These headphones are intended for drummers. They reduce the acoustical sound level in the room (the drums) from reaching your ears, while providing stereo audio via the attached TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) audio cable… so the drummer can better hear the music they are playing along with.So you can use these to simply protect your hearing from loud sounds, or use them as sound isolating headphones for listening to music… or both!Don’t be confused, these are not active noise canceling headphones. There is no powered electronics built in. They are just analog headphones, but ones where the ear cup design blocks a great deal of sound from outside the phones. So in a sense they do reduce “noise” from around you, but do not actively cancel the sound with tiny microphones and smart electronics.I would say these are “industry standard”. The build quality seems tough, and they do a great job serving their purpose. I do however wish the cable was detachable, but sadly it is not. If you just want to play drums, you have to deal with navigating the cable hanging down from the right phone. All and all a well made professional product at an affordable price.

Worth it for Drumming! The sound quality is decent and the noise isolation is great. They are a bit tight but that is required to cut out the outside noise. I bought a 20ft headphone extension cable as well so I can run it a long distance to whatever output I need.

Just got these today and they work great on my acoustic set with my Yamaha EAD10 system! I used to have the volume all the way up and blasted my eardrums just to hear the effects and the music playback. With these I had the volume at about 25% and could hear everything great. I was using the over ear Sony Professional MDR-7506s, but the noise canceling design works way better to keep the acoustic drums from overpowering the sound. Would totally recommend.

I’ve been playing drums for 40 years and have tried many headphones throughout that time. I’ve never experienced this level of sound control ever. While playing drums, i am able to clearly hear both the music playing in the headphones and the live drums. The balance is almost perfect and I’m able to hear both clearly. I had tried a bunch of other more expensive brands, nothing compared. Now for the sound quality overall, not bad not great. But for my use, playing along to music from a cellphone, I’m basically using it for a time keeper and rhythm. The precision of the music is really not my priority, but I’m satisfied with what I’m getting. Overall this is an amazing purchase for me and I’d highly recommend these headphones for my use. Enjoy these.ISo it’s been a couple of weeks and the experience is absolutely excellent. Love these headphones.

I tried several drum headphones and noise reduction headphones.I think this is a bit pricy but since no company making better product, I gotta give 5 stars.Sounds ok. Nothing fancy but nothing wrong.Other companies like Alesia for example is much cheap made. Sounds worse, worse noise reduction. So yea considering longevity and all that,I’ll recommend this.

Great isolation headphones. Designed by a drum company so they work as intended- enough isolation to allow hearing program material over loud environmental sounds such as drum. Fit VERY snug, won’t come off while being physical such as playing drums. These are snug to a point of being uncomfortable long term but they work as intended- studio isolation headphones. Highly recommend- buying another set or two.

I’ve been playing drums for 20 years. Never really found a good solution to listen to tunes and play along to what I’m hearing. These cancel about 75% of the acoustic drum noise and have a plug that will go to your phone or receiver. I feel like my drumming is already improved. My only gripe is the cord should be about 5 feet longer. I put the cord behind me, and my phone to my left. The cord keeps getting in my way. Easily fixed with a longer cord extension. Great headphones for musicians.

The fit isn’t too clampy on my head and they sure do cancel noise. I put them on and turned on music at a reasonable volume and couldn’t hear anything or anyone outside the headphones. They sound quality is pretty decent too.

I’m a drummer and hearing the music over the drums has always been a mother to deal with, various earphones and ear buds and the like just couldn’t cut it, but these Vic Firth headsets are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I can play in a whole new light being able to hear the music so clearly.

Sure, there are better sounding phones for a lot more money. These work great. You need to have at least one of these in your studio.
