I’ve got to say I really like the SmartCamera. The video is clear, the night vision works well, and the 180° field of view is really nice. The virtual pan it does while following someone’s motion makes it seem like the camera is really physically tracking them (when “Person Detection” is enabled). The camera integration with Haven (for storing and showing recorded video) is really good. I’ve had no issues with it at all. Upload seems to be happening just fine (I have good WiFi coverage and a fast pipe into/out of the house). Playback is quick with no hiccups. With Haven I can get a notification on my phone when it detects motion, as well as look at past saved clips (2 minutes lone) in the history view.A nice thing is that the thumbnail image in the history view is from the point of detected motion/person, even though the saved video starts about 5 seconds before that. However, sometimes I see that the thumbnail is about half a second too soon – I have a bunch that just show a person’s arm (as they were walking into view), whereas half a second later the whole person would be in the frame.A downside is that the Camera seems completely useless without the monthly Haven subscription. I used it that way for a week before I activated the Haven 1 month trial. There seemed to be nothing I could do outside of looking at the camera live. It might have been nice for there to be at least the most recent detected activity available if Haven wasn’t in use. I plan to let the Haven subscription expire after the free month to again compare the available features without it. For instance, I’m pretty sure the ‘Activity’ tab on the app only appeared after I enabled Haven.I was also very surprised the ecobee.com account portal (non-app) doesn’t include the camera at all. That means the only way to view the camera it is with the phone app.The built-in Alexa is fine, but we really don’t use it. The camera is in the front hall, and it sometimes picked up us talking to the Echo in our kitchen, so we ended up muting it’s Alexa to avoid that .2 minor negatives:(1) the camera gets pretty warm. It pulls about 3.5W continuously while monitoring (during the day; I don’t have the measurement from night vision mode).(2) it makes a loud click when turning on and off the night vision infrared lights. Turning on the lights near the camera makes it turn off the IR LEDs and make the noise. Depending upon where the camera is located, this noise could be annoying.I also had a minor issue setting up the camera. When my phone would switch to the temporary WiFi ssid the camera created, it would detect no Internet access and switch to phone data, causing the setup to timeout. Simply make sure your phone doesn’t do that (turn on airplane mode, then re-enable WiFi, and then setup the camera).

Initial thoughts:The ecobee SmartCamera with voice control was extremely easy to set up. Within minutes of opening the box, I was on the app and able to securely monitor my home remotely. The camera is heavy and well-made and the magnetic mount options are versatile and easy to use. The camera has an excellent field of vision and is easy to control through the app. It is so great to be able to keep an eye on my child in his nursery using the ecobee SmartCamera with voice control and to monitor my home. After using for one week:I still love the Ecobee SmartCamera with voice control and I have really enjoyed using this to monitor my home. The image is very clear and bright. It is easy to see details during daylight or in incandescent lighting. The nighttime vision is excellent and clear. The tracking feature is very appealing. The internal camera moves to follow an object, but the outside of the camera stays in the same location. This helps keep the camera more incognito. My absolute favorite feature is the ability to detect a person. The Ecobee app will alert me right away if there is a person in the field of the camera. As someone who has pets, this is an amazing feature. I love that I know instantly what is triggering the motion alert.Through the ecobee app, I get a notification on my phone when the camera is armed. I also have the ecobee app on my watch, so I receive a notification there as well. When linked to Alexa, I can receive an Alexa notification when there is motion on my camera. It is great to get instant notifications as soon as motion is detected. The monthly subscription unlocks additional services, such as the ability to save videos and to capture photo snapshots of images on the camera.I have really enjoyed using the Ecobee SmartCamera with voice control to monitor my home and keep my family safe.

