These little guys are amazing. I bought them to keep an eye on my new kitten while I’m at work. For $35 I was not expecting much, basically some grainy video that was just good enough to watch my cat while connected to the same WiFi network. I was really surprised at everything about these little drop cams.Video:Video quality is awesome – you have a choice between 1080p HD, regular “SD” which I assume is 480p, and 360p for bad connections. I have had no issues streaming live video over my cell connection at work at full 1080p. They also have excellent night vision. My kitty likes to hide under the bed, so naturally I put one of these down there so I could watch him. Crystal clear even in the middle of the night.Audio:The camera has two-way audio and it generally works great. I can hear what’s going on on the camera side with no problems. Sometimes, especially over a cell connection from work, the audio from me to the camera isn’t the greatest quality ever, but my fiancé tells me that it still comes through loud and mostly clear. I’ll take that for the price.PTZ:The PTZ features are also great. Again, I can move the camera from miles away, over a cell connection, with no problem. It’s not jittery and the movement and connection are rock solid. It also has a nifty little motion tracking feature that will follow any motion detected in the frame. It doesn’t always work perfectly and sometimes gets confused by reflections in the mirror, but it generally works and follows my cat as he moves around the camera’s surveillance area. It will also highlight any moving objects in the frame with a green box, and can be set to sweep the area automatically.Recording:Video and still recording are both awesome. It has a slot for a MicroSD card if you want to store video locally on the cam, but it’s not necessary unless you want the camera to auto-record. I don’t want my cameras recording without me telling them to, so that’s not me. I haven’t felt the need to install an SD card because the Wyze app connects to the photo album on your phone, and will store stills and vids there. Very cool. And the video recordings are excellent in terms of both audio and video.Price:These little guys are only $35. Enough said. At that price point you’d expect a product that is significantly lower in quality, but Wyze really delivered a quality product for that price. I would have paid double what I did for these and they still would have been a great value.Presentation:The cams are beautifully packaged in a very Apple-esque way. White boxes and everything fits together just right.App:The app is very intuitive and easy to use. You can hold the phone in portrait and use a D-pad on your screen to PTZ the cam, or turn the phone landscape and just swipe up/down to tilt and left/right to pan. Whichever orientation you choose, you pinch to zoom. All of these movements are smooth and effortless. Setup is a breeze too. You create your account, pick which model of WyzeCam you have, enter your WiFi details, push the setup button on the camera, and the app generates a QR code for the camera to scan. Just hold your phone in front of the camera and it sets itself up. Probably the easiest device I have set up in my start home, and I have Nest products everywhere (which are also incredibly user friendly and easy to setup).Overall this is a great product. My only “con” isn’t really a con, more of a wish list item: I’d love it if I could access my cams over a web interface. Wyze’s website suggests that something like that might be in the works, but so far the cams can only be accessed from he Wyze app.For the price, you can’t beat these things.

