I was home alone for two weeks, and I wanted something to have with me just in case something were to go wrong. I’m pretty paranoid, so I wanted to get this alarm for some piece of mind. At first, I was afraid to trigger it because I didn’t know how loud it would be or if it would even work. That being said, it pulls off easily and produces a loud, sharp noise. It’s also easy to reattach the chain so the alarm stops. I keep it on my keys, which I either have on me or next to my nightstand table. I don’t know what the two button-looking things are on it, but even though they’re pointless I don’t mind them. The design is simple, and it’s small which is a plus. I hope I don’t have to use this, but it’s a nice gadget to have.

Added security for those nighttime walks and runs. Very small and easy to use. VERY LOUD, so when trying it out found opening it under a pillow worked well.

This SABRE Personal Alarm is very easy to use and is indeed quite loud. We gave one of these to my daughter after taking one of “Refuse to be a Victim” classes and feel much better that she has it on her when traveling in states where she isn’t permitted to use other means of protection.The fob can be used as a key chain or attached to just about any strap on a backpack, purse, or even a belt-loop. The alarm is activated when the fob is pulled off the ring, which takes a determined effort. The resulting alarm is quite loud and very attention getting.This is a decent choice for anyone concerned about their safety, just be sure to test it periodically to insure you know how it works and that the batteries are still working.Highly Recommended!CFH

Good concept for an alarm, I have it on a lanyard. It functions well. I imagine it could be useful in an emergency situation. It is loud, it will draw attention. It was an inexpensive way to let my wife feel more at ease.

my upstairs neighbor pounds on the floor every morning. at first i gave him the benefit of doubt. and just thought he was a one legged man putting on his wooden leg. then one day when driving home i saw him walking in shorts. both those legs looked real to me. so i decided to buy one of these.So now when thumper starts his morning routine, i just pull the chain to set this loud alarm off. i let it go for a while after he stops thumping. i do this so he thinks he is setting of my fire alarm. and it seems to work.

I walk with my dogs and like solitary trails. But that sometimes puts me in anxiety of being alone. I could fall. My dogs could get hurt. This makes me feel safer that I could pull the chain and toss it so that it would be heard in a large area and someone locate me – even when I could not call or use my rape whistle. Unfortunately… women always have to have this on their mind – even with 2 big dogs.

It’s definitely loud. I was worried that the pin would come out of the end accidentally while it’s on my bag but it has a solid snap when it comes out and again when you push it back in. It’s most definitely not coming off of there (or back on) unless you intend for it to.
