I am extremely pleased with the 3 Pack XE75 Pro I purchased. Note that the XE75 (non-Pro) has qty 3 1.0 gigabit ethernet ports, whereas the XE75 Pro has qty 2 1.0 gigabit ethernet ports and qty 1 2.5 gigabit ethernet port. That’s the only difference between them. So if you aren’t purchasing a 1.0+ gigabit ethernet port, you might opt for the non-Pro model. In my case, there was a sale on Amazon and the Pro 3 pack was the same price as a non-Pro 3 pack.I was using a Netgear Orbi RBK53 unit with 3 satellites, and while the performance was OK, I wanted to future proof my home with a more powerful wifi 6E router. I have a 1,820 sqft 2 story home which was built in 1991 before moving to mesh wifi a single router was highly inept at reaching upstairs, where my speeds would drop off close to being completely unfunctional. While the house is not that big, my lot size with front and back yard included is 9,000+ sqft. For that reason, I didn’t think of the 3 pack rated for 7,200 sqft in the marketing specs as overkill because I wanted wall-to-wall coverage from the far reaches of the front yard to the far reaches of the back yard. I got it and then some with this system.Setup was unbelievably straightforward. You download the Deco app (more on that in a minute) first. Then you unplug your existing router if you have one and replace it with any of the three units. The fact that it can be any of the three units was somewhat novel to me, because the Netgear Orbi approach is different in that Orbi specifically designated one device as the router (I had the RBR50 router) and the other devices as satellites (RBS50 satellites is what I had). With Deco XE75 or XE75 Pro, each of the devices is a super capable wifi 6E router in and of itself, each capable of covering 2,900 sqft of home space with up to 200 devices connected. These ports are auto-sensing, in that you can plug the LAN ethernet cable from your modem into any of the three ports and the devices will detect the connection and designate that device as the router. After the router is up, the app instructs you to simply plug in the other two routers and they will be detected and added as satellites, nodes, etc. (each manufacturer uses different language) and added to the network. It worked just as instructed, and I was up and running within 8-10 minutes. After setting up the devices, I simply unplugged the two satellites and moved each to the designated spot I had decided on in my home. Once the devices power back up in their new location they are immediately added back.I pay for a plan with Xfinity for up to 400 Mbps download and up to 100 Mbps upload. When I plug ethernet directly into the router I typically get 475-480 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload (I don’t know why they screw me on the upload speed when the web portal says I should get up to 100 Mbps upload, but that’s neither here nor there). After playing with the satellite position a tad, I was able to get 475-485 on wifi over nearly every single square inch of my property, Even if I stand in the far corner of my yard behind a large tree I am still getting 380 Mbps.Lastly, I’ll mention that the app is fantastic and highly capable for novice and more advance networking setup. You can name all the routers, name all client devices, set up push alerts when designated devices join and leave the network, set up a routine router reboot schedule, and so much more. And most of all to me what I like is that you can access all of these settings while away from the home. For some reason, with the Orbi app, Netgear required you to be home and on the home wifi to access these settings. This was my first TP-Link product purchase, and I am extremely impressed. Highly recommended.

I purchased my TP Link in September 2022, following an upgrade to my internet service to 1.2Gbs. My house is long and narrow, and my new internet service was set up on the ground floor in the very back of the house. Not optimal for WiFi coverage, to say the least. I tried various solutions like extenders, more powerful WiFi, etc. Then I came across the concept of a mesh network and dedicated back-haul, and I knew that was the solution I was looking for. But *which* one? Enter TPLink, with a competitively priced solution that included 6e dedicated backhaul and a 2.5Gbs ethernet port. So I pulled the trigger and bought the two-node TPLink Deco.I worked out the placement of the two units – one next to my modem and the other upstairs in a hallway that gave me good coverage to the rooms and line-of-sight to the downstairs Deco unit. Not having any 6e devices, I configured the dedicated backhaul option over 6e since my house is not conducive to running cable (remember, long and narrow…). It took a little fiddling around in the app to set everything up, but once configured the two units connected and everything looked Ok.The good:So far (almost a year in service) no reliability issues and very stable internet connections when roaming about the house. Sometimes the app shows a device attached to what I would consider the “wrong” access point, but I don’t pay much attention. I have a “smart tv” with streaming over the 5ghz channel and have had zero issues with streaming Sling, Prime or Samsung TV. Often while my significant other is also streaming a YouTube so there’s bandwidth to spare even on the 5ghz channel. In summary, it is reliable and fast. The BadThe app is very basic and you don’t have any view into the underlying configuration or how the devices are communicating. You just have to trust the Deco is connected over 6e because it doesn’t really say (at least not that I have found…). There are some configuration options, but they seem hidden and not well explained. Most likely you won’t need them, but it is good to know how to change your DNS for example, if necessary. Also, add-on costs like firewall and monitoring are not included in the price so plan on a few $ per month for the firewall and other security options. In summary, the app is not that great.PerformanceMy peak performance, as measured over 5ghz Wifi is 1385Mbps connected to the base unit near my modem. (see attached screenshot) Across the mesh I get 800+Mbps in the far reaches of my farthest room. (880Mbps in the screenshot) Still spectacular compared to my old setup where I would struggle to even get a signal!! More than enough bandwidth to stream even to the far reaches of my long, narrow house.SummaryDeco accomplished my goal of reliable, high-speed coverage of my long and narrow house. Bonus that it has the 2.5Gbps ethernet port so I can get peak performance to my modem and use all of that gig internet speed. Reliability has been rock solid. The only drawback is the lack of configuration options and add-on services for which you must subscribe.