The media could not be loaded. This little camera is VERY impressive. I currently own a Nest IQ indoor camera and have owned a couple Foscam indoor cameras in the past. This Wyze camera produces excellent picture quality and has a very easy to use app. The fact that you get 14 days of clips storage for free just blows the Nest cam out of the water. This camera does so much that the 10x more expensive Nest Cam IQ at a fraction of the price. So how does this stack up against the much more expensive Nest Cam IQ indoor camera?* You don’t get continuous recording stored online, you only get clips stored online. However, you can pop a $10 32GB microSD card into this Wyze camera and get continuous local recording (meaning it’s being recorded on the card in the device). You can view your recordings in the app. At HD quality, you get a couple days storage on a 32GB card, more if you go SD quality.*You don’t get the ability to turn the camera on/off based on whether or not you are home. Personally, I really like this feature so it isn’t recording us when we’re home. Just feels weird. Wyze support says they may add this via IFTTT in the future. You can control whether or not motion recording is on when you are home using IFTTT. However, I”ve found it a little buggy.*You don’t get the Nest IQ facial recognition which is very high tech. I’m not sure how important this is for an indoor camera. It’s amazing for the Nest Hello doorbell.*You don’t get a monthly fee with the Wyze cam. You pay a fee for the Nest Cam IQ.I can’t believe this thing is so cheap and works so well. It has so many features like the big guys. Even the two-way audio is decent. If I had one complaint, it’s that the motor that rotates the camera is a little loud. I’m still giving this 5 stars. I guess its sensitivity to sound is a little high too.It seems like it’s too good to be true. If you are looking for an indoor security camera, you found it.TIP: I am using this SD card in the camera and it’s working fine. Inexpensive and does the job if you want local recording – . Silicon Power-32GB High Speed MicroSD Card with Adapter – New Edition NOTE: In the video, I have the camera attached to a mini-tripod. The camera has a standard screw mount for a tripod. You can get a little tripod for around $10. I like it because it raises the camera a bit and provides some extra stability, decreasing the chance it can be knocked over.—– 07/2019 HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS TO COMMENTS PEOPLE HAVE LEFT BELOW —– Yes, it will continue to do its cloud recording when you have an SD card installed. There is an “events” tab on the main page of the app for the clips. You can also open a specific camera and tap “view playback” to see the continuous recording. When viewing on the SD card, there is a delay as it loads up the video. For example, you scroll the time line back 8 hours then there is a 3-4 second delay as it loads the chunk of video around that time. Once it loads, you can move back and forth in it instantly.- I am going to say my 32GB card is getting a little over 3 days recording in a room with only light activity. I can’t speak to how that time grows as you increase the size of the card. I’m not sure if 64GB would get you 6 days. Seems like it would though.- To the person that thinks the app is useless, I’m sorry to hear you are having such troubles. I think the app works well on my Android phone (I don’t know about iOS). However, I do believe that those kinds of things can happen. It’s not a perfect app and they are adding features which can introduce bugs. Considering the cost of this camera, the app is phenomenal but some people are going to have problems. Hard to predict.- The other app question about it being efficient – yes, it works much better than those other cheap camera app. There is about a 2-3 second delay before it brings up live video. I’m not experiencing freezing. However, that is heavily dependent on the network in your home and the network you are using on your phone when you access it (e.g. mobile, slow WiFi, etc.).- I’m not sure about the comment about not auto-rebooting when you lose WiFi? I’ll say that the cameras survive power failures perfectly. We just had a three hour one last night. Booted right back up. I have reset my network periodically which causes my WiFi to go down for about a minute and the cameras come right back online.I’m still using this one and the regular Wyze cam. I still think these are SHOCKINGLY good values. I feel like I wasted so much money on my Nest cam. I should sell it and buy 5-6 Wyze cams.

I started out with the basic Wyze cam and was so impressed by what I received that we picked up several more. Then the cam version cam out and picked up that too. We currently have eight Wyze cams different versions throughout our household. Price, quality, customer support and ease of use is why we have stuck with Wyze products and will for the foreseeable future. The Good – Price, quality, features Customer support Free storage No fees Up to 32 GB local storage Frequent updates Recording qualityThe Not So Good – Limited to a maximum micro SD card size 32 GB At dawn and dusk the ‘auto’ setting for light can jump back and forth for a few minutes between IR and day camera modes The cam motor can be a bit on the noisy side if nearbyThe biggest difference between the original Wyze cam and the Pan version is of course movement. You don’t get a full 360 degrees but close enough. All the settings you would find on more expensive setups you get with this including time lapse. The motion sensing can be on or off. You can set sensitivity and detection areas. Notifications work all the time without fail. When triggered the clip is sent to your phone no matter