I have an older set of Midland G-11 two way radios and they still work great. I wanted something that you could wear that was unobtrusive and was comfortable to use for long periods of time. I ordered these and they are really very good performing headsets. The acoustic tube in your ear is so comfortable that I actually forgot that I was wearing it. I was shocked at how good the sound is and it is actually much better than using the speakers. The control works great and allows you to use the PTT button in a hand held situation or wear it on your collar.Plugging in the headsets into the G-11 makes adjusting the volume /on/off knob hard to turn but that situation is workable. I am a big tall guy and the control/microphone can be ran down your sleeve and clipped to your cuff. My dress shirts are 36 inch long sleeves and cuffs (or longer in some shirts) and the wire is too short to work comfortably going down my sleeve. I am going to have to splice the wires if I want to use them in that mode. The VOX works but whichever person pushes the button and releases it has control of the VOX until the other radio has its button pushed. I prefer just using the PTT mode and they work fine. I saw some complaints about plastic collar clips but mine are made of sturdy metal and work just great.Overall I can only highly recommend these to you. The voice transmission is loud and clear while also being discrete. You can even hear whispered messages clearly which was impossible when using the two way radio speakers. You can also use the volume controls set at a much lower level than ever before. They are very comfortable and for the price they are a great purchase. I still gave them 5 stars even though the wires are short for me as the other benefits are outstanding.

These are AMAZING. My fiancee and I bought these to use at weddings we work together and bought some additional Walkie Talkies. We originally bought these to use at wedding where there was no cell service but came to realize that we intend to use this on EVERY wedding we work from here on out!Pros:- They clip to the inside of your shirt no problem- The microphone can pick up your voice even if you aren’t directly talking into it- The volume levels rock, even with the music blaring during the reception we could hear each other- Comfortable and does not hurt your ear when you’re wearing it for 14 hours in a day- Cords are long and don’t pull when you move around- Looks incredibly professional and we had a lot of compliments on itCons.- I would like to be able to add a different ear piece so it stays in the ear canal a bit better, my fiancee had no problems but mine kept falling out, although the coil kept it from falling out completelyOverall, I highly recommend this product! Midland – GXT1000VP4, 50 Channel GMRS Two-Way Radio – Up to 36 Mile Range Walkie Talkie, 142 Privacy Codes, Waterproof, NOAA Weather Scan + Alert (Pair Pack) (Black/Silver)

Worked great and was easy to use. Our security team comprised of volunteers needing something to use to make communication easier while not disrupting events. This plugged right in and worked exactly as advertised!

I am quite pleased how comfortable the earpiece is. For me, it does not block normal conversation with others (that was a big concern) without feeling like I have cotton in my ear. only “disappointment” would be the length of the microphone cable, was hoping it would reach down to the end of my sleeve, instead I need to wear it on my shirt or lapel. otherwise, good product, works as advertised. Needed to edit this review. User error ! This is a 1 wire acoustic tube. Not a 2 wire, therefore wasn’t designed to reach down the sleeve. Apologies!

My wife are now really concerned that ATT&T can loose towers across the US. How do you stay in touch. The ear pierce fits great, comfortable and very flexible in how you wear it. I just whished all my friends had the same ability to communicate with us when this great country falls because we didn’t stand for what is right! The next step is in our hands!!!!

Ok, that title must sound weird. But this headset, for some ungodly reason, hates the left ear. I read it in a previous review as well. I use this for my job working at a private school as the student activities coordinator. (Yeah, my job rocks, I know.)It was either this headset, or one of the many headsets that have a boom microphone in front of my mouth that makes me look like a member of the Backstreet Boys. Considering I work with middle schoolers, this is clearly not an option if I want to retain any sense of credibility.I bought this pair of headsets and the sound quality is awesome, I can hear other teaches and administrative staff communicate with me clear as day. The microphone gets clipped not up my sleeve but instead just below my neck on the collar of my shirt. The mic is powerful enough to pick up my voice without me having to bend my head down to speak into it. AWESOME.The only downside is this headset sucks in my left ear. It just won’t stay in. Do I have a weird shaped left ear? I’m open to the possibility. But for some reason it will only stay put in my right. That is my only concern and it truly is low on the list of things I would deem important. Good quality headset and a steal at this price.Get it, you’ll be happy in your right ear.

My wife and I photograph High School and College Sports. We have been looking for something for on-field communication and have tried wireless bluetooth headsets from several makers including Bose, and Jawbone. We picked them for the so called “noise cancelling ability” and because we have used Jawbone in the past and they worked fairly well for normal communications. We thought the Jawbones, since they were a high quality and expensive product would do the job. We were surprised when we were shooting our first football game that every time the crowd roared we could not hear each other at all. So we thought we would try these Midland LXT600VP3 36-Channel GMRS with 30-Mile Range, NOAA Weather Alert, Rechargeable Batteries and Charger out with the Midland AVPH3 Transparent Security Headsets with PTT/VOX – Pair . We have shot 2 football games this year and we are thrilled. While they are not noise cancelling at all, the ability to speak by PTT eliminates the blare in our ears from an “always on” bluetooth headset. The quality of these radios and the headsets is very good. Sure, they may not be a Motorola like the PoPo uses, but they are very well made and feel substantial to me and don’t cost $400. We love the NOAA weather radio just for fun especially if there are storms moving through while we are on the field. We love the NOAA Weather Alert, and can take cover before most other folks know that danger is approaching.

After buying the Midland GXT650 radio pair and using the boom mic I was unhappy with it because the mic is not very sensitive. You pretty much have to put the mic in your mouth in order for the other people to hear you. I ordered these thinking they would work well and I was correct. It is very versatile and attaches to your shirt very securely. However I noticed a lot of people complaining that they do not reach to their wrist and that is because they are not made to, they are designed to clip on your collar or button. I use the PTT function instead of VOX due to the fact that VOX activates when you talk, therefor when you are talking to someone your radio will activate and everyone else will hear what you are saying, so I prefer the PTT function instead. You can hear every word very well and you don’t have to put the mic right up to your mouth either which is nice, they also are discrete and very professional looking. However, I have noticed after wearing them for a long period of time they start to hurt your ear and make it sore. I usually take it just out of my ear and turn it up a notch and I can still hear it very well. Overall I am very satisfied with this product. The reason the price is high is because you are paying for two of them.
