I used this wire to make up some 10 and 12 ft. speaker wire pairs for my stereo setup. I had some of those 16 gauge speaker wires that you get at the big box stores but replaced my old speakers with higher end ones. I decided I should upgrade the speaker wires. I am not an audiophile and my setup is not in an acoustically clean room so I could not see the benefit of paying a fortune for speaker wires. This wire is certainly high quality and more cost effective than many of the other options available. I like that it is oxygen free copper instead of CCA. I ended up with great speaker wire at a fraction of the cost of buying premade wire pairs.

The Amazon Basics 14-Gauge Audio Speaker Wire Cable was just the ticket for installation of the 5.1 surround speakers system I was installing in our new home. I left my old speaker setup (It may have been old but it was awesome!) for the new owners to plug in their components. The room I was installing the speakers in was a modest size and I was pretty sure that 100 feet of speaker wire would be sufficient. As it turned out, I used every last inch. The installation went without a hitch and when I powered on the system to test the speakers, everything worked! That doesn’t always happen. 14-gauge wire may have been overkill for the modest system I put together but it’s better to have more than less when it comes to this type of installation. Highly recommended.Pros:- A good quality product.- Low price.- 100 foot length.- 14 gauge should do for most speaker systems.Cons:- I have no complaints.

There is something about this wire that makes me buy it again and again, and makes me feel like it’s a great value! it’s pure copper strands and it feels, looks solid and as good as anything I ever bought for the sound transmissionThe cover is thick, but the wire is still flexible. Looks professional and the white looks better than the old school copper look. Getting the protective sleeve off is a bit of challenge but for me it’s worth it. Have a utility knife, wire strippers and if you have weaker hands, a pair of pliers or something to grip it with to remove from covering wires. It’s worth the effort to me as the results feel solidI use this with my higher end vintage M&K, Sansui, Pioneer, Timeframe, and other amps, speakers and to my ears, it delivers simple, clean sound at a great price. Don’t buy the hype, buy good wire and call it a day. This 14 gauge even works well with clip posts like on my Sansui 9090DB. 👌Only thing I would do different, buy the 200ft if you are hooking up Atmos or have multiple equipment. This is my third 100ft in as many months, Lol

The wire was thicker than what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly suprised how well they pulled through walls. It even pulled better than my CAT-6 wires.I have not hooked them up to the speakers and Surround Sound amp yet but the quality seems great.

My setup- Wiim mini streamer to 1970’s Marantz Receiver, Schiit DAC to two Fisher speakers. I had some trouble with dropouts in my speakers. I first thought it was the Wiim or network, then maybe the Marantz or the Fisher speakers. I tried everything and still had problems. My last resort was to replace my speaker wire. This had good reviews and the cost wasn’t too high. I got it set up last night and have had no dropouts since. I was using 14 AWG CCA. I decided to try this Amazon 12 AWG OFC. This fixed my connectivity problems and my music sounds better and cleaner. I read a lot of reviews saying that the cord was hard to open but I did not experience these issues. I used a sharp knife for the outer white layer and a wire stripping tool for the inner wires. It was very easy to do. It is not quite as flexible as I would like but understand that it is thicker than 14 AWG and works for my setup. I think this is a great product and would recommend it to someone who wants to upgrade their system for a great price.

I also like that this is white so it blends in with the baseboard and I don’t have to run thru the wall again. The sound quality of my speakers has improved tremendously. It’s not cheap but it is well worth it.

I was not shorted at all- 100 feet. Wire is extremely substantial, and the insulation around the two wires is sturdy. I was running across an attic and I simply pulled hard from the speaker end with no fear.