where you are. The IR video is easy to see. You can set it to pan scan the full range or just a set area. The clarity of the images is good enough that you can make use of the zoom function and still be able to see things well.Unlike other systems there are never any fees after purchase for saving your recordings. I have SD cards in all of ours (not needed just an option). That way I record 24/7 as opposed to shorter video clips when activated. After about five days it will start to overwrite the oldest recordings (not saved). FYI cards should be formatted exfat not ntfs. The system worked great with google to start and now you can even use Alexa devices like the show to view live streamed. I have had great success with Wyze to date twice I encountered hiccups but it all was easily worked out. Thanks in large part to one of the best customer support teams I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Polite, friendly, U.S. based, they know their products and don’t just read from a script and best of all they actually listen to what you have to say. Better still if you need to contact them after all is said and done you’ll be sent an email asking how your support went? not typical as you then get to choose how to reward the support person w/gift cards, coffee, movie tix. A company that treats its employees well, what goes around comes around and it works! All said we got started with Wyze products to keep track of family. To keep an eye on both kids and our mom who is older and falls at times. These products enable us to check in and make sure everyone and everything is where it should be and okay. Yes it is great to keep tabs on garbage pickup or deliveries but there is so much more. I still worry when we have to leave our mother alone for short periods of time but being able to take a quick look around and know all is okay? The peace of mind, I cannot say enough good on that aspect. There are fun bits too. Like setting up slow motion for something like a big snow? Watching it pile up or melt down? Just one example. Or putting out food for the critters, squirrels, rabbits, and birds then watching them all eat together cafeteria style, something only the Wyze cam caught. While not fun it also came in handy last year. We got hit with a bad very localized hail storm. The cams had been running and caught it all. I was able to take the vid email to our agent as further proof. The Wyze Pan is just a more versatile version of their great original Wyze Cam version. There aren’t many products out there that give you so much value for the dollar IMHO. Plus getting it all backed with fantastic U.S. based customer support. I have recommended these to family and friends alike for all the reasons mentioned.

I love these cameras. Both the pan and the stationary. I’ve had several different app cameras and home security camera systems… And for the price with the features and video quality, these are hands down the best bang for the buck. I’m buying more to eventually replace my wired camera system. I just hope the manufacturer continues to improve the software.Pros: cheap, great day & night picture quality. App is very easy to use. Super simple to configure. Lots of features. Great detection notification, even with person identification. The 7 second detection clip sent to you is great Expandable memory. Panning and motion tracking are very useful. As is the ability to manually move the camera nearly 360 around the room.Cons: app only access; no website viewing. Very sensitive motion and sound detection even when turned down (had 12 motion notifications in a few hours because of a fly). The Pan Cam every so often resets the detection zone to default. Not a bad thing because it increases the detection area, but if your area is high traffic you’ll get a lot of notifications. The mic/ speaker are only useful in small quiet rooms. Large areas with any background noise makes it impossible to distinguish what’s being said. Plus the delay from send and receive, but I didn’t buy for 2 way communication. The pan movement can be finicky, and not as precise as you’d like (for the money however it’s not a true complaint at all).I wish: I wish the app would allow all the videos to stream at once. You have to click on each camera to see live feed. If you have good internet it’s only an inconvenience of an extra click and a few seconds to load, but coming from streaming wired cameras it’d be a nice feature to add. Weatherproofing or some kind of IP rating would be fantastic. Two of my cameras are currently outside, under awnings, in aftermarket housings, and protected, and work flawlessly, but there’s that uncertainty of failure at some point.Bottom line: I constantly recommend these cameras. Several of my friends have them set up and love them. Cheapest best, most feature packed cameras on the market. Worth the $25-35 price all day in my opinion.

Got two of these as an alternative to typical baby cameras for the kid’s rooms. The video quality is impressive, and the pan/tilt/zoom functionality adds a layer of surveillance control. Night vision is stellar, and setup is a breeze. While smart home integration is limited, this camera delivers top-notch features at an unbeatable price. The plastic build is a minor drawback, but for the value, it’s a small compromise.Pros:- Crisp 1080p Quality: Crystal-clear video day or night.- Pan/Tilt/Zoom Functionality: Total control from the app.- Night Vision Excellence: Exceptional clarity in low light.- Wallet-Friendly Price: Top-notch features at a fraction of the cost.- Easy Setup: Effortless installation and user-friendly app.Cons:- Limited Smart Home Integration: Works best within the Wyze ecosystem.- Plastic Build: Feels a bit lightweight.

