I purchased this for my Pentax K-50 camera with a 50-200mm lens to use when the solar eclipse comes on April 8th, 2024.I finally had a clear day with full sun today, 3/8/2024 (one month away from April 8th!!) so I put this filter on my lens and took some pictures of the sun. They came out great!! This filter will work for the total solar eclipse and I’m excited.Buy one that fits your lens and you won’t be disappointed!!!

Bought for the upcoming eclipse and did a test shot on a Sony A7r3 with Tamron 150-600mm with 82mm filter. I attached a test shot and I’m happy with the results.

after a quick test using a Sony a6400 with 200mm, I was able to see some sun spots and camera is intact.Need more tries to get a clearer picture, but preparing for the eclipse!!Note. I edited a little the picture, original will be seen almost white

I have a number of solar filters, but these ND filters are awesome! The solar filter(s) that I have often leave a bit of a blue tint to the image, resulting in the photos requiring color correction after the fact. This ND filter doesn’t affect the coloring of the sun; it’s quite nice because these have the effect of just a pair of incredibly thick sunglasses. I can’t wait to update this review with pictures of the solar eclipse!

The K&F ND100000 comes in a large case (see photo). This is a quibble, but I prefer a smaller box for a 58mm filter; it takes too much space. As with all K&F products, this filter is well constructed. It screws on easily on my lens and has large knurles for easy grip.I compared two shots using my prime 24mm lens. One is a shot without the filter f8 @ 1/1000. The other is with the K&F ND100000 stop filter f8 @ 1 minute 15 seconds. As can be seen the colors are shifted a bit, so this is not a true neutral density. But they can be corrected in post. At this price point, the colors are close enough for most photography.

I’ve got a few other filters from K&F and this ND100000 is no different! While I haven’t had the chance to try it with an actual eclipse yet, I can confirm that it works well with just taking a photo of the sun, or other very bright light source. Remember, never expose your camera sensor or your naked eyes directly to the sun or you or it will go blind!Build quality is on par with other K&F products. Very happy with it!

I don’t know if I’ll ever get any real value from these solar shots, but at least I got to experience it because of this ND10000 filter! I’ll have to keep experimenting (and probably get a longer lens) to get better shots in the future, but it’s pretty cool to see the cool spots in the sun’s surface on my own photo.

Very handy filter. Works very well to photograph the Sun. You can capture decent detail on the surface of the Sun when using this filter with a long telephoto lens. The images were photographed with a Nikon D850 and a 200-500mm lens. I have several solar filters and I like this one a lot. When shooting the Sun, be sure to use live view. Unlike telescope solar filters which block UV and IR, camera lens solar filters make no mention of blocking these, so best to err on the side of caution and use live view to set position and focus and not the viewfinder. This will protect your eyes from possible damage. This will be a great filter to use for the upcoming North American eclipse.

Darkest filter I’ve ever tried as I’m fleshing out my kit. Was thinking with a fast lens and stable long exposure could get some decent shots – that has proven a little more challenging than originally thought. But those results not terrible. For bright light sources, this really shines (get it?). I’m not often taking the types of pictures this is aimed at but for those in the market for this style of lens it is quite nice and since 95mm filters aren’t usually cheap this is priced nicely, in my opinion, of course the smaller sizes being much easier to stomach. All in all, if you’re looking for a quality filter, this one ticks all the boxes for me in this category.

Update 1/26/2024 – an acquaintance asked about the lack of ISO-12312-2 certification in this ND filter, because he read a review that stated it was important. The ISO-12312-2 standard is meant ONLY for DIRECT VIEWING type glasses. It does NOT apply to to camera filter, as such you will not likely find that ISO cert on solar camera ND filters. This filter does what it’s advertised to do, reduce light by about 16.6 stops so you can safely take pictures of the Sun without damaging your sensor or your sight. I’ve included a quick test picture, sorry focus could be better. This is a good solar filter for a reasonable price.
