Altec Lansing Mini H2O – Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, IP67 Certified & Floats in Water, Compact & Portable Speaker for Hiking, Camping, Pool, and Beach

I’ve had this little speaker for over a year now and it’s still going strong. It is amazing! I use it at my hot tub. It lasts at least a week (use it maybe 3x a week for several hours at a time) before needing a charge. When it is about to die the blue light starts flashing and it beeps regularly. I can keep my phone in the house (maybe 10 ft away thru cement walls?) and it stays connected and I can even use it for phone calls (sim to speaker phone) I like that I can move the radio to random spots as I need it. Volume is great (put the volume up to a good level on your phone then you can adjust within a margin on the speaker with the arrow buttons). Speaker is loud enough and sound is good for me to hear over the jets but not blasting the neighbors (but I probably could make it do that to a point if I wanted). If you are looking for ‘awesome stereo sound’ then maybe it’s not for you (be reasonable – the thing is tiny). But I think it’s good and I listen to music and books while in the tub and several friends have been surprised at how good it sounds especially considering the size. (sounds good with books read by male or female voice – the ‘tone’ range is equal)My favorite story tho I want to share….. 2 days ago I wasn’t paying attention when I put the cover on my tub and I knocked the radio into the water. I found it there floating in the water over 24 hrs later. I was devastated but had to try it…. This little radio started right up and only had a few minutes of ‘tingy’ sound then it returned to normal. I am stunned. the charging port is covered by a rubber cover that you have to press to make sure it’s sealed (super easy to do). I’m sure because I had sealed this cover, the radio survived hot water dunking for over 24 hrs.I’m not sure this radio would work for something like a backyard party or be good for yard work when you are walking around and don’t have the radio right next to you at all times. But. If you want it at your bedside, or in the shower/bathtub, or at a pool/hot tub…..this radio would be perfect. SUPER waterproof. Totally worth the price. Easy to align to your phone. No issues at all with wifi. long battery. I love this speaker!!!!

This thing is smaller than it appears in the photos. Upon unboxing it, I was not expecting a lot. It paired easily with my phone and I was immediately able to stream some music to it. The sound quality is pleasant – neutral sounding and clean. Bass response is not great, but I didn’t expect it to rattle the windows – it is very small. Altec Lansing was, at one time, THE standard for high quality sound reproduction. They dominated cinema sound well into the 1970s and original Altec Lansing equipment brings BIG money on the collector’s market. This product doesn’t shame the name it bears, but don’t expect bone-shaking, ear breaking sound. It’s just not big enough for that. I bought this for my wife, who simply wanted something she could take to the beach.She likes to listen to audio books and sometimes music, and this is perfect for that. She can clip it to her beach chair (it even comes with a clip for this) and clearly hear what she wants to hear, without disturbing everyone around her. If you want a good description of the sound quality, think good laptop speakers – WAY better quality than you’ll get from your phone. It’s a great choice for close listening (less than 15 feet or so) and the battery life seems sufficient. For the size, this little speaker does a great job. I’d buy it again.

If I could give the product 6 stars out of 5, I would. That’s not to say that it’s perfect, but the speaker has far exceeded my expectations. All I wanted was some plug-in, bluetooth speakers that I could use in the bedroom to help wake me up in the morning and to allow me to hear streaming videos over the sound of the fan at night. I hadn’t anticipated getting speakers that are portable, and certainly didn’t envision speakers so small or so inexpensive. The sound quality is not as good as one would expect from speakers of “normal” size, but it’s quite impressive for a speaker that is so small. (When I am watching a video in bed, I put the speaker on my chest, speaker-side down. This muffles the high tones more than the low and mid tones, so the sound quality is better to my ears, and I can literally feel the bass.) The portability has come in quite handy – I use the speaker as a shower radio and when I’m cooking in the kitchen. A great bonus is that I can easily take it with my on my bike. When I’m in traffic, it’s hard to hear GPS directions from my phone’s speaker, but I can hear them clearly when I use the portable speaker (and playing heavy metal on the speaker is more effective than a bike bell for alerting people to my presence). I only have 2 complaints about the speaker. (1) The carabiner that comes with the speaker is garbage. The first time I used it to affix the speaker to my bike, the spring that holds the carabiner closed broke. I used it a second time anyway, and when I hit a pothole the speaker fell off of my bike and onto the pavement. Fortunately a car didn’t run over it and I didn’t get hit when trying to retrieve it. (And it did survive the drop, albeit with a couple of scratches.) They should either provide a better carabiner or not provide one at all – what they provide is worse than nothing. (2) When the battery gets low, the speaker plays a couple of warning tones every once in a while. It’s quite annoying when the alert starts chirping in the middle of the night.

Small but loud. Great for hiking.

I got this for camp. I love how small it is. So easy to carry around. It plays very loud. The sound is crisp and not static at all.
