I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of headphones for quite some time, and I can confidently say that the Shokz Open Run bone conduction headphones have exceeded my expectations in every way possible. These headphones have truly changed the way I experience music and stay connected during my workouts. Here’s why I can’t stop raving about them:Sound Quality: The sound quality on the Shokz Open Run headphones is simply outstanding. The bone conduction technology delivers crystal clear audio, allowing me to enjoy my music while still being aware of my surroundings. Whether it’s a heart-pounding beat or a soothing melody, these headphones handle it all with finesse.Comfort and Fit: I was initially concerned about how comfortable these headphones would be, but those concerns quickly vanished. They fit snugly but not too tight, and I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. The lightweight design is perfect for extended workouts, and they stay in place no matter how intense my exercise routine gets.Durability: These headphones are built to last. They’ve been through some intense workouts, including rain and sweat, and they’ve come out unscathed. The build quality is exceptional, and they feel like they can take on whatever challenges I throw at them.Battery Life: I was pleasantly surprised by the battery life. I can use these headphones for several hours without worrying about recharging. This is a significant plus for anyone who spends a lot of time on the move.Bluetooth Connectivity: Pairing the Shokz Open Run with my devices was a breeze. The Bluetooth connection has been rock-solid, and I’ve had no issues with dropouts or interruptions during my workouts.Phone Calls: The microphone quality on these headphones is surprisingly good. These headphones have been a game changer for me when it comes to running. I have tried all different kinds and these were what I was searching for. They are sturdy on my head so I don’t feel like they are going to fall off. They don’t go in my ears, so it never gets uncomfortable. It lets my ears get air, so then they don’t get sweaty or start to get sore, like with earbuds. I mainly use them on the treadmill, but when I go outside, I know they are going to be great for being able to still be aware of what is going on around me. They are lightweight, fit great, good sound. The one and only thing that isn’t ideal with these headphones is they have a very specific charger that only work with these headphones. So it’s not compatible with a USB micro B or USB-C chord so you always have to keep the charging chord on hand with the headphones. But they come with a little bag for the headphones and I just keep the charger in the bag.

Finally found headphones that fit my small head. Thank you Shokz for taking a chance on new sizing selection. Perfect fit, no rubs, irritation. My second Shokz purchase. First fell off while mowing and was demolished. Bought several cheaper and fits of all were horrible, realized Shokz were much better even though too big. Read reviews before purchasing the OpenRun and was concerned with magnetic charging cord mixed reviews. Love the innovation and wish all charging cords were magnetic. Great sound for Audible books and music, fast charging and long lasting play time. If you have a small head size, do not hesitate to order the mini!

If you are between the regular and the mini here’s how to choose: if you need to tighten baseball caps to the max to fit on your head, get a mini. If regular baseball caps fit great with minor adjustments, get the regular.Music sound: Good Enough (great, even!). I am not a sound engineer or recording artist so understand that I am rating this for regular background music. The sound is very nice and even better with ear plugs. The volume is not lacking at all. I tend to keep turning it down. I find the sound hurts my ears less than regular headphones, but please keep in mind that this can still cause hearing damage to your cochlea. I love that I can still hear my environment.Weight: Feels light, good for all day. What I really wanted this for was to not have to fumble through my purse or pockets when I’m outside to answer a call. These tuck so neatly in my (big curly) hair that you can’t even see them. I tried it with straight haired people and it’s still well camouflaged. I just keep it on most of the day and never miss calls. I can even hide it in a hair wrap for full incognito mode!! Great for looking like a crazy person talking to yourself!Zoom/Calls: I haven’t had any complaints about the microphone quality for calls or zooms. Most didn’t even know I was using a headset. Some ambient noise can be heard in loud places (plane flying overhead, construction, loud people nearby). If you need a lot of noise cancelling and are going to use it mainly indoors, then you might consider the option with the boom mic. I’m glad I didn’t get that because this version allows me to take it for runs, dog walks, and just be in public without looking like a telemarketer who got lost outside.Charging: Fast. Long lasting. 45 minutes is good to charge, and it lasts all day. I don’t have music playing the entire time (perhaps a couple of hours) and I’m not on the phone for 8 hours straight (easily 3+ hours of call time). I have yet to have this run out of charge. The lowest it has been is 60% and that was on day 2.Durability: Good so far, early to tell. The unit feels like it’s good quality and not flimsy. This one time will tell.Tech/connectivity: I did buy the regular sized open shokz and those stopped connecting to bluetooth after a couple of weeks (and was too big for my head). I returned it because of that and I wanted a smaller size. This may have been something that a call to the manufacturer may have fixed, but I wanted the smaller size anyway so I just sent it back. This mini unit is doing great so far. Bluetooth auto connects when I turn it on. Will update if that changes.**Edit**: My mini has unpaired itself a handful of times, but the fix is very easy. From the off position, hold the +volume/ON button until it goes into pairing mode. It has always reappeared in my Bluetooth selection. **End edit**The buttons are simple to use and easy to find tactally. Answer, hang up, start/stop music, change songs, volume, power all in three buttons. You have to play around with it (or !!!GASP!!! read the isntructions) to figure it out.All in all, I would definitely recommend this! I love that it stays on my ears and doesn’t cause irritation like in-ear headphones, no ear strain like when you wear a mask all day, none of this falling out while running nonsense, and great call quality. Honestly, I will never go back to ear pods again! This is it, fam!!Let me know if this review was helpful with the little button below 👇 🙂

These things work great. They are not hi def audio, but they sound good enough for their purpose. These do not cancel sound in any way. They are designed to allow sound in while not interrupting your audio so you can carry on a conversation with someone without having to switch it off. That being said, the start stop feature is super easy to use. Also works will for phone calls. No issues at all pairing it.

