I purchased these for purposes and they were fantastic. Range worked great inside our building, but they impressed me with their 1-2 mile rage! I also really like the short antenna as it did not break or get in the way. The clips are great, but often didn’t last due to our constantly moving staff (who would drop them while running or playing physical games). You can hear each other speaking loud and clear, and the ear pieces were great for the louder environements.

As consumers, Customer Service/Support after the sale is our biggest concern. As end-users we want to buy with confidence. Retevis has proven that they believe and stand behind the products that they sell. The radios themselves have been great. The range, the quality of build, the features and the sound is superb. We did have an issue with three (3) of the rechargeable batteries after about a year of use. I reached out to CS. Angela not only sent 3 new replacement batteries; she also sent an extra one for backup. That’s right four (4) new batteries. Long story short. If you are going to invest in walkies talkies, put Retevis on the top of your shopping list. Buy with confidence that Retevis will be there for you.

This is possibly the best purchase I’ve ever made on Amazon. I bought them for skiing. We go to Sugar Bowl and can typically communicate at great distances with high quality. For $15, it won’t break the bank if your kids lose one of them. They are also relatively small for what’s available in the market. No frills, no screen, and also no problems. We went with the corded charger first, and they worked great. Then we bought the charger base, and it was much faster and better. It’s so simple and yet so well designed. We bought the second set, because our friends were jealous and we needed more radios at the cabin. Our friends had a high end Motorola, and eventually agreed this was better at 1/10 of the price. At these prices, I’m sure there are some duds, but we have two sets and they both work without any problems. Battery life seems very impressive. They are constantly left on all night and then they seem to still work the same day. And did I mention they are small. You can clip it to a backpack, but most of our kids put them in a ski jacket pocket.Worked very well for cross country skiing, so I imagine they would be great for hiking.

For a low cost radio, these do the job. I work in a landscape/masonry supply yard which is very dirty, and dusty, and we have gone through radios left and right. Our owner wont buy us new ones, because the ones he did buy technically work, but they are a nightmare, so we pool up our money to buy some that we can actually use, which means we dont have the funds to buy the industrial grade, larger radios that can cover miles, and not yards of coverage distance. We even went with some high end dewalt brand radios, and the dust/mud/rain just eats them up. These things have stood the test of time far better than any others we have tried, and we have even tried other models in the retevis family. They do get dinged up a good bit, because the case is cheap plastic, but our guys clip them to their belts, and drive around on forklifts all day, bumping in to blocks, and sometimes dropping them, and other than a few scratches, they hold up just fine. The clips have broken on a few, but a bit of duct tape fixes it right up.

Retevis RT22 Walkie Talkies Rechargeable Hands Free 2 Way Radios Two-Way Radio 6 pack with 6 slot charger is amazing! It is one of the most useful things we ever bought for our property! There is little to no cellular service, and the power goes out a lot. We are in the mountains with 60 acres that covers several mountain peaks with valleys and is almost completely wooded. They are super easy to use. Just turn it on and it starts at the same channel when it was turned off. There’s a nice feature where you can press the channel up/down buttons together and it locks the radio on that channel! That prevents accidentally switching channels when in your pocket or grabbing it. That has to be done every time you turn on the radio, but it is a great feature! If you have someone unfamiliar with radios, that’s a great way to keep them on the correct channel. They have nice belt clips and the batteries last for days. The sound is crystal clear over our entire property. We can talk to each other just like we are standing next to each other! It doesn’t matter whether there is a forest or hill between us – the reception is amazing! Even driving down a narrow, winding road we still get good reception when the radio is a mile away from the property, hills and trees in the way. The lithium ion batteries are great, because you can keep the radio in the charger whenever it isn’t being used and it won’t overcharge. The radios must be off when in the charger or they could overheat. After being on the property with livestock and crops, we had a lot of concerns about being able to contact each other for emergencies. It was also very inconvenient when away from the house because we wasted a lot of time going back and forth just to talk about necessary things throughout the day. We’ve been using these radios for over 5 months now, and they have given outstanding service without any issues. When people come to visit, we give them a radio so they can stay in touch with us. 5 starts plus for these radios, and they are worth much more than the regular price in time saved and the security of being able to make contact with family members in case of emergencies.

Everything comes well packaged. We’ve been using this brand and only this brand for at least 7 years. Our store uses walkies throughout the store. I really like the charging docks verses using the charging cords. We have four of the 6-pack charging docks in our office currently.

If you are looking for comms for a tech crew or around a job site. These are easy to set up and start using. No complicated formatting. Use them with or without headsets depending on your setting and need.

Used on a demolition site for 60 days, all cement(more rebar than I have ever seen) 9 floors, ZERO PROBLEMS.PRO:1. Light weight2. Easy to use (some of my guys loose their minds trying to work their own cell phones, so I truly mean “easy to use”.3. The specific item I ordered came with a 6 port charging base, having to plug in 6+ charging bases would be a major pain.4. Battery life “ for me” was great. Definitely depends on how heavily you use them, but on a demo site with multiple excavator’s, multiple teams, doing different things at once, and having a crew that thinks having a walkie-talkie means it’s social hour the whole 10 hr work day. On multiple occasions call members forgot to turn in there radios at the end of the day and the battery would last 2 full 10 hour workdays.5. I think this might be the best pro out of all 5, PRICE. Very affordable and major bang for your buck, $130 for six radios and a six port charging base, amazing. There are other big brand companies that charge the same or even more for just one radio and you’re walking around with this brick around your waist or in our case safety vest.Cons:1: I only have one complaint, and in reality it is truly a compliment. These radios are so lightweight, The only trouble I had with them was having my guys remember to turn in their radios at the end of the day, so that they could be charged.
