I used the XM4 for over two years and loved it. In comparison the XM5 is better in every way. Smaller, more ergonomic, somewhat better sound (XM4 sounded amazing).I left the XM4s in an airplane and was bummed.XM5 and Tidal HiRes music is an unbeatable combination. Incredible how much functionality is packed in such a compact product. Sony has done an amazing job improving a product that was already best in class.The spatial effect or sound stage is unbelievable. The low end is clean and the vocals are very neutral and somewhat austere. If there is anything remotely negative about this product is the fit of the spongy/foam. I tried a couple of different sizes and finally found one that fit comfortably.Overall, I am very happy about this upgrade, and recommend. Perhaps, if you are patient and wait for a sale, it won’t hurt your wallet as much. At >$270 they are definitely not cheap. You have to try this product to really understand how good it is.

Long battery life/quick charge, Doesn’t not fall out your ear while working all day or jogging/running. I can be on the phone with a loud environment and the person I’m speaking to will only hear my voice. Not to mention the sound quality is amazing for its size. Worth the purchase.

These things sound great, better than my apple gen 2 pros. Noise cancellation is excellent and they fit perfectly in my ears.

I did my research on ear buds form numerous electronic sites and personal calls to retailers. After about three months I settled on the updated 2023 Sony WF-1000XM5 buds for my son’s Christmas. The only thing I can complain about is I would like more bass, not “cow bell”, if your old enough you will get it.THE USAGE, FEATURES/CONTROLS, ARE A LITTLE HARD TO GET USED TO. YOU MUST DOWN LOAD THE OWNERS MANUAL. NO ONE MAKES/PACKAGES THEM ANY MORE???!!!I even left them on top of the mailbox, don’t go there, and they still worked AFTER A WHOLD DAY OF RAIN. No rice baths. I thought they were toast, but not one issue since three weeks ago. And, I use them a lot!!! Bowers & Wilkins, JBL, Skull Candy, Apple Air Pods/horrible sound, and Samsung are commendable, but these are the best and that is what most other people say.These are the ones you need to buy. As a musician for 48 years and singer for 58, I know sound and how to write REAL reviews, not one liners that tell you nothing specific/useful!!

M3から乗り換えたけどケース小さくて軽いしノイズキャンセリングもすごく良くなった。それと純正イヤーピースに耳垢ガードあるの嬉しい。悪いところはイヤーピースが自分の爪で削れてしまうくらい耐久性が低いのと、本体がツルツルしてて持ちにくい。

My old pair of Sony’s WF-1000XM4 needed to be replaced due to a known issue with a battery.I’ve decided to give Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 3 a go and they were a disaster. Could never fit my ears correctly, the noise cancelling seal was never good enough. They kept randomly disconnecting and I could hear noticeable sound quality drops every now and then.I have returned TW3’s and bought Sony’s WF-1000XM5.They are noticeably smaller and lighter than their predecessor. Both the case and earbuds. Sound quality is amazing, noice cancelling works great. Fitting them in the ears is not a problem, it’s very straight forward, you don’t even have to think about it. Also, they sit in the ears very well.No issues so far. I am hoping they will not have a problem with battery, same as WF-1000XM4’s. Sony claim this problem has been resolved – we shall see. I decided to buy an additional 3 year insurance for these earbuds, just for the peace of mind. After all, they are a really expensive pair of earbuds. Wish I had done that with the old pair of XM4’s.For those of you considering an upgrade from WF-1000XM4 – I doubt it’s worth it; as long as your earbuds don’t have an issue with battery and you are happy with their size – there’s no real reason for an upgrade. Sound and noice cancelling are both at a similar excellent level.I wouldn’t consider an upgrade myself, should my old pair still work as expected.

After my Sony WF-1000 XM4s gave up the ghost, I was in a bit of a bind. Kudos to Amazon for a smooth refund process – they really made it hassle-free. I decided to switch it up and went for the AirPods Pro 2. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great, especially in terms of sound. But something was missing. That’s when I realized it was Sony’s signature sound quality and their top-notch noise-canceling feature I was longing for.So, I took the plunge and got myself the Sony WF-1000 XM5. And let me tell you, it was like coming home. The sound quality is just as rich and immersive as I remembered, maybe even a bit better. The noise-canceling? Simply outstanding. It’s like my own personal bubble of sound. The customization options are a big plus too, letting me tweak the settings just the way I like.Sure, they might be a bit on the pricey side, but for that kind of audio experience, I’d say it’s worth every penny. The comfort is top-notch, and the battery life hasn’t let me down yet. If you’re a fan of Sony’s sound and want noise-canceling that actually does its job, the WF-1000 XM5 is a no-brainer.

LDAC接続、AmazonMusicHDで色々聴いてみた感想です。音質はXM3とXM4の良いとこ取りと言った感じで、どの曲も気持ちよく聴けるレベルに仕上がっていると思います。 サカナクションのような打ち込み音源の曲とは特に相性が良く、ワイヤレスイヤホンとは思えない迫力で音楽を楽しめます。悪かった点という程でも無いですが何個か思ったのは、XM5は中低音をガンガン鳴らしてくれるので聴く曲によっては高音域がちょっと押され気味な点、基本的にどの曲もSONYらしいダイナミックな音になるので繊細な音源が好みの人にはあまり向かないかも？といった点ですかね。とはいえSONYの音に慣れてる人にはなんの不満もなく使えるレベルだと思いますし、エージングとイコライザー次第で更に進化する余地もあるので今後の期待も込めて☆5にさせていただきました👍🏻