I bought this to replace my Belkin Wemo cameras that are being discontinued (the server they use) making them worthless pieces of plastic. This camera exceeded my expectations. The 180 degree viewing angle is not overstated. It can see side to side perfectly. The tracking feature is great, the camera will automatically zoom in and track a person keeping them in sight. Alexa works flawlessly and can even play music, the audio quality is great for what it is. The optional subscription is cheaper than Belkin and has 14 days of recording. Autopilot will turn the camera off when you are home, and automatically turn on when you leave (which can be turned off). Mounting was incredibly easy with the included screw and anchor. I have several other cameras that the audio clips and cuts out all the time but this camera’s audio is as clear as day. when you are viewing from the ecobee app, you can maneuver and zoom in and out as well. There is also a feature for when your camera is looking through a window to clear up any glare. I am very happy with the quality of this camera and the price!

I really like my Ecobee cameras. I purchased two of these, one for my garage and one for my backyard. They work well. I especially like that they integrate with Apple Homekit Secure Video. We also have Apple TV’s in our house so when the cameras pick up motion a notification will show up on our TV with a picture of what the camera is seeing. We can press a button on the remote to go live on the camera. Night Vision on the camera is also outstanding. If you aren’t an Apple user and want to use just the Ecobee app then you are going to need to pay a subscription to Ecobee to use many of the features on the camera. So many companies are moving to the subscription model. I don’t like it so I’m glad Ecobee integrates with Homekit Secure video and I can get many of those same features through Homekit.Overall, the cameras work great for me. They stay connected to Homekit, they have great picture quality and great night vision, you can talk through them, they have an alarm on them, and they have been very reliable for me.

This indoor home security camera is a great addition to the ecobee family of products and the ecobee home monitoring/security system. The installation and setup are quick and easy and the included mounting hardware worked perfectly. The day and night images from the camera are incredible as is the ability to pan/zoom. The 180 degree field of view allows you to capture a large area and the motion detection is quick and accurate. The built-in Alexa integration is great and gives you another point of Alexa voice coverage in an area that might otherwise be difficult to have an Alexa device. The operation of the camera withing the ecobee app is simply to use and the auto arming/disarming as part of the ecobee auto-pilot system means that you don’t have to remember to arm/disarm the system and it also means that the camera is OFF when you are home so privacy is not a concern.Bottom line, it’s another great product from ecobee.

We have tried so many different monitors & cameras over the last 6 years and settled on a brand we have been loyal to for a while. When asked to give ecobee a try, I didn’t anticipate I’d want to switch our entire house over and yet here we are. The selling factors for me were: 1. the option to have the camera turn off when family members were detected in the room (no more feeling constantly watched in your own home!) 2. The difference in color and quality of the video and 3. The ability to pan the camera to see more of the room. This camera literally can replace two existing cameras because it can pan from the front door to the back door with just one camera! (This would also have been really nice when our kids were first out of cribs because we “lost” them so many times due to going out of the frame of our cameras. I love that unless you’re looking for it, you don’t even notice it in my decor! Not having to compromise aesthetic for peace of mind is a huge plus for me! For more photos and video of my unboxing and initial impression, follow my ig @goodasitgoetzhome and check out the highlight “ecobee”!The camera was provided to me as part of a collaboration, but the opinions are 100% mine! 🙂

Really like the ease of setup for these cameras. Needed them quickly and got them fast and no problems setting up. Visual is great and was surprised with two-way audio communication which was a nice add!

La cámara esta muy buena, sin embargo me hubiese gustado que coloquen que para poder grabar se necesita un HomePod o Apple TV en la casa sino no se pueden almacenar los videos. La resolución no está mal, es de muy buenos materiales

I have been very happy with my ecobee SmartCamera. I’ve been using the system for about three weeks and it’s been flawless. Installation and configuration could not have been easier or more intuitive. Simply plug in the camera, open the ecobee app on your phone, step through adding the new device and the camera was up and running in a couple of minutes. One of the things I like about ecobee products is they appeal to a wide range of Users. You can keep it very simple or you can integrate the their devices into a larger ecosystem of home automation. I also purchased the door/window sensors with built in motion sensors as part of the ecobee as part of the Home Security Bundle. I also have an ecobee Smart Thermostat with Voice Control. All of these devices integrate though the ecobee App to create a very simple to use home security network for added peace of mind. And the Autopilot feature automatically takes care of turning on/off the security system as well as setting the thermostat to home/away as you come and go from your home. What a simple but effective system.