I bought this mesh router system to replace an Asus RT-AX88U router, which I bought to replace an aging Orbi mesh system. The Asus router did not work for me and I had to return it, replacing it with the TP-Link Deco AXE5400.I’d had some experience with TP-Link products, and while they were ok, I wasn’t sure if this mesh system would be a good replacement for my older Orbi mesh system. Turns out it was a great replacement.Pros:* Mesh system works very well. I live in an older building, with thick walls and other wireless routers struggled to reach all ends of my apartment. The TP-Link Deco has had no problems, and I get great connectivity all over my apartment.* Useful and well-designed app. The app you use to configure the Deco has a clear UI and doesn’t require a great deal of networking knowledge to use. It even includes a troubleshooting tool that checks for network congestion and automatically switches channels for you. There is also an Advanced settings tab for those that want to fiddle with particular settings such as static routes.* 2.5G WAN/LAN port. I use this port to route ethernet to my home’s wired network and it’s made a huge difference in the bandwidth available to my wired devices.* Very fast overall. The 2.5G ports and newer WiFi standard make the whole system fast (wireless and wired) and allow me to take full advantage of my internet connection’s bandwidth.Cons:* The management app is lacking a speed test. While the app is great, there is one feature that I would have liked to see: an internet speed test. Specifically, I would like to have seen a tool to test the speed of my connection at the router itself. However, this is a quibble, and not a big deal.

This is my first venture into a mesh network and I purchased this because the house I just moved into wasn’t hardwired with ethernet. The builder only ran ethernet into the master closet and the kitchen. I was skeptical about the speeds this could push, but using the satellite node over a wireless 6G backhaul connecting to my desktop over Wi-Fi I’m able to hit speeds up to 1260mbps max, on ethernet I get a really stable ping but my speed is limited to 940mbps on the built in ethernet port. I didn’t think it was possible for the mesh network to provide speeds and consistency as good as ethernet. I don’t notice any difference in connection reliability or consistency. I played a lot of Rocket League on this setup and that game is very ping sensitive, and I never had any issues.Between the two nodes is a bathroom and a laundry room. There are a total of 4 walls, a washer/dryer and lots of clothing, and about 25ft between the two nodes on my house. My ISP limits uploads to 40mbps so I can’t speak on the max uploads. I’m able to get good speeds with just two mesh nodes upstairs providing coverage for my entire house. Downstairs our older iPhones get about 400-600mbps, my ’21 MacBook Pro gets about 850/40.I love how easy the Deco app is to use. I have named all my devices, set them to use whichever band they need. I started using the IoT network for our baby monitor and all of our smart switches and lights, and it provides security I didn’t previously have.Overall, I think this is the best value for a Wi-Fi router that you can ask for. It’s small and easy to setup, it has ridiculously good range compared to the router I used to have that multiple antennas on it.

I received our TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro today. My network configuration is customized for our use, with port forwarding, a CG-NAT ISP provider, and some other fun stuff. I wasn’t sure if the Deco XE75 would work for our use, but I dug in to get it configured.First off: We purchased this Deco XE75 Pro to replace our not-very-old Netgear Orbi RBK850. The RBK850 only lasted a few years – Netgear’s quality has declined a LOT, and they have permanently lost me as a customer. Now, on to the Deco XE75 Setup: I control a lot of the configuration on my home network for various functional needs. I have always done my configuration through direct connections to my PC using the router’s web pages. This is NOT an option on the Deco XE75 – Their router webpages are informational only, with almost no configurable entries. All router/WiFi configuration needs to be done through their Android/Apple Deco phone application (Gee … What do you do if you don’t have a cell phone?!?!). The mobile app is a bit quirky, and doesn’t always reflect the actual state of the router. I had to enter the Guest Network SSID about 4 times before it “stuck” in the app, even though there were devices connected to it. I subtracted one star on the Mobile App rating for this. The Deco app did connect easily to the first router. Their app configuration walk-through is well-thought out, pretty straight forward, and will meet the needs of most casual users. I’m not a casual user, though …When it came down to getting my port forwarding working, I was unable to get things working properly. The TP-Link Tech Support Rep I worked with – Mark Dalmacio – was very knowledgeable (and even more patient!) as we worked through my various configuration issues to get things working again. So far, the Deco XE75 Pro is working great now that I have everything configured properly!Kudos to Mark and to TP-Link on helping me through my configuration issues and getting my new network up and running!

