers being pulled off. It was a used one, so not the worst thing in the world.
