This little alarm is incredible! My 16 year old daughter has to catch the city bus at 5:30 am for school. Tons of drug addicts around that stop. I bought her pepper spray and this alarm. It’s light weight, the flashing white light is extremely bright and the alarm is ear piercing loud. It would shock anyone who wasn’t expecting it. That would give her enough time to pull out pepperspray. It’s a great product. I’m happy I found it

In an informal, unannounced test of this product on my wife, her jumping, screaming, and cursing was still quite audible despite the noise from the alarm. I would not recommend this testing approach, as this alarm is quite startling and jarring if you are not expecting it.PROS:1. Perfect for hanging on a backpack, purse, or belt loop. Using this method, all you have to do activate the alarm is tug on it.2. It looks like a flashlight or a key fob for your car, so you can take it in places where you cannot carry more powerful self-defense tools.3. The light is an unexpected bonus. It is quite bright and useful for its size. When you set off the alarm, the light starts flashing to draw visual attention to it.4. The sounds is very distinct and attention-grabbing. It will not be mistaken for anything else.5. It’s fun for pranks, if you can run fast or duck.CONS:1. I do not think it is quite as loud as claimed and my admittedly low quality decibel meter agrees. Decibels are just a number and I still think the main thing is that the sound is distinctive enough to get attention in most any environment.2. The sound can be muffled significantly by just grabbing the alarm and wrapping your hand around it. If this alarm is deployed, a user needs to be aware of this and needs to keep moving as much as possible to prevent this from happening.I would prefer to give this 4.5 stars, but because of the price point and value for the money, I give it 5.0 stars.

Working in the real estate industry is scary at times. Entering homes with strangers, meeting new people…you never know what you’re going to encounter. I already have pepper spray from this brand, but it’s always good to be prepared! I hope I never have to use it, but it makes me feel better with it on my key ring.In addition to using this for personal safety against people, this would also come in handy if you’re walking and encounter an animal. It may scare them away.What I like:- It’s small. It takes up as much room as a normal key chain.- It’s simple to use. Pull the pin and the alarm goes off. Put it back in and it stops.- The noise is loud. It’s not enough to where you need to plug your ears immediately, but it’s loud enough to cause people to look and be startled if they aren’t expecting it.- It has a flashlight for safety as well!What I think could improve:- I like the pin activation feature because it’s easy to use. However…. if your keys are heavy or gets stuck in your purse and you pull too hard, it could activate on accident. I haven’t had this happen yet but it’s something I worry about.- *** The alarm WILL sound if you press the flashlight button 4-5 times in a row. I read the directions twice and do not see it mentioned. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t print this in the directions?? It seems really weird unless it’s a flaw with my product.Overall, I’m going to buy one for my female family members to have in their purse. They are cheap and you can never be too prepared!