The media could not be loaded. We have 3 outdoor and 4 indoor nest cams. We also pay for the annual subscription to all. As you can you can imagine a lot of expense has gone into the security. Greater than 1k and climbing every year.My daughter in New York who has fios purchased 1. $36 and that is it. She has shared the viewing with me. Works like a charm. I had to set up my own wyze account. The camera faces her chinchilla which is a nocturnal creature. The night vision is incredible. I can zoom in without it disrupting her view mode. I can pan and tilt remotely. I like it so much I bought us one. At $35 compared to what I have put into nest, it could be disposable. My first camera came in. Our router is dual 5/2.4. All items are connected to 5 and the router distributes accordingly. Nest can use 5. Wyze is 2.4. We had to connect to 2.4 manually. Inputting the network name had to be precise to include case sensitive. We were accustomed to using our phones to scan Q codes. A blonde moment – the cam scans the Q code. That took us an extra 5 minutes for set up. All in all it took at the most 10 minutes to set up.Our internet gets 100 down and if we’re lucky 5 up. So far it was able to handle the load of all nest, 3 echo shows and one wyze. So I decided to push it to the limit and bought 2 more wyze. After going the first set up, the 2nd took less than 3 minutes. However it did put a strain on our upload speed. I decided not to hook up the 3rd until I test all of their functionality.I set up tinycam pro on my firesticks, show and fire 10 tablet. (Pro was free) I am in awe. the set up was very easy. Just remember you MUST assign different channels for each camera in the advanced area of the program to get them to work. Amazon sells a 24 inch insignia fireTV for $99. I purchased that for viewing in tile mode. You can put in a SD card which loops. No need to delete old video. No need for nest subscription. That is a $450 a year savings. RV camping – no need for internet for security. All can be recorded to the SD card for viewing later, but you do need electricity.Nest offers one feature that really outshines wyze and that is zoned for motion detection. Wyze is all or nothing, nest I can create zones for motion and notification. Nest also has color coding for these zones. Nest does not have pan/tilt, wyze does. Nest has outdoor cameras, wyze does not. There are 3rd party vendors who have protective covers. Nest viewing area is almost twice the size of wyze. Nest cameras $149 – $199, wyze $25 – $35. Nest 10 day subscription annual cost $100 for 1st camera $50 for each additional camera, wyze $0 with a 14 day a few seconds motion detection alerts. A memory card for continuous recording. Wyze & Alexa, Nest & Google. For me, I’m going to keep both nest and wyze. I’ll take down 2 nest and put up 2 wyze.

I recently became a Dog Dad and now that I have walkers and dog sitters in my home when I’m not there I thought it’s time to get some indoor security cameras. There are so many options today from super cheap to super expensive, and I was almost going to bite the bullet and get the Nest indoor cams (I already use their smoke detectors and I’m a Google Android user so figured keeping it ‘in the family’ would be best) but then found these and figured why not since the reviews were very good.SO HAPPY I DID! The camera itself is very well designed and super minimal which I love. The size is ideal, not too big/not too small, and the spin feature is awesome! I’ve placed one on top of my coffee grinder in my kitchen and the other on a bookshelf that looks down my hallway to my main door.Setup was super easy since it’s literally just the camera, AC plug, and Micro-USB cable. It doesn’t come with a MicroSD card, so I bought two 128GB cards for both cameras thinking that would be enough space. From the time I unboxed to downloading the app and setting up my account both cameras were working in under 10-15 minutes! I did hit a sang when updating the firmware, the app gave me the option to update mulitple devices at the same time but that didn’t work, but worked perfectly when I did one at a time. The app interface is super easy to use and works great on my Samsung Galaxy s10 phone. Again simple/not cluttered design making it super easy and intuitive to do and get to exactly what you want. I love that I can easily schedule when in the day they need to be on, such as the hours I’m not there and at work, and that they turn off around the time before I return home.Accessing and using remotely via cell, not Wifi, also works great. Tested this morning while walking to a nearby breakfast spot and leaving Espen (my baby girl) out so I could see what she does when I’m gone. Both cameras pulled up in seconds and I was immediately able to see Espen sitting by my front door waiting for me to return, then walking around a bit. These cameras literally provide everything I wanted in an indoor security camera. Great video quality, easy to use, can access anytime from my mobile, and do much more all for ridiculously less than ‘major brands’ who are charging almost x5’s the amount per unit. The only negative thing, and it’s not really a negative as I haven’t spent time to figure it out, is how the storage of video footage works or how to quickly see how much space remains on the 128GB MicroSD cards I added to both cameras. If you’re in the market for indoor security cameras and don’t want to spend a fortune on equipment and hosting services I can’t recommend Wyze enough.