Easy to use, quick to set up, a d best of all safe to use! I bought these at the recommendation of my brother, he wears them daily. And now I do too. I bought the beige ones, I have long blonde hair, and most of the time no one knows I am wearing them. Great for exercising, walking out doors, hands free phone calls, and listening to music, while shopping. I wore these a bunch during Christmas , while shopping, and it helped with situational anxiety! I had calming Christmas music playing in my head, while fighting the crowds at the mall, and was calm cool and collected!

I bought the OpenRun model. I’ve been using them for a little over a month and I am pleased. I had complained to my family that all of the model earbuds I’ve bought keep coming out of my right ear. I had tried swapping the part that protects the ear and it made no difference. However, I don’t use them to listen to music. I listen to Audible and podcasts while I drive or unwinding when I get home. My daughter-in-law recommended the Shocks so I thought I would give it a try. The battery life is good, it recharges quickly, the sound is solid for my style of listening and it’s never come off my head. They make it possible to hear the surrounding noise so no issues with emergency vehicles while I’m on the road. The volume control and pause buttons are easy to get used to.I have noticed that when I wear them for more than three hours straight it begins to have an annoying pressure on one side of my head. It probably has more to do with the size of my head but I thought I should point that out.

Reviews & Research:After much research and reading way too many reviews, I finally pulled the trigger on the OpenRun Shokz Mini (smaller head band), and they did not disappoint! I’ve had them for almost a month, and I cannot overemphasize how great this headset is for music, podcasts, & phone conversations… especially if you are outdoors or working out… and particularly if you have the kind of hearing impairment that I have, (more on that later).Shokz Pro vs. Base Model:I was originally struggling over whether or not to pay an extra $50 to get the OpenRun Pros by Shokz. On one hand the Pro model supposedly boasts better bass response and improved noise cancellation for the mic; but on the other hand, the Pros have a lower waterproof rating than the base model OpenRuns. In the end I opted for the base OpenRun model, and I am super happy with it! The sound quality is better than I ever would’ve expected, and the mic has been great for people on the other end of voice calls!Hearing Impairment & Bone Conductivity:I have a substantial 80% hearing loss in my right ear, and 30% in my left; the cause of which is from past trauma to my outer and middle ear function. Bone conduction headsets bypass these parts of the ear and directly stimulate the inner ear cochlea, thereby giving far more optimal sound benefits than merely amplifying sounds outside of the ear through a hearing aid.See a Hearing Professional:If you have a hearing impairment that is related to scar tissue or mechanical issues with the outer or middle ear, then a Shokz OpenRun bone conductivity headset may offer you a substantial improvement over “in-the-ear” headsets and earbuds… as opposed to streaming your content and voice calls through a set of hearing aids. That is not to say that hearing aids are not a great thing. I have the latest & greatest AI powered “Oticon More” hearing aids, and they do a great job of picking up the missing sounds around me throughout the day. However, the Shokz OpenRun blows my hearing aids out of the water for streaming content and phone calls! Best of all, I can wear the Shokz AND hearing aids at the same time if need be.I hope this review helps you to feel more confident about ordering a set of Shokz. I love mine!

I loveeeee these headphones. I use them on my outdoor runs and they are SOOO good!! Literally not a single complain! Do make sure you measure your head to ensure you get the right size, I got the mini size and there’s still room left so if I didn’t measure myself and got the standard size, it wouldve been wayyyyy too big.I recently woke up from an unplanned nap at 10pm, needing to be up at 8am the next day for an appointment. I was super wired from the nap and I knew if I tried going back to sleep, I would just be tossing and turning until 4am. So I decided to go on a late night run to help (which it did) . These were amazing in ensuring I could hear my surroundings and helping me feel more secure in knowing that if someone tried to sneak up on me, I’d be able to hear their footsteps. You know, as a woman running alone in the dark, it was terrifying to do this but the headphones really helped me feel safer. I will say that I had the volume a little less than half, I think if I had the volume any higher it probably would’ve masked any noise somebody trying to sneak up would make so for your safety, leave the volume at half or less than half!Thank you aftershockz for making this product, it has been amazing

I absolutely am in love this with headset, material feel quality, build is pretty much perfect, the sound is better than the internet would have you believe, though it is lacking in the low end, but I got these for office work because we have walk-ups and I need my ears free and these are the perfect aid for those if us with the need-music-to-focus type of ADHD. I specifically chose this model rather than the cheaper more office oriented model because of the advertised battery life, but I can safely say the battery life is MARKEDLY better than the claimed 8 hours. I charged these overnight and was listening them from about 9am all the way to now as I write this at 10:30 pm. I had them on and playing pretty much constantly that whole time. If Amazon allows it I’d give these a 10/5
