Another quality Anker product. The cable is thick, and appears sturdy. I’ve tried it with an iPhone X, iPhone 6s, and iPad Air on the lightning side. I’ve used an Apple 60W USB C power supply, RAVPower 61W PD USB C power supply, 2018 MacBook Pro, and an Ubio portable battery pack with USB C. It has worked flawlessly with all of them. The cable also includes a velcro cable tie to keep the cable organized – a nice added feature.About the only negatives so far is that the cable is very thick and stiff. Perhaps to a fault. The lightning jack is pretty sturdy, but this cable can put a fair amount of stress on it. The cable is also stiff to use or store. It isn’t bad enough to take away a star though. The molding around the plugs on each end and strain reliefs are solid as well. I didn’t have any issues with any of the cases my devices are in, but it is possible that the thicker connector could interfere with some cases.I did some quick testing with a USB C tester on the iPhone X. With all 3 power supplies listed above the supply output 5V at low current. The iPhone was mostly charged at the time, so it may change with when the phone is discharged.I can’t really comment yet on long term durability or reliability as I’ve only had it a few days, but as written above it appears as if it will hold up well.Update Oct 31, 2019I can now verify that an iPhone X will go into fast charge mode with this cable. I let the phone discharge to 69%. When I connected this cable to the iPhone and a RavPower 61W PD power supply, with a meter inline in initially started at 5V. After a few seconds it switched to 9V. It began charging at 9V at slightly over 1 amp, so slightly over 9W. This still isn’t that high rate, but I expect if the battery was further discharged it would get closer to 18W. In any event it did switch to 9V, so properly entered fast charge mode. This cable meets any MFi checks the iPhone X (w/iOS 13.2) performs.

I purchased the below Anker products to get fast charging for my iPhone Xs Max. I’m writing this review after I performed a few different tests. As soon as I received my 5-port charger, I connected the USB-C to Lightning cable and was expecting to hear a double-beep. I didn’t, nor did I see any notification that my iPhone was fast charging.I started doing some research and decided to download an iOS app called “Amperes Lite” which shows you the current status of battery charging on your iOS device.Test 1: I connected a standard USB to Lightning cable. Max wattage was 9.52. My battery level was already at 90% when I started this test.Test 2: I connected the NEW Anker USB-C to Lightning cable. The max wattage was still 9.52. The battery level was still at 90%. This is when I was expecting a double-beep or some notification stating that my iPhone was fast charging. But nothing. So I hit up the internet. Basically, it seems that any Apple device that supports fast charging ONLY does so when the battery level is really low. Not only this but fast charging continues till about 75% full then slows down. At this point, I decided to drain my battery and try again later.Test 3: With the battery now below 20%. I then connected the Anker USB-C to lighting cable to the PD port on the 5-Port and ran the test again on my app. SUCCESS. The results showed a max charge rate of 14.28 watts. I don’t know what all this means but I do know that my battery was around 10-15% when I connected the charger. I went to brush my teeth, get ready for some meetings and when I came back about 30 minutes later, my battery was near 80% charged. So there you have it. It does work but you might not hear a double-beep or see some screen notification. By the way, I also confirmed this with the car charger connected to the PD port. – Charger: Anker 60W 5-Port Desktop Charger with One 30W Power Delivery Port – https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072K5ZJXF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1- Car Charger: Anker USB C Car Charger, 30W 5.4A 2-Port Type C Compact Car Charger with 18W Power Delivery – https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZ78R6D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1- Cables: Anker USB-C to Lightning Cable [3ft Apple MFi Certified] – https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H24PJGP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very solid charging cable. I wish it came in a slightly smaller size for use in my car. Maybe 2 ft or so

Until Apple shifts to USB-C from lightning, we’re going to need these cables. These work fantastic.

Use it in the car. Can’t speak to durability because I have only had it for about a week. So far, so good, though!

Updated Review.Anker saw my issue via my original review here. I didn’t contact them directly because I was unsure if the cable just wasn’t meant to work with my iPhone XR and iPad Pro. They sent me a new cable to try and it performs exactly as I would expect it to.As my original cable gave problems from the very first time I tried it in both my phone and tablet, I would have suspected their Quality Control tests would have caught this issue though.Anker has great customer service.Original Review:I was just looking for a good general purpose USB-C to lightning cable that would work for data transfer and charging from my MacBook Pro 16 to my phone XR and iPad 10.5 pro (including sidecar).I get the incompatible popup occasionally with my iPad, though it does seem to try to work sometimes. It doesn’t seem to want to charge the battery though, so eventually my iPad goes dead in tethered sidecar mode.I generally use it once in a while and then have a problem where I’m not sure if it’s my fault or not and put it back in my bag. Then a month or two later I’ll get it back out hoping it’s better now but it never really is. it has just not been a reliable cable for me.I have a lot better luck using the Amazon USB-C to USB converter and then using my original Apple lightning cable, which is a nuisance. Of course if Apple had just left me one normal USB port I wouldn’t need all the dongles required to operate this expensive pro laptop to begin with.