I was looking for an inexpensive way to see the view from the west side of my house on my TV which is mounted on the west wall of my living room. Unfortunately, the downstairs of my house only has windows facing the west inside the master bedroom (directly behind the living room wall).Living in the main house we only had a view from our kitchen and living room to the backyard. The day we moved in I said I would find a way to get this problem resolved by using a WiFi cam that tied into the TV. After arbitrarily researching over the past 1+ years, I came across this little Cam and figured, “why not give it a go…”. Reading some reviews, I kind of got the impression it would work with my Fire TV Stick. But first I investigated what App came on the Fire TV Stick and I saw 3 apps available. So I went ahead and purchased it hoping one of them might work. The day arrived, I got it – yea!! Now on to hooking it up, which was ridiculously easy. That is plugging it in anyway. Of course I downloaded the Android APP and did everything needed and I was up and running in no time. Now for the TV. Of course none of the APPS on the FIRE TV Stick worked. Well, that’s not to say they won’t but I wasn’t ready to spend hours or days or weeks trying to figure out all the techno guru stuff required to make it work. After a couple of hours of researching I found someone indicate that it would work by going to and downloading the Wyze App at apkmirror.com. After searching “Wyze” I found the suggested download of 2.0.26, downloaded it to my USB thumb drive, mounted the thumb drive and my wireless keyboard to the Fire TV Stick, opened ES Explorer and installed the APP. Woohoo! It worked – But NO IT DIDN’T!! I mean it did work, but my picture was squeezed at the top of the screen – UGH!!! The APP was thinking Portrait mode, not landscape mode. So off to do more research on how to turn the image 90 degrees. After researching and researching, I came up with nothing. But then I thought, “I cannot be the first one to have this issue…”. I went back to APKMirror.com and downloaded the latest APK 2.3.69 after reading through all the versions. I can’t recall which version fixed this but one of them I read a blurp indicating they gave it the ability to rotate the image. So I went for it and downloaded the latest version hoping that the option flowed into the newer versions.SUCCESS!! After installing, I notice those 4 little “crop” marks in the upper right hand corner of my screen. Clicked on it and WALLAH! My screen rotated and I got my landscaped Full Screen of my Window. Now we can stair at the TV while cooking dinner and see the storms approaching from the west. Most people would have rated this between 1 and 4 stars. However, I went into this expecting not to get what I wanted. What I got however, was a great camera at a great cost. I am fortunate that I had been in IT for the past 40+ years so troubleshooting isn’t a stranger to me. For those feint of heart, well – that’s why you hire, Computer Techs, CPI or other technology firms to do this for you.Oh – one last note. For those who do not know how to work “inside” the operations of the Amazon Fire TV Stick, please take the time to research and understand how to use your TV stick “outside the box” so-to-speak…Good luck. Now on to getting more Wyze devices pointed all over the place. I found buying many of these devices on the Wyze website might turn out to be less costly. However they do charge shipping so I need to do a bit more research for promo codes, etc…
