This product was a great deal! We got an excellent price on it, and it arrived early. It was well packaged and everything was secure with boxes and boxes of cameras, hard-drive and wiring. Install was super easy, since we were replacing our old system. Took my husband approx 1hr and 30 mins to get all the old cameras down (4) and new cameras (5/8) installed. We were able to use the old wires to pull new wiring through. Setup was also super easy, as we have not run this through our wifi. When we go through that process, I will try to update the review with information regarding setup and app installation.Picture quality is great day and night, but the night vision is fairly limited depending on light. The scope of details for the cameras are bright to dim where there is little to no light, covering an estimated 10’W by 30’D area. In well lit areas the distance is much greater with clear picture for up to 150′ or more. That is the one negative and would be the one area needing improvement, or there may be another system that offers further coverage at night.The 2T hard-drive is big but not bulky. The system we replaced was only 1T and was about 4 in more narrow from front to back.We chose this system because of the ability to hook 8 cameras up. It also has the capabilities to mix and match so we can use wireless cameras if wanted as well. Since we were going from wired to wired, with the exception of one, we chose to keep the wired cameras instead of buying all new wireless. When we get the 3 wireless I will update the review with that info if able.Setting up the system was as easy as following the prompts. Password protected or not, it is up to you. We chose to go with a wireless mouse of our own rather than use the corded mouse that is included, and it works fine like that.Easy to configure cameras and set them up. The one area that we don’t like is viewing options. You can set them up with all 8 on the screen but not just 5, so we have 3 black screens where those are not connected. 1 is displayed larger than the other 7, that are all smaller around 2 sides of the 1 larger. You can also display them 1 at a time that flips from 1 to the next, and if motion occurs it will jump back to the screen and hold there for designated time. There are other options as well if you decide to do the wifi and internet option- you can set alerts to shoot an email and even contact the monitoring app for remote viewing of every alert if necessary. The motion sensitivity can be set to certain areas in a grid or for entire screen and you can have it sensitive enough to alert when a leaf falls 20 yards away during the day or less sensitivity so that it doesn’t trigger further than 5ft away. The whole program is really easy to maneuver and the possibilities are endless with this system.Hopefully this review helps. I definitely recommend this product if you want good quality, excellent picture and an easy install, all for a very competitive price.

This system will not break the bank and still offers a sense of security that will allow you to sleep well at night or not worry while you’re gone. One thing to note: the motion detection will not provide you with video; however it will provide you with snapshots. You can set the system; however, to continuous recording if you choose, and this is what I do while I’m away or asleep. The installation is very simple; however, you will be crawling around in your attic a lot if you want to install it without wires being exposed. That should be no surprise. The instructions are very simple to follow, but the printed booklet is small, so use the online owners manual that can be found on the product page here on amazon. The one thing that I was having issues with is the wired mouse that comes with the unit – it’s just not a good solution unless you plan to use a monitor at a desk. I wanted to use it with my flatscreen tv, which worked just fine, but the wired mouse created a major issue. I suppose this details the learning curve of the software, which isn’t bad at all, but I was a little confused when it came to the events and recordings section of the settings. The events can be set for continuous use and then enabled and the recording can be set for continuous, event, and then none. By default the system comes with the recording set to continuous, so all you have to do is set it to event for each camera so when an event alarm is set, a recording will start, which will save you a lot of space on your hard drive. I really hope this helps in case anyone else out there was scratching their head about the same feature. The only other things during setup that had me wondering is when I setup the networking. There will be a section on screen from the dvr that calls for a varification code when trying to connects your mobile device to the network. I thought it was a verification number that was located within my system’s paperwork; however, it’s just a code that you need to create (like a password).Well, good luck with your new system, if you choose to purchase. Easy to set up great images. I highly recommend I bought 3 packages used them in 3 of my homes and for the price you can’t go wrong. I called tech support for help and they were amazing. They answered right away and were very helpful. A tech support agent by the name of Jesus helped me. I would rate him as ten out of ten. He answered all my questions and was super friendly and helped me wish a small issue I was having. If you’re looking for a good camera system I highly recommend this camera system.

So I was having a hard time on the setup for my laptop. I was getting so frustrated that I called the company for help. I was connected to a Support Tech, named Vania!And let me tell ya, Vania was amazing! She helped me figure the camera settings out! She was kind, patient, and pretty detailed on what to troubleshoot! So I am so happy we figured out on getting my camera to work. I will say this > just skip the manual, because it’s too detailed and complicated. I just asked her to give me a crash course, and she made it soooo simple.Vania! THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Thank you to Jesus from tech support. Only one camera was working on the monitor, but all on the app. He was very patient with me and guided me to all cameras working. My system was also sensitive to a bug flying and activated my alarm. He guided me with that. Thank again. Awesome support.