I’ve tried several other systems, including the top-of-the-line NightHawk system. Our house is 3 stories, 5500 sq.ft. We also have VERY high-speed network connectivity, but we also have heavy bandwidth usage- kids with TVs and home-school computers (lots of Zoom meetings), my home office, my wife’s office as well.Depending on location in the house, as well as what others were doing, the previous systems had lag issues, interruptions, etc., basically because the overall network wasn’t big enough, strong enough to cover the entire house. It was time to move to a mesh network. We ordered this system, swallowed hard over the price (after repeatedly paying for systems that failed to deliver) and set it up. Master is on the main floor, one slave on the lower level (East end of the house) and the other on the third floor, West end.Coverage is OUTSTANDING. The 2GHz setting (per instructions) simply didn’t cut it, had same issues… Plugged into 6GHz network, and now no more lagging, no more issues whatsoever.Remote app for control is also extremely helpful. Main network supports primary electronics, kids’ TVs, Ipads, etc., are on the “guest” network, which I can switch on or off from my phone, when it’s bed-time. Makes it extremely easy to “convince” my kids it’s time to hit the sack! App also allows for quick diagnosis, review status, etc., from my phone whenever needed.Overall, the system is simply outstanding. The nearly $500 I spent for this was worth every penny, and I no longer have to worry about lag issues on a meeting with a client. The remote control of the guest network means I have sufficient leverage over my kids without having to get out of bed. It just runs smoothly, with no drama, and everyone is quite happy with the results.

The two pack of Deco XE75 Pro mesh routers work fantastic in our 4000 sq. ft. 2 story house. We even get a good signal and speed around our 1/2 acre property. Setup was exceptionally easy using TP Links smartphone app (less than 15 minutes). I recommend first downloading the app to your smart phone using WIFI because it took forever using T-Mobile’s 4G cellular network.I also recommend getting the XE75 PRO for a little more money over the standard XE75 because the PRO has a faster 2.5 Gbps WAN port (what you connect to your modem). Comcast keeps bumping up our internet speed, which is currently 1 Gbsp. So we are future proof with the XE75 Pro with up to 2.5 Gbps when it happens.

I purchased this for our new house, as there are three levels and a large deck so I wanted to be able to get WiFi everywhere. Setup was easy, the app is nice to use, and all in all I am extremely happy with the product. The caveat – there is a setting that limits max bandwidth to 50mbps/s. If you’re paying for more than that (which I assume everyone does that is purchasing a system like this) you need to go in there and raise that limit or you’re going to think something is wrong. I admit, it took me far too long to figure this out and was about to return it.

I have a two story 2600 foot home with 3 boys who love to game on the PS5. We have lots of devices that get online such as cameras, a vacuum and fridge etc. I’ve tried extenders that end up dropping and at some point, gave up. I recently heard from co-workers about the mesh system and started with Linksys, which I returned. Our iPhones and iPads weren’t working and then it would drop signal and I would have to reset it all the time. My coworker and I both exchange that system and got this one. I can’t tell you how refreshing this experience has been. My kids are able to play on their PlayStation without lag or dropping signal like they used to. All of our devices don’t have problems with getting online or dropping signal. I’ve had it for about a month now and have no issues. There are some cool features on the system, such as letting you automatically reset the mesh system automatically when you choose. Just as a precaution, I reset mine once a week although I’m not sure I even need to do that. We have 1k service through Cox and the speeds measure close.

I’m really pleased with the App. It allows me to easily look at my network and connected devices as well as giving me the ability to optimize the band channel settings. I can easily determine which mesh device has which devices attached.I also like the ability to “assign” a device to a specific mesh unit and WIFI band. It seemed silly not to set the 2.4Ghz devices to only use 2.4Ghz band.Another handy option is the ability to configure the LED lights to turn on and off on a schedule if you need to place the mesh units in a place where the LED light might not be wanted.I also made use of the IOT feature to get get my network connected switches working again. No matter what I did, I could not get them to forget the old network name. So I configured the IOT network name to be what the switches were originally named and the reconnected within seconds. Its just something with those switches and I really glad the DECO App has the IOT feature. The setup process was not too difficult. I used the main mesh device and connected it to my internet modem in my office. The second mesh device I setup on the other side of the house and since I have ethernet cabling in all the main rooms, I connected the 2nd mesh device using an ethernet cable through my wiring closet. All in all, I am pleased with this purchase. It might be overkill for the size of my home, but I was having connection and throughput issues in one room even with an extender device attached to my old network device.
