The cables that come with the psu are great. Braided thin and very flexible. The 12vhpwr native cable worked like a charm as well. I wish they would include a 90 degree cable rather than the pcie 12v and the native 12v, but that’s ok since I had to order custom cables anyways. If you are using a case in the 20l or above range you should be fine. I’m using a 15l case and had to order custom cables because these are too long to manage with what I have crammed in there. My biggest worry was noise and coil whine. I watched some reviews that suggested there was bad coil whine on these. I threw a sustained 800w load at this (1000w PSU variant) and heard 0 whine. Fan was quiet as well and follows a pretty good fan less design until a high internal temp is picked up. Regular gaming on a 4080 and 7950x the fan started once and it was at a very low rpm.The RGB is whatever. If you don’t like it, just don’t plug in the RGB cable to the PSU and it won’t turn on.Psu itself looks great. If it’s viewable from the outside, it should add rather than detract from the aesthetic.

I’m writing this review after spending quality time with my ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II power supply, and I must say, I’m genuinely impressed. Right off the bat, one aspect that stands out is its incredibly smooth and linear power delivery.Being an avid gamer, I’ve got it hooked up to my graphics card that often operates at full throttle. What struck me was the unwavering consistency in the power supply, even under such demanding circumstances. It never misses a beat, ensuring my gaming sessions are uninterrupted and my equipment runs flawlessly.Aside from its reliable performance, this power supply comes with a few bells and whistles that I find very appealing. The OLED display, for one, is a neat feature. It adds a futuristic touch, providing useful information right at my fingertips. Moreover, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II is as stylish as it is functional. The sleeved cables and the Aura Sync compatibility give me the freedom to customize my setup’s aesthetics. And let’s not forget the 0dB mode – it’s so silent, you wouldn’t know it’s working hard to power up your rig. It’s also worth noting that the 10-year warranty brings an extra layer of reassurance, underscoring the quality and longevity of this power supply. All in all, the ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II power supply has not only met but exceeded my expectations. It’s a reliable powerhouse, delivering consistent performance while adding a touch of style to my rig. This is one investment I’m truly pleased with!

I have had good experience with several Corsair and Seasonic PSU’s over the years. This ASUS PSU caught my attention because of its OLED display and beautiful style. Knowing this is a custom PSU made by Seasonic, I was confident this would be a high quality product. The PSU comes with a 16-pin 12vhpwr cable and works perfectly with ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4090. So far I have seen maximum overall power draw at 650W and the PSU is silent. I leave the hybrid fan on since RTX 4090 can draw quite a bit of power. This PSU is expensive but I think it’s worth it in my experience. I wish I had bought it sooner at a lower price.

This thing is super nice! It handles my i7-14700k, rog strix 3080, plus all the extras like lights and what not with 0 issue! Having the screen tell you the wattage is super nice as well! Plus it comes with some nice flexible braided cables and mine even cane with a 30% off card for a purchase at cable mods

I upgraded to an RTX 4090 in my Ssupd Meshlicious case recently and I ended up replacing the power supply with this while I was as it. I already had a 1000w power supply in the case but it wasn’t ATX 3.0 and so I had to use 3 PCIe power cables for my old GPU and would have had to use 4 with the 4090 so I decided to upgrade to this so I could just use the single GPU power cable that this comes with. It works really well and cleared up a lot of space inside my case which was previously occupied by a bunch of power cables. Unfortunately ATX 3.0 is basically already a dead technology and 3.1 is the new standard because of the GPU power cable changes, so I’m not sure how long I’ll end up using this before I upgrade again (the tragedy of being an early adopter sometimes) but I can’t fault the power supply for that, it’s just the way that things went. If anyone is looking for a small form factor ATX 3.0 PSU they can’t go wrong with this, very high quality and working very well for me.

Install of this power house of a PSU was a breeze. Came packaged very well, with tons of cables, more than I needed for my install. Powered up right away with NO issues and does what it is designed for. It is a very hefty piece of hardware. Screams quality, would recommend!

For the last 20 years, I have loved Asus. I currently have an Asus laptop, router, monitors, GPU, motherboard and now this PSU. Amazon seller was quick on shipping and no issues. It still is a premium product. The only issue I had with my Asus strix oc 4090 (ekwb water block) wasn’t with the power from PSU. After troubleshooting ekwb water block bracket didn’t sit properly in my motherboard. Causing multiple front pins to have no contact with motherboard. I get new brackets tomorrow, so I can see if it’s a fault on the thermaltake tower 900 case or the brackets for the 4090. The Asus PSU 2x supplied gen 5 600watt cable works as well as my 3x gen 5 cable from Lian li.However, beware from Asus. This PSU only is supplied with one PSU to sata power connector with 4 sata power connectors on this wire. With my setup I need 5 sata power connectors (no SSD install). After battling Asus for 2 months. They cannot sell me a $15-$20 additional SATA power connectors for my PSU. Their best advice was to swap a perfectly good psu for a refurbished PSU with same 4 power sata connectors. So, if you’re running more than 4 sata power connectors you should find a different PSU. Maybe with a company that cares to make a few extra bucks for a connector, or supply two-three SATA power connectors like every other PSU I had over the years

This psu is a pleasant surprise to me . I honestly bough it because i though it looks more cool then other psu`s . And also , i have no knowledge of differences between all the psu`s . I though since i have motherboard and gpu and monitor all Asus i will get the psu too .I just build new pc but i used my old BeQuiet psu because i though i would save some money . The whole time for a week after finished build and using it i had some weird stuff like screen going black in the middle of gaming and flashing sometime , screen was not bright , it was kind of dull . I read somewhere on the web that psu can cause that and i just ordered this psu . I could order 1000 instead 1200W but the price was almost the same so i though for $17 more i just give some more room for expansion .WOW! It change everything , no more hiccups , monitor was so bright i had to turn it down a little lol . Pc runs smooth like a charm . No more lag , screen going black and crashing , nothing . Verry happy and some more . I calculated the wattage before i bought it and the calculator on the pcpartpicker showed me 750W . Well , the psu display showing that power usage is not going over 275W while running . Not sure how is that working tho , just saying what i see . I know it sounds weir when i say but it literally the whole pc and monitor brightened up after i switched to this psu . Like the display , you can see how much power u use . Also the rgb is not so annoying like on some other psu`s , just perfect . Its worth every penny .

Great power supply. I wish the cables were grouped together in a sleeve like older models instead of using individual braded sleeves. The LED screen showing current power output is really useful.Asus hides weights inside the case to make the PSU heavier and feel like better quality. This made my computer build weigh a lot more. Doesn’t seem necessary.
